Located 70kms from the Granite Belt. 50kms from the Coolmunda dam and 60kms from Texas. Quiet, hills with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.
This is a grazing property where you can obseve sheep, cattle, and roos, and if you are lucky a few emus.
In the little dams and ponds they drink from you often see ducks and other waterfowl.
Gullies with ankle-deep spring-fed seasonal creeks. Are scattered thoughout the property. Pleasant to walk along, many accessed by walking or 4wd track only.
Trail bikes or pushbikes welcome.
There are great areas to hike, explore, and birdwatch. There is no light pollution so you see the amazing display of stars at night.
At the top of each hill is a pleasant view. Nice photos to show off on fb or instagram.
Campfires permitted, please make sure you put them out when not attended.

If no piggers, the whole 2500 acres is yours to explore.
If it rains, or you arrive too late to set up, we have a spare bed room with a double bunk sleeps 2 adjoining the shed near house $30.
per night to use.
You can also sleep in the shearing shed. And look at the equipent and fill a bag of manure for your garden.
We have a few freindly sheep. And you can toss your food scraps to our chooks.

Lucky’s Ridge is a 120acres property of bush, heavily timbered with straight eucalyptus, situated north NSW, near Tabulam, at the foot of great dividing range. It’s subtropical (summer rain, dry winter usually, no frost).
The primitive campgrounds have two compost toilets and two wood fired hot showers. Camp kitchen has a wood stove/oven, kitchen sink and benches (no fridge). All water taps are on rain water. There is a herb/veggies garden guest are welcome to pick from. Please be aware that there is only 12v power available (usb charging station), and Telstra reception is there but just and Optus is patchy.
I have friendly dairy goats, sheep, cows, pigs and horses roaming on the property, maintaining the grass short and fertilised (watch for the poop!), and chickens, duck and rabbits, all mostly free range in the Permaculture garden and orchards near the house. I'm into homesteading, and I grow and raise (and butcher) most of my food.
I enjoy sharing my land and experience with others, so I’ve recently had a primitive campground approved and open. It was mostly to host seasonal self reliant backpackers coming to pick blueberries at Mountain Blue, so it offers a bit more than just a place to camp, but it stays rather rustic. I’m also keen to host people interested in off grid living and sustainability or whoever wants to come and camp in this quiet, not crowded at all part of the bush. Hipcampers please be aware that from August til December, backpackers may be living at the campgrounds.
If you are interested in a garden tour, feeding the animals, milking the goats and/or pony rides, please let me know in advance.
We also have some mountain bike trails (jumps, etc) for keen riders (work in progress).

Welcome to Emu creek Retreat
One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking.,
Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. But if your dog is not friendly or is likely to venture into someone else camping area, than will have to be on a leash.
If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them.
One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities.
Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m high waterfall, nature at it's best. In the vicinity you have the Clarence river at Paddy's Flat Road and Hootons Road within minutes drive from the property.
The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road.
Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away.
Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km.
Once a working cattle property, in 1993 was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise.
Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property.
The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

This is a beautiful place, we were alone there in a huge paddock with lots of spots to choose from right next to Bluff Rock. The ground is reasonably level and good. Some cows were nearby in taller grass.

Spectacular camp sites, views all round, wildlife and quiet!
As people that live in the bush we just loved this spot, it's everything you want for a get away from it all.
Brilliant hosts left us wood for our fire and share the magic of their land.
We will definitely be back to this spot. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at Craigview. Very quiet and peaceful, beautiful views. Brad met us at the gate and had firewood ready to go at the firepit. So many spots to choose from, too. A 5 min drive off the highway made it the perfect overnight stay. Thanks Brad, we will see you again soon.

A beautiful and peaceful area that was lovely for a quiet weekend of camping! We saw plenty of wildlife - including emus! - and the stars were incredible at night. It was quite hot and many of the bodies of water on the property were too small or weedy for swimming, but there was a nice breeze and plenty of shade to help keep us cool. Also worth noting that although it is not 4WD access only, the road up to the house is very bumpy and rocky, and you can’t reach all camping areas in a small car. Overall a lovely place to stay though, and perfect if you’re looking for some privacy and a relaxed getaway.

Absolutely amazing stay at Bradley’s land! The views are breathtaking – waking up and watching the sunrise and sunset over the landscape was something special. The property is peaceful, well looked after, and feels like a perfect escape from the busy world.
Bradley and the hosts were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Great communication and genuine hospitality really topped off the experience.
Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for stunning views, tranquility, and great hosts. We’ll definitely be back!

Great campsite with a beautiful view! Bradley was super accommodating when we contacted him the afternoon we wanted to arrive. He came down to meet us and had a good chat. The site was well maintained and perfect for a country getaway. Sunrise with spectacular as well highly recommend! 10 minutes from town where we grabbed a great coffee.

We had another beautiful stay in the Spring Paddock at Craigview. The host Bradley looked after us wonderfully with the site mown and looking great on our arrival. There are soo many beautiful camp sites here. Every site has a different attraction. Either looking over Bluff Rock which is absolutely breathtaking or taking in the wildlife that is in abundance here. From ground and king parrots to echidnas. We saw so much on our stay.

Loved that we were the only ones here. What a beautiful well maintained area. We enjoyed choosing one of a number of fire pits to set up our camp ovens. There was a port a loo available for use (which we did not use). We “wallowed” in the little rapids of the McIntyre Brooke to cool down and enjoyed watching the stars and satellites during the evening. What a perfect getaway. We laughed at the way the goats “frolicked “ on the rocks across the creek and enjoyed watching the Roos jumping past. Overall, wow , what a great place. ❣️

Beautiful place to stay, love the free roaming goats, wallabies, cows, sheep and emus.
The river is full of tabbies and little shrimp and fish and lots of safe areas to let your kids go fishing. Water is deep enough to swim in, we even managed to get our kayaks in the water tho got stuck on rock in a few places.
