Guests are required to fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.Campfires are allowed when there are no restrictions in place and you can bring your own fire pit. Huckaway is a little camping oasis just off the Tasman Highway. Green pastures are bordered by forestry land to the East and a river to the South. Go for a bush walk through the forest, a swim or fish in the river, you might even find a trout! This property is the perfect location if you are here to enjoy either the Derby trails or the St Helens trails with some of the shuttles going straight past the front gate! St Helens is a 15-minute drive away and The Bay of Fires is 30 mins. The wide camping area has plenty of open flat space to park any type of caravan or van. Park down near the river, or tuck yourself in beside the forest, up to you. All campers need to be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, and we kindly request you take all your waste with you. There is a dump station in St Helens. Well-behaved pets are welcome also! Please be mindful that dogs do not chase the neighbours cows and please pick up after them. We camped up on the highest campspot on the property. It is on a hill but we had no trouble with our 18ft van. Loved the outdoor bath. Johnothan came up and had a yarn. Great fellow and left us to enjoy. Rode our bikes to the Derby trails and came back to a lovley quiet camp at night.

Weekend Trip to Farm on Franklin - Tasmania

We loved our stay at Farm on Franklin, such a beautiful place we were greeted by Sarah at the property and were allowed to pick our own grassy spot by the river. This place is perfect for families and you can bring your pet, fire pots provided and short walks by the river add to the serenity. this place is only 10 minutes from Port Sorell and close to the national park. Easy to follow directions 5 minutes on a gravel road to get to the site, some telstra coverage with semi level sites that only took some minor leveling of our 21 ft van. we would love stay again and would highly recommend to quiet couples travelling with their pets. dump point and woolworths in Port Sorell

Good and clear communication from the host and clear instructions on how to find the site. Good size sites and clean quality toilets .I will definitely be staying here again in the near future

Arrived and greeted by a lovely bunch of hens and then followed by Shyla the gorgeous pony. It is a peaceful spot by the dam. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and friends on site 1. It is so pleasant listening to the frogs birds and ducks, kayaking on the dam and soaking in the nature. Walked around property went to the brewery and vineyards and had a marvellous long weekend. Rosie our host was excellent to communicate with and she left us alone it is all very private. Firewood supplied and bbq but we had our own so didn’t use. Highly recommend Pocket Farms. only down side and it is very very minor is the noise of the road on our site during the day it does settle overnight. My friends on site 1 didn’t really notice it. Again it wouldn’t deter me from returning again. Be careful if it has rained a lot because it could be quite muddy getting to your site. Thank you Rosie. 😄
