Private campsites with amazing views and more open spots with easier access. Farm dam with plenty of birdlife. Valley Heights camp paddock is about 350 acres for you to enjoy, whether you want to sit back and relax or go exploring. Maybe hike the surrounding hills or to the sunset lookout, (you can drive your 4WD if hiking is not your thing). Your doggo can swim in the dam as well. The surrounding area has many attractions to explore. Bonshaw Weir is only a 10 minute drive and Glenlyon Dam a scenic 35 minutes. I was told that as I journeyed around Australia I would find a place to settle and Maryvale on the Darling Downs was love at first sight.
I am happy to share my love for this property and welcome travellers to enjoy the tranquillity of the riverside and enjoy some of the walks and other features of the area.
Welcome to She-oak Hideaway, located in Maryvale by the riverside.
The riverside is a peaceful place with two large camping areas and firepits.
There are 2 large waterholes suitable for swimming, fishing and kayaking.
Down by the riverside you will see Water dragons, turtles, ducks, swamp hens, many birds, occasional Wallabies and Koala. Most afternoons the local Rikali (Australias Otter) can be seen diving for Yabbies.
We are an 11 minute drive to the very popular Main range national Park which has some beautiful hiking trails and is the perfect place for a picnic. We have a great country pub close by as well which is a short walk down a country lane.
Pets are welcome but please ensure they are under your control and that you clean up after them. Campers must be self sufficient with their own toilet.
Rubbish bins are provided for campers and a treated rain water tap is available. Kayaks and life jackets are available on request.
1 - 10 Amp power connection is also available on request.
Firewood can be purchased for $15 a bag or $20 for a wheelbarrow full.

We loved Guffy Acres. The hosts were so friendly and the property beautiful. Andy took the kids to feed the goats, we walked the property to see the cows and dam. Amazing stars at night. Lovely region, visited Art of Krupunski Winery, local breweries, swimming at Stanthorpe Pool and day trips to Storm King dam. Highly recommend

Stayed at Carbeen Camping and Farmstay over the New Year. It is a relaxing location, flat and well looked after. Host are lovely people, checked in with us every day to ensure everything was ok. They even supplied free fire wood. Shame the dam was a little too weedy for a swim. Lots of kangaroos of an evening coming to the dam for a drink. Even had the odd huge goanna wonder thru campsite a few times. Will be back.

Great evening fire with firewood supplied and a clean toilet.
We will be back to see the stars in the evening with no clouds.

Great setup. Sites are far away from one another. Plenty of wildlife. Enjoyed the ferry wrens and wallaby's. Easy to get to, only 15 minutes to Stanthorpe.

Nice spot, fantastic soft grass, Level, beautiful creek, 10 minutes walk to a traditional qld small town pub.. Paul is friendly and kind. Tried some home grown sweet corn. Met his funny little 2 week old goat. Very relaxing. Just what we were after. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful area with stunning views. The hosts are very accommodating and keep the area really clean and tidy. Plenty of wildlife around and hills to explore. The area we camped was so nice and secluded it felt like we were on our own private property. Incredible place and experience cannot wait to get back to Valley Heights!

The moment we pulled in, we both just went wow! The flowers were absolutely beautiful and instantly made the whole place feel calm and welcoming.
The campsite was super private, quiet, and really easy to access. Such a peaceful little pocket, and our dog was living her best life exploring the space.
And the host, honestly, such a standout. Friendly, easygoing, really accommodating… and a bit mysterious and handsome, which didn’t hurt the overall vibe at all!
We loved our stay and would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a relaxed, nature-filled escape.

What a gem. A beautiful peaceful, private bush camp. A large grassed area beside a big dam. Open spaces and an area amongst pine trees. Take your pick. Clean toilets and a great rustic shed.
