We have 55 acres of paddocks plus dams 10 minutes from Rockhampton City. We are 1 km from the Fitzroy River with boat access and fishing. A lovely, quiet spot with amazing sunsets. We've just opened a new toilet and shower block providing a relaxing space to wash off the dust after a day on the road. There is plenty to do in the area from fishing, cycling and rowing to relaxing with a book beside your own campfire (available depending on fire season/fire risk and in discussion with host). Horses, dogs and chickens reside here. Fresh farm eggs available.

Tranquil Valley is a small 3 acre property separated from society. Travel down the Forestry road / fire break all the way to the end to find quite literally - a Tranquil Valley. Nestled on 3 acres but surrounded by state parks and reserves, this property feels more like 100 acres. With short walks through rainforest to find different creeks and swimming holes, direct access to Forestry trails for bike riding and a short distance from many active hiking trails, you can simply rest up or plan to get active in nature. There are two camp spots available - "LingaLittleLonga" A flat, private camp spot perched higher on our property. Water and power an option at extra cost. No toilet or shower, currently a work in progress. Site has easy access and the option to park your vehicle with your camp. OR "Turkey Nest" - A walk-in only camp for those who wish to become one with nature. A drop dunny and camp fire grill is all you have with direct access to kayaking and swimming. A King Daddy swag and other essential items can be provided at extra cost.

Our property "Arcadia" is located at Moongan, which was once a bustling Railway Station at the top of the Rack Railway. "Arcadia" is just over 2 acres with a nice flat camping spot beside the seasonal creek. You will be camping right where early settlers once camped and watered their draught horses in bygone days. Teamsters would gather here and collaborate to join their teams together to traverse the steep Razorback bringing supplies to the gold mine and its workers. Behind the homestead the land rises steeply to overlook the valley below and offers nice views for sunset gazers. We are at the very start of a permaculture makeover, with the design phase still in progress. Our business is named Moonrise Organixs and we have a produce stall at the front gate with an ever increasing range of chemical-free products. We have an infant orchard, mandala veggie patch, tea garden, poultry and a small grass arena. We are a kid, dog and horse friendly property! There is an unofficial rail trail nearby and lots of tracks for horse riding, hiking, rock climbing and motor bike riding. The quaint Gold Mining town of Mount Morgan is steeped in history, with a full suite of facilities and is only 5km away. Rockhampton is 25km and Gracemere 15km away. If you are interested in the history of Moongan, just strike up a conversation with Angie and she will be glad to share what she knows. Please note: Mount Morgan is situated at the top of the great Dividing Range. There are two ways to approach Mt Morgan from the east - up the windy range road A3 Burnett Highway or up the straight and steep (17% incline) Razorback Rd. Our property is located at Moongan just at the top of the steep Razorback incline. USE LOW GEAR from the bottom as it gets steeper towards the top. Directions from Bouldecombe: 4km west of Bouldecombe, turn right onto Poison Creek Rd. Follow until the end (4km) then turn left onto Razorback Rd. In another 4 km you will reach the steep incline and our property is at the top. Despite the address being Leydens Hill Rd, the driveway is actually accessed off Razorback Rd. Don't turn down Leydens Hill Rd, especially if you are towing as this is a narrow road and turning around can be difficult. There is a pit dunny outhouse but no shower. We offer a 10amp outlet only. Please come prepared with whatever equipment is needed to convert to 15amp if required. Water is our most precious and limited resource so please arrive with full tanks and adequate drinking water for the duration of your stay. We are in a dry period right now so it is hot and brown. This is a leave no trace site. Please take all your rubbish with you when you leave. If no one is home to greet you please just choose a site in the front driveway paddock which suits you. 😉 We won't be far away. Come in peace, stay in harmony, leave with a full heart.

4. Bajool Camp to Great Keppel Island

A sleepy stay near Rockhampton and the gateway to Yeppoon coastline and Great Keppel Island. You can pitch a tent, park your vans, explore the town, anything you wish! Bajool is located on the Bruce Highway, 35 km south of Rockhampton and 74 km north of Gladstone. Eight-Mile Creek flows to the east of the town. Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit. Pets are allowed on leash.

Really lovely spot, stunning view of the sunset and there were beautiful birds flying around the camp. The showers were a god send, really nice and just what was needed after the drive!! The directions to the camp are spot on and the welcome and tour around was really appreciated (Poppy the dog was so so cute!)

We had a really nice time at Laurel Bank! It was our first time camping at an australian farm and it was just as beautiful as we imagined! We especially enjoyed the beautiful sunset, the calm atmosphere and the very warm welcome of Jo, Dave and the lovely dogs! If we ever get back to this part of Australia, we certainly come back here again!

The best of both worlds! A short drive out of town and you’ll be on a farm stay that feels entirely out of the way. You’ll likely have plenty of space with limited other campers, the showers and bathrooms have had loads of love and care poured into them to make your stay super comfortable, and your hosts are a fine blend of welcoming, chatty and friendly.

Very easy to find, we were the only ones there, had Pottable water and an electrical connection there too. The land was good and the lady was nice and had some beautiful horses on site and also had the most amazing dog Domino that came over for cuddles and strokes. Thank you for a great stay'
