Want to save! Book direct via our website. Charleys Creek Campgrounds, Chinchilla (previously known as Clover Hill Camping) is a unique campground right on Chinchilla’s doorstep. Set on 35 acres on the banks of Charley Creek, it has a beautiful bush land setting adjacent to the creek. A truly tranquil experience.
Recently rebranded the name to Charleys Creek Campgrounds as it is more fitting, as there is no clover, not much of a hill, and not in America (Ranch). This will also tie in with our other entities - Charleys Creek Beef and Charleys Creek Brewing.
We have a number of projects on the go and planned for the Charleys Creek entities to make every stay a unique and authentic experience. "Not just a campgrounds, its the experience". You are welcome to visit us, get to know us, and be part of our journey.
This campground offers toilets, showers, access to potable water, and power hook ups. Open fire pits, and fire wood available. It is a dog friendly property.
The story of Clover Hill Ranch-
In 2019 our livestock enterprise was struggling with the ongoing drought. Water was getting very low and we were buying hay from Victoria.
One day while checking stock on our grazing property Bradys (adjacent to Clover Hill Ranch) we looked across the near dry creek and said to each other - if we are going to endure this drought we need to do something different.
So we were able to acquire Clover Hill Ranch which was then being run by the CMCA under a lease agreement to the then owners. Then Covid struck and the CMCA left Clover Hill Ranch.
So we took it on ourselves and it has been a journey managing our four farming blocks Riverleigh; Coleridge; The Shanti and Bradys as well as Clover Hill Ranch.
Fast forward and it is now April 2021 we absolutely love it;
enjoy chatting with Campers about our story and we have even organised a Farm Tour route through all of our properties. The feedback has been amazing.
We are continuously doing improvements to Clover Hill Ranch with many new Powered Sites with town water and new campsites right on the creek. And everyone loves it when we bring out our trailer mounted meat smoker to put on a smoked Wagyu feast!
Campers can purchase our Wagyu and Grassfed Angus beef to try while camping and can even buy some to take home.
Activities available at Charleys Creek Campgrounds, Chinchilla:
include camping; fishing; kayaking; motorbike riding; bird watching
and bush walking.
There is accessibility for RVs, camper trailers, caravans and big rigs. Pull through bays available. Camping in tents is allowed. It is walking distance to Chinchilla town centre and Lions playground. Farm tours available upon request. Bookings preferable in advance to avoid disappointment.

Tincurra, once a lambing paddock for the old Wieambilla Homestead continues to be a working farm set on 211 acres. Located in the middle of Kogan, Chinchilla, Tara and Condamine.
Set up camp anywhere you wish on our 211 acre property either with the cattle or away from them. For swimming, we have 3 dams to choose from; and a creek which meanders through the back corner of the property; some very heavy wooded areas or more grassy areas.
Come to the main house for a coffee, sit down and share a yarn or two around a camp fire. Fishing and yabbying permitted on a catch and release basis. Outdoor movies, or have a game of darts. Bushwalking and birdwatching.

The private, 3 acre single booking, off grid (EV Charge) camp area is located on a large property, surrounded by private bushland and farm land. It is a working cattle property. (500 acres)
The nearest residence is 1 km away as the crow flies. You will be completely alone with the stars the moon and the sky. You will have access to walk most of the cattle property at your leisure.
15 minutes drive from Kingaroy. Please respect fence lines and the cattle.
The property is a semi arid grass land surrounded by Ironbark timberlands. You must adhere to fire ratings. We have easy, medium and black diamond camping sites available. One must do a easy before the other aspects of the property are available for camping. The easy campsite (pictured) can accept tents all season and camper trailers, RV's when it is in the dry season!
The entry level campsite is called Dragons Lake. It is run by a water dragon that likes to see you and is keen to see you go. The sky's are patrolled by a resident pair of wedge tailed eagles, all the reptiles you imagine in this country appear and are happy to do their own thing.
Local activities include Bacon Fest, Car racing, agricultural shows, music and of course peanuts. There are several hikes and mountain bike trails. Book your trip around something exciting, then retreat to solitude.
The rules are simple come, clean go clean. You can send through a Queensland certified weed certificate for your vehicle not more than 24 hours old; or have a quick inspection before you arrive, at most you will have to do a 20 dollar car wash. Lantana, Parthenium and fire ants are not something to be taken lightly. Your host wants people to be able to camp like they have but, not at the expense of this special place; that is healthy, vibrant and in control of weed species related to this area and the grazing practices.
Every site has access to water, swim in the dam NO SOAP IN THE DAM. The entry level site has access to water approximately 50m from the site and a dam. All other sites have access to dams for swimming and fresh water that is not potable. Bring your own fire pit and toilet, take what you bring, leave no trace. Hiking and mountain bikes only, (highly fragile soils). Limited selection of camping supplies for sale.

