We have two large, flat, grassed paddocks with sweeping mountain views. We offer up to six campsites, all accessible for any type of vehicle, and you choose where you want to pitch/park on arrival. Both paddocks have easy access to flushing toilets and hot showers. However, the lower paddock has our playground and undercover areas.

Four clear creeks flow all year into an absolutely stunning swimming hole, the largest and deepest in Finch Hatton Gorge.
The camp facilities are off-grid but offer powered sites. You’ll find all the modern comforts: flushing toilets, beautiful hot showers with rainforest views, large camp kitchens with everything you need (including a pizza oven and USB charging ports), and peaceful dining areas where you can hear the creek.
Accommodation options:
– Powered or unpowered sites to suit all setups — some with private decks overlooking the creek, some shaded, some sunny for solar.
– Tent-only sites on the grassy area near the main fire pit (no vehicles on the grass; parking close by).

If you want to get away from the rat race for a while this is your ideal location. We take one booking at any one time. You have the site all to yourselves. Your site is three acres of privacy and seclusion, rainforest and a beautiful freshwater creek. Close to walks to Araluen Cascades and the Wheel of fire falls at Finch Hatton Gorge.
There are no facilities here, so you need to be fully self-contained. No wifi. No mobile coverage (great to get the kids off the screens). There is plenty of water, firewood and wildlife though. Sometimes you won't be able to access the site as creek floods in heavy rain - can be cut off.
Well behaved dogs are welcome.
Please note check in is between 2 pm and 5 pm unless arranged otherwise.
Access is best suited to 4WD or High Clearance vehicles. Not suitable for small cars.
The site is suitable for caravans/trailers 6 metres long or smaller. We can accommodate up to six vehicles on the site (for a large group. travelling together).

We have one private creek site with or without power, you will have the place to yourselves. Amenities are at the main residence up the hill, a shower fee per stay applies.
We are not a commercial campground, BBQ and fire pit areas setup for your use at the site and firewood is readily available at fee.
The property is located 880m above sea level and 11km up Dalrymple Road in Eungella. The property entrance is concealed and on the left there are three wellie bins opposite a traffic mirror. The front gate is on your left and has a Land for Wildlife sign attached, the gate is aways locked.
We have a 150 acre property, 50 acres of which is rainforest with a magical creek winding through it. Rainforest walks have been marked or you can just follow the creek and discover secluded swimming holes with small waterfalls.
There are leaches in the rainforest and we recommend that you bring insect repellent and adequate hiking gear.
During November firefly´s drift through the property at dusk.
Rosellas, King Parrots and Finch's are popular on the property and Cockatoos make a regular visit.
Access to the property is by booking only, we recommend, 4WD and AWD during the wet season and if towing but 2WD is ok during the dry times. High clearance caravans up to 9m are ok.
Campers are preferred to bring their own amenities and all waste has to be collected and taken off the property.
Washing machine and dryer are available for a fee.
This is a dog and horse friendly property. We have many ground feeding birds, wallabies and request that animals do not wonder unattended.
Please note that we have parasite ticks on the property and recommend that you give your pet a tick treatment prior to arriving.
We have no mobile phone coverage on the camp site, limited coverage if you drive up the hill at the highest point.

The Beach is classified as a Green zone under Qld law which means fishing is excluded along the beach. You can fish at the creek mouth to the north. There is also creek access through the property but no camping there. A small boat can be launched and retrieved.
Self sufficient camping only. No toilets, showers, dump points or power provided at this time.
Horse yards are available if you wish to bring your horse for rides along the beach, obviously all at your own risk.
Well behaved, quiet dogs are allowed, and must be kept within the campsite unless your walking them. Be respectful of others.

Mighty Fungi Farm is a 24-acre working farm set in nature, where mushrooms, regeneration, and big ideas are quietly taking root.
Our land includes an active mushroom operation, orchard plantings, open grass fields, and a peaceful dam. We’re building an eco-conscious space focused on mushroom cultivation, biochar, composting, land restoration, and sustainable farming practices.
We’ve recently relocated and are very much in a building and growing phase. That means guests will experience a real working farm in progress — sheds, shelters, and visitor areas are evolving, and each visit becomes part of the story. If you enjoy authentic places, hands-on learning, and watching something meaningful take shape, you’ll feel right at home here.
🌱 Your Host & Vision
Your host, Brent, has lived in Australia for over 25 years and brings a deep background in conservation. He previously served as Vice President of the Kariba Wildlife Society in Africa, working in rhino protection, vegetation management, and long-term conservation programs.
The long-term vision for Mighty Fungi Farm is to become a nature-based education and retreat space, featuring:

As well as being great hosts, the campsites at Paul and Clare’s place were amazing. They came by and checked how the sites were and made us feel very welcome. Walking up and down the beach was fantastic and the whole experience was very relaxing. We also had a minor issue with the camper trailer but Paul was able to help us out with some spare parts to get us back home. We look forward to coming back to visit this amazing place.

