This was a lovely family orientated campground with a great backdrop of the hills behind Cairns and lots of bird life in the trees. The bathroom was nice and modern and very clean. Great little campsite only a few minutes from Mossman and 2 minutes from the fantastic Newell Beach. Great location to explore the Daintree, Port Douglas areas and local freshwater swimming holes. All sites are grass around a small man-made dam with fire pits, surrounded by farm land, with friendly cattle. There's a communal shed to catch up with neighbours at sundown. Family run property very welcoming. No power or toilet but ideal for self contained camping and vans, with water taps available to top up your own tanks. Ideal place to explore from or just relax.

Nice little stop off next to a small dam. Roomy sites and well marked. Each site with a fire pit. Would benefit from some toilets and a shower but advertised as needing to be self contained so not too disappointed about the lack of. Only 6-7 sites in total so not too many people. Very quiet and peaceful. Drinking water available but not power.

Really lovely and secluded orchard with mature fruiting trees, fragrant flowers, and lush green grass - a welcome stay on my way from Cape York to unwind before Bloomfield track home, accompanied by my dog. The road here is also really scenic and well worth the drive. Bonus for the crystal clear safe creek, very good for drinking & swimming. Amos & his mum made Xena and I very welcome in their slice of paradise, that is also home to Cricket & Toby (the pig defender), chickens and cows. Thank you so much for the pleasure of staying here, I'm so lucky that I got the place to myself - Xena had a ball! Recommend site 3 for most privacy, great tree to camp under, and for solar dependent campers.

Such a great spot amongst the rainforest. So many different varieties of fruit in the orchard. Host was really kind and let us take a few different fruits to try. The rainforest is so close and you get to hear and see alot of wildlife. Great spot and would recommend for those trying to get away from the busier campsites.

Firstly, before I even talk about the actual stay, I have to mention the quality of the communication. The interaction with the host has been absolutely perfect. Easily approachable and every question answered. Now… the stay… it was outstanding! Rock up, pick a spot, get settled, light a fire in an offered fire pit, crack a tinny, sit back in front of the dam and just take in the views. Every spot looked super level and easy access to potable water (we had a 20m hose and could fill up without moving). Dogs were welcome, the dam provided great entertainment for kids and adults, the cows were adorable, the host was friendly and paid us all visits with a yarn or two and only a stone throw away from Mossman town. Even though it got busy (no vacancies), there was a huge amount of room for everyone and didn’t feel like we were invading other’s privacy. 15/10…. Absolute gem of a place and will come back if we’re over this side of Australia again. Keep up the great work, Tink!

We arrived late with no issues during our stay at Dans property, and the space was a well thought out. There were little nooks to tuck away into with our camper and close to flushing, clean toilets (what a treat!) It rained while we were there, but this only added to the peaceful, tropical experience for what we thought was going to be a quick over night stop. Stunning! We'll never forget this one.

Right now though in our top dam, we have a flock of White Egrets roosting at night, spectacular when they depart & return each day, however due to the number of these birds, hundreds if not more! they have fouled the water in the dam & it's a bit on the nose.

Thank you who camped this year. We have « closed » our area from mid January to April. If you wish to camp during that time message us on Hipcamp, and we will endeavour to see if it is possible. Please note, our rates are per vehicle per night ( if you have an additional vehicle, just book an additional site or additional nights. This assists in avoiding overcrowding) There is NO access to our property from Kuranda end! Visitors need to go through Mareeba A beautiful 160 acre paddock that you can enjoy. Cleared slashed areas beside the river. Enjoy a river swim to cool you down during summer and go for a cold dip during winter. River is also good for fishing during the right season. Access to river is 100 metres on graded walking track. Unless you have a ‘booster ’there is very limited mobile coverage or internet. {enjoy the peace and solitude} Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway. Sites are private separated from each other, some sites suit clothing optional guests Site is 300 metres from road and provides privacy. Tents and small caravans are ideal. Not suitable for highway caravans or very large vans as the access will be too rough. There are walking areas at rear of property. Be aware tropical North Queensland has paralysis ticks and we have snakes at times and visiting pigs. Water can be supplied upon request. Power generators are permitted . There may be minimal mobile service with Telstra. Campfire will only be permitted within fire pit. All campers will need to be self contained and leave no trace behind. Checkout is generally when you feel like it. Dog friendly. Site may be closed in the wet season from December to April, once monsoonal events occur

A peaceful acre and a half block straight off the road, flat grassed area with fencing between camp area and Neighbours. Plenty of space to set up where you feel comfortable within the fence and surrounded by horses. 15km or 20 minutes from Cairns City Centre and 10 minutes from Coles or Woolies in either direction. (Please note Gordonvale Woolies is closed on Sundays, Mount Sheridan shopping centre has Kmart, Coles and Woolies). A cane train line runs across the front of the property so during cane season the trains come past a few times during the day and night. They can be noisy but are fairly quick. Fresh and crystal clear swimming hole/ creek at the end of the road if you continue west down Maitland Road. Please stay in the front block and before the horse stables. Guests must be self-contained with their own toilet facilities.
