5 nights at Camp Toondilla (Clarendon SA)

Camp Toondilla was a great base from which to explore Adelaide. Steven was really friendly and helpful, and so were the wallabies! Nice flat grassy spot and our kids enjoyed the play equipment.

Chris and Sam were lovely hosts and introduced myself and my puppy to their animals which was amazing and much appreciated; would have loved to take Blueberry home. Only downside was my puppy turns out to not like cows 😬 however I loved my stay and would highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Stone’s Summertown Cherry Farm

We had a really lovely stay at Stones Summertown Cherry Farm. It’s a peaceful spot with beautiful views. The new fire pit was a highlight. We spent time by the fire, watching the moon and stars appear. It was such a relaxing way to end the day. The setup is simple and surrounded by nature. The hosts were friendly and easygoing, and the whole place has a relaxed, welcoming feel. It was a memorable stop and we’d love to come back another time, maybe during cherry season.

Weekend Trip to Sunset Rocks Farmstay

We had the most relaxing stay at Sunset Rocks. We stayed right by the creek in our camper trailer, which was super easy to access. We enjoyed the sound of running water to fall asleep to and the sounds of birds in nearby trees to wake up to. We took our dog on walks along the creek edge, set up a campfire to keep ourselves warm and enjoyed a pack of Steve’s sausages for dinner. We can’t wait to come back sometime soon!

If you are looking for action it's close to all of the Adelaide Hills attractions and wineries, you can explore the pristine landscape on the property on foot or just take in the tranquility and stay by the campfire and relax. Georgie’s hospitality was exceptional—attentive to your needs while also allowing you freedom, creating the perfect balance for a place to breathe and unwind. A very quiet and peaceful campsite with everything we needed for our stay. We were a small group but there is plenty of space for larger groups. Ample firewood for the chilly nights and some nice touches with shelter, tables and charging points.

1 night at Stone’s Summertown Cherry Farm

Review: 5/5 – Loved it! Just spent some time at this campsite and honestly, it was one of the best camping experiences I’ve had! The area is peaceful, surrounded by beautiful autumn trees, and the whole setup just felt really relaxing. Loved how the tents were on stretchers—kept everything off the ground and made sleeping way more comfortable. The host was super nice and helpful, which made the whole trip even better. Everything was clean, well-kept, and easy to access. Whether it was chilling by the fire at night or waking up to that morning view, it felt perfect. Definitely coming back here again soon. Highly recommend this spot if you’re after a chill, nature-filled getaway!

A beautiful spot to just relax. Plenty of flat space to set up, sit down and take in the water view, the wildlife and at night the stars. Hosts were super easy to communicate with. On weekends guests are welcome to come for dinner on Friday night or for lunch on Saturday or Sunday, and then stay overnight, so they can enjoy a few drinks without worrying about driving home!

Noorla Farm (Happy Camping Ground)

We live in a beautiful valley on 30 acres, that not many people know about. We're joined by 3 friendly dogs, 4 horses, 2 alpacas, 2 lovely Camels, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. We ask that all fires be contained within the fire pit provided and a portable toilet is available for your use. BUSHFIRE SEASON: Wood and open fires are not permitted in the bushfire season, therefore you will not be able to use the fire pits.

Pymbroke Camp

Our property is located in the rocky outcrops of the Bremer Ranges and is on the Bremer River in Rockleigh. This site was once a overnight yard for the sheep farmers who were passing through the area. We have three separate locations for campers to choose from. The Gums- surrounded by small gum trees right near the Bremer River. The Carob- this site is situated further back from the river and is surrounded by mulberry trees. Lastly we have The Sticks- this site is behind the scrubby bushed and requires tight access and is more suited to tents and swags. The decent into camp is quite narrow and steep so please drive carefully. We are 45 minute drive from the Lavender Federation Trail which is a popular walking track in the region. We are only 30 minutes drive from Monarto Conservation Park which is a popular spot for walking trails and picnics. Monarto is also home to a Safari Park which is the largest Safari Park in Australia and home to lots of interesting animals. We have 2 toilets available but please BYO toilet paper. Located on 25 acres of beautiful bushland, a chestnut tree grove and paddocks with stunning views you will find our magical retreat. There are 4 sites to choose from, all peaceful spots with an abundance of natural wildlife plus a family of deer who often visit. We are just 15 minutes drive from Mount Lofty where you can enjoy some of the many trails available and see cascading waterfalls, scenic gorges and lush fern gullies brimming with bush birds and wildflowers. There are a number of great wineries in the area all with excellent wines and local produce you can enjoy. We also have several gin distilleries. We are a short walk to Wotton's Scrub (Kenneth Stirling Conservation Park) and close to Hahndorf, Oakbank and Stirling. Campers must be self contained with their own camping toilet and water and take all rubbish with them on departure. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.

Rocky Dale Farm

This is a campsite for those who want the best of both worlds, the serenity of the Australian Bush, but close to all the modern conveniences and holiday activities. Surrounded by the Hindmarsh Valley National Park and a working sheep farm, you’ll be sharing this campsite with the local kangaroos, and if you’re lucky, an echidna or two. There’s a creek running through, and vibrant bird life. Nearby is a beautiful bush-walk through the Mount Billy Conservation Park. Situated half way between Myponga and Victor Harbor, only 15 minutes to either, there are many activities available. Kayaking on the Myponga reservoir, or surfing, swimming and sun bathing at either Horseshoe Bay or Waitpinga. Urimbirra wildlife park is less than 10 minutes away, and around the corner is the Softfoot Alpaca Farm, with the on-site Swagman Restaurant. Also in Hindmarsh Valley is the lovely restaurant Lost Phoenix Farm. Over your stay, you will likely encounter our two dogs, Lola and Sherlock, who very much enjoy meeting our guests. Lola is particularly fond of children and loves to play fetch with them, whilst Sherlock will try charm you out of your sausages. Despite what he says, he is well fed at home. They are both good at giving high fives. If you would prefer not to see the dogs, please just let us know and we will keep them under strict supervision. An RV dump point is located on Adelaide Road, Victor Harbor, within the tourist information bay, 200m south of Waterport Road, approximately 10 minutes from the site.

Attractions include the Historic Steam Ranger Cockle Train which runs from Goolwa to Port Elliot and Victor Harbor each Sunday & Wednesday, and every day during school holidays. There are also a range of cafes, restaurants, galleries, and a distillery. Spirit of the Coorong cruises leave from Goolwa Wharf, where you can also board the historic Oscar W paddle steamer. Markets are held every Sunday at Jaralde Park adjacent to the Goolwa Wharf.