Easy access, close to Finch hatton gorge. Two large areas of flat, grassy space to choose from to set up. One area is up a small hill, the other just as you come in the gates.

Great spot. Very beautiful creek.
I'd advise anyone going is to get them to lead you to the site. The instruction are good if you live there, but being an outsider, the road is actually a bush track & would of never of found it. Lots of small properties & driveways, that was hard to determine what was the road & what was a driveway.

We loved staying Platypus Bush Camp site 4 with our two dogs. The layout was ideal to give people the feeling of seclusion as the creek running drowned out noises and there was plenty of areas to walk around and spend time in the creek alone, or you could choose to cook with other campers in the communal kitchen. It was a perfect spot.

Booked a spur of the moment night away camping with my dog and really glad I did. Nice walks to explore along the creeks, and the private dam was full and a great place to relax and switch off a bit with minimal mobile reception. Recommend checking out the lookout as well.

It was absolutely fantastic, a suprisingly very Built up camp, with a wonderful camp kitchen/area, clean toilets, and a hot shower with a spectacular view!, not to mention the huts which looked fantastic, as well as the flowing creek for a lovely refreshing swim
Shane is absolutely lovely and super accommodating and helpful
If you are ever in the area (or not. It’s worth the drive) staying here is a must

Awesome! Very accomodating host and phenominal spot along the beach. We had the place to ourselves (thanks to TC Koji), and we spent our days exploring the beach with our dogs. Paul came to check on us throughout the stay (probably thought we were a little looney) and brought his own dogs around for a play as well. All in all a lovely stay

Feels a million miles away from the cares of the world, but conveniently close to Sarina and Mackay if needed. Was good to have a single site camp to ourselves. Is in a rural lifestyle area, so heard mowers and dogs barking in the distance, but no real concern. Is a good spot if birding is your thing as there is a variety of habitats, increasing the variety of birds seen and heard.

Loved our stay at Tide Water Park.
The drive in through mobs of cattle & pretty paddocks was very scenic.
Nice camp-site in the bush with a walk way to the beach close by.
Paul was great, visited us late afternoon & offered to take us on a turtle tour. In the ute we went & up the beach he took us with his dogs to the turtles swimming in the shallows.
Such a shame we had crap weather, but we still enjoyed. We will be back if we're ever down this way again.

Easy access, absolutely beautiful location, plenty of things to do. Great access to creek and some good beach driving. Paul is a top bloke, very helpful and good for a yarn. We have already picked out our next site for when we return which will be very soon. Not over crowded, each site is isolated and the whole place perfectly quiet.

Beautiful secluded beach which is great to explore at low tide. Paul drove us down to the rock pools to see the resident turtles which was an incredible experience to be so close to them. He's a legendary host!
Camping spot was great behind the sand dunes so you get great protection from the elements while still being on the beach. Such a special location. We will be back for sure!

★★★★★ A NYE I’ll Never Forget at Mighty Fungi Farm
What began as a one-night stopover on my way home to Brisbane from a Christmas road trip to Cairns turned into one of the most memorable New Year’s experiences I’ve had.
From the moment I arrived, my dogs and I were welcomed like family. I set up a beautiful camp with my hammock tent and dry tent, tucked into the riverbed between a lone mango tree, the dam, and the creek (which becomes a river in the wet season). It was peaceful, grounding, and absolutely stunning.
With a cup of mushroom coffee in hand, Brent generously took me on a tour of the farm—through the mango orchards, hay fields, and along the creek lines—sharing stories of the land and its rhythms. The weather was perfect, the vibe was warm and relaxed, and before I knew it, I decided to stay on for New Year’s Eve.
NYE itself was magic: friends and family, a BBQ, karaoke, laughter, and that rare feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be. Mighty Fungi Farm isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience rooted in connection, nature, and genuine hospitality.
I can’t recommend it highly enough and I’m already looking forward to my next road trip north and another visit back to this special farm. 🌱✨
