Located at the heel of the Yorke Peninsula’s boot, Edithburgh provides an idyllic seaside escape. With its small-town charm and sandy beach, this windswept stretch of coastline is ideal for swimming, sailing, and fishing, as well as being a surprise hit with scuba divers and snorkellers. Cast a line from Sultana Point Jetty to hook a snapper or King George whiting; launch your boat from the all-weather boat ramp; or dive beneath Edithburgh Jetty to spot rare species of nudibranchs, seahorses, and octopus. Just off-shore, Troubridge Island has near-deserted white-sand beaches, a resident colony of penguins, and a Lighthouse Keeper’s cottage to rent. The long-distance “Walk the Yorke” hiking trail also passes right by the town. Edithburgh campers can check into the town’s caravan park, which has powered sites and cabin rentals, or park a self-contained caravan at the bush campgrounds and Hipcamps near Wattle Point or Goldsmiths.

Welcome to your dream destination!! We have two different locations available in Kangaroo Island with some options of sites in each. FIRST LOCATION: EMU BAY HIDEAWAY-30 hectares of peace, mainly vegetated with Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaved Mallee (Eucalyptus cneorifolia, a nationally-protected ecological community). Kangaroos and wallabies are in abundance. It has a wonderful feeling of remoteness and seclusion yet is so close to iconic Emu Bay. Those with 4WD may choose sites overlooking Shoal Bay towards Kingscote. Alternatively, you may set up camp anywhere on the property. There is even one under-cover position with a concrete floor for those concerned about the weather. There are no amenities so guests need to be 100% self-sufficient (including BYO drinking water and toilet) and leave no trace. It is a wild block and only five minutes from the iconic Emu Bay, where the white sandy beach runs for 4kms, most of which is backed by 10 to 20-meter-high dunes. It is one of the best beaches on the island with crystal-clear water. SECOND LOCATION: Farm Stay about 15 km from Emu Bay and 20km from the main town of Kingscote. This is an operating small sheep farm of over 100ha. For security reasons the exact location is not advertised, but will be disclosed upon arrival on Kangaroo Island. There are several beautiful sites. This location is fairly central to most KI visitor attractions. It is a secure place to set up camp and have peace of mind that your belongings will be safe while you are away from the site. The host takes care to situate sites to give campers the feeling of exclusiveness. NOTES; Check with me before lighting a campfire - this depends on the season and risk. Dogs are permitted if well controlled (register visiting dogs with local council). Welcome to your dream destination!! We have two different locations available in Kangaroo Island with some options of sites in each. FIRST LOCATION: EMU BAY HIDEAWAY-30 hectares of peace, mainly vegetated with Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaved Mallee (Eucalyptus cneorifolia, a nationally-protected ecological community). Kangaroos and wallabies are in abundance. It has a wonderful feeling of remoteness and seclusion yet is so close to iconic Emu Bay. Those with 4WD may choose sites overlooking Shoal Bay towards Kingscote. Alternatively, you may set up camp anywhere on the property. There is even one under-cover position with a concrete floor for those concerned about the weather. There are no amenities so guests need to be 100% self-sufficient (including BYO drinking water and toilet) and leave no trace. It is a wild block and only five minutes from the iconic Emu Bay, where the white sandy beach runs for 4kms, most of which is backed by 10 to 20-meter-high dunes. It is one of the best beaches on the island with crystal-clear water. SECOND LOCATION: Farm Stay about 15 km from Emu Bay and 20km from the main town of Kingscote. This is an operating small sheep farm of over 100ha. For security reasons the exact location is not advertised, but will be disclosed upon arrival on Kangaroo Island. There are several beautiful sites. This location is fairly central to most KI visitor attractions. It is a secure place to set up camp and have peace of mind that your belongings will be safe while you are away from the site. The host takes care to situate sites to give campers the feeling of exclusiveness. NOTES; Check with me before lighting a campfire - this depends on the season and risk. Dogs are permitted if well controlled (register visiting dogs with local council). The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and wildlife. We were lucky enough to see a Koala, as well as tons of kangaroos and birds. We loved our two night stay at Koala Coast Retreat. The views were amazing across to the ocean, we had a really private spot all to ourselves which was amazing, but there are more social spots if you prefer. Heath was an amazing host and Daisy the dog was adorable. Directions were super easy .. and its just a 2 minute drive down the road from Fleurieu Gin which was great to go to for lunch ... we were lucky we had perfect weather. Definitely be back again. Kim and Michael’s property was a peaceful oasis overlooking the vines. We stayed here for 2 nights with family in 2 vans and loved the open space. Michael gave us a great wine tasting, explaining from start up of their family winery. Perfect location for exploring the McLaren region with Aldi close by for grocery top ups. They were lovely hosts and we got to sample some of their very nice wines which are available for purchase. They will happily assist with suggested places to visit whilst in McLaren Vale.