Fab stay @ Waverley Homestead, would highly recommend. We were lucky enough to have the entire place to ourselves, which made it very special - so quiet, and with stunning views over the paddocks, looking towards the distant mountains. Great for individual campers who like company, but would also be perfect for a small group of friends, as the campfire in the middle makes it great for socializing. Really enjoyed the company of Mikey - resident dog - who is such a sweetheart and hung with us until Gav came home to reclaim him. Gav is lovely - popped down to make sure we had all we needed, and we had a good chat, then he left us to enjoy the solitude. Awesome sunset, and although it was a super hot day, it gradually cooled down and we were able to have a wee campfire, which was magical. Stars were spectacular throughout the night and birdlife lovely to watch in the trees. Plenty of shade for us in our van and flat ground to park up on. Thanks for sharing your lovely land with us Gav & Andria, we'll be back. Melissa & Michael

251109 - Being fully self-contained we chose a 'non-powered site' adjacent to the creek located away from all the powered sites to which there appeared to be plenty. Privacy is guaranteed with very easy level access for large rigs (we have a 24foot van plus a LC200) and we still had heaps of room to spare. Whilst we could only 'just' see our neighbours through all the trees of this well maintained property, in the far distance, we could not hear a thing.
There are some amazing and very clean amenities. Great showers, toilets and laundry with a great family owned and operated private distillery on the property up at big shed that also accommodates saturday night entertainment and a cookout, worth the visit.
Located not far from the centre of the Chinchilla township that is fully serviced with all the essential 'go to's for grocery, hardware, pubs etc etc you would not be short of finding what you are looking for.
Don't forget to visit the Large Watermellon' slice so you can take your photo. It's a must do.

Absolutely stunning sunset views and nice and secluded. Took the advantage of the total fire ban and went to the bun pub for dinner. Awesome old pub with $25 steak night on Thursday nights. Very relaxing atmosphere with the sound of cows all around. Also a great show of stars at night.
Would be great for small groups 4-5 camps/ vans wanting to camp together with large communal fire out in the centre of the camp area. Look out for the resident magpie as he liked to swoop even sitting having your morning coffee. Friendly attentive host with delicious fresh eggs!

Our hosts were welcoming and guided us to campsite and gave advice for where to eat in town. Behind us were a couple of beautiful horses, to the left some curious cows and in front an amazing sunset. Simple and relaxing camping and bonus to have a rustic and clean flushing toilet on site.

Great open space with plenty of room for a drive thru site or large group with a big fire pit and amazing sunsets.
Plenty to see around the area with the Bunya mountains up the road 20 minutes and the The Bun hotel five minutes away for a good feed and a cold beer with great service.
Gav and Andria were very helpful on arrival and left us to enjoy our stay.

Thanks Gav and Andria for welcoming us onto your property. We had an awesome 5 nights camping off-grid at ‘The Pines’. The fire pit was a huge hit! The sunsets were unreal and to top it off the clear starry nights were mindblowing 🤩
We visited the local pub, ‘The Bun’ for lunch and a cold beer. The locals were friendly and we met the owner; a hilarious Irishman with a magnificent red beard!

Had a wonderful time at Gav & Andria’s.
We stayed for one night, wish we could have stayed longer. The grounds were super clean and well maintained. The firewood provided was of high quality and just the right amount. Cheap too! Our site had an epic sunset.
Amenities block was well presented and we even got free puppy time with Michael (the dog).
Will be back and hope to stay longer next time.

Weekend Trip to Waverley Historical Homestead
This is such a great place to camp with friends! The fire pit was definitely a standout! perfect for sitting around, sharing laughs, and roasting marshmallows. We also really appreciated how peaceful and family-friendly the whole area was. It had a relaxed, welcoming vibe that made the stay extra enjoyable. We’re already planning our next trip back.

Perfect spot for an overnight stay or weekend. Fires are well catered for, with an enormous fire pit and plenty of available ( fallen) wood. A super peaceful location and a full view of the universe at night. Our hosts Gavin and Andria, were terrific.
