We loved stayed at Nisha’s property, she was very welcoming and accommodating. She ensured we were comfortable and warm, provided fire wood. The facilities were clean, she even gave us some fresh oranges, which was a lovely gesture. Beautiful views, and garden, we would stay again!

The peace and quiet was awesome. Arthur and Cheryl both came to check in on us and let us know where to find everything and were very welcoming. Also very clean camp areas and Site 4 was nice an private and our dogs loved being off leash, will definitely visit again soon. Had place to ourselves the first night, second night some campers came in but we couldn’t see or hear them.

Nisha has a very special little piece of paradise. She is a very warm and friendly host and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for her. We loved having the camping area to ourselves with its own entry so you're not disturbing anyone as you come and go. The toilet and shower are clean and functional and close to the camping area. It really felt like being on a little trip away from home when you open the shower door and step out into the beautiful gardens on the property. The property is close to attractions, we enjoyed a walk to Nandroya Falls and visited Mungalli tea house. In the evenings we enjoyed a camp fire. But, the highlight for us has to be meeting Nisha's chickens and ducks! Our 10month old baby loved watching the birds scratch around and have their food. Nisha kindly gave us mandarins, passionfruit, eggs and pumkin grown from her garden. Staying at Nisha's property was an easy, comfortable and delightful mini getaway for our family of three from Cairns. We'll definitely stay again! Thanks Nisha!

What a great little spot! Plenty of shade, great sizes camping sites easy access to the river. Dogs were happy, large off lead space. Definitely a go too for a quick night or two, to hangout under the stars. Thankyou Arthur and Cheryl 🤩

We enjoyed staying at Arthur and Cheryl’s property. Sites are well spaced from each other and amenities block was tidy and functional. Only concern we had was lots of sensitive weed around the property. Wearing shoes is a must to avoid prickles.

We had a lovely time camping in a tent on site 5, surrounded by beautiful bush and close to the river. Very private and peaceful. There were a few sensitive weed prickles about, so shoes a must. We loved our swim in the river and seeing the cows. The owners were so lovely and very helpful with directions when we got lost in the dark finding the site! We can’t wait to stay again! The campsite is composed of spacious sites and private cabins with people who seem to stay permanently. The atmosphere is lush green and friendly with a river running through the property. We camped by a covered terrace with a huge bbq and dinner table which was great since it was raining. A highlight was to see crocodiles in the river just next to the campground.

We enjoyed two nights at this creek-side campground. Dean is a helpful host, and the site is a mix of camp spacers and a few long term residents. The area feels very secure and peaceful, and it’s obvious that Dean is continually upgrading the amenities in practical ways (better wifi, improving the bath & laundry facilities, creating a long entry avenue framed by LillyPilli trees), and discrete placemaking touches like solar festoon lights and creek-side hammocks. This is not so much a bush camp as a friendly community, with happy dogs that visit to say hello and a welcoming host who makes sure you have everything you need for a relaxed and trouble-free stay.

My stay at Three Falls was amazing, Nisha is such a gracious host and all round lovely person. The fire was kindly stocked with kindling and thoughtfully kept dry, was even gifted a couple eggs. The gardens offered a private spot all to my self and was a mini rainforest retreat, can’t recommend enough. Thanks Nisha!

I had a great stay with Dean at Hartleys Creek Retreat! One of the unique aspects of the property is that there are a few people who live on-site permanently, which really adds to the welcoming and communal atmosphere. It was nice knowing there was always someone around for a chat or to lend a hand if needed. The setting felt safe and friendly, and the locals gave the place a warm, lived-in vibe that made the experience even more memorable. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a relaxed and social camping spot!

We loved tent camping at pamona park. Chris and helen are very warm and welcoming even the dogs and the horses. It is very private and we really felt secure. We had a really relaxed weekend and we will definitely want to go back. Chris also gave us pomelos to take back home which is nice. Pomelos are really sweet too 👍

KUR-Cow Farm Stay

KUR-Cow Farm was once known as Barnwell Farm. Coffee was extensively grown throughout the Kuranda/Myola region in the early 1890's until frosts wiped out large numbers crops in the early 1900's. Robert William Warren purchased portions of the land at Barnwell in the 1890s and established a coffee plantation on the property which was named "Downtown Farm." Dairy cattle were bought to Barnwell by William Henry Barnwell in 1936 and by 1939 he had managed to successfully establish for a dairy farmer and was advertising for a dairy hand with remuneration of 25 shillings per week and keep. Dairy cattle remained on the property until some point following World War II. It has been said that William Henry Barnwell was one of the earliest cattle farmers in the Myola and Kuranda areas to carry Droughtmaster cattle. He was well regarded as a 'cattle man' in the Myola area. Opening to public in August 2018, Barnwell Farm now welcome visitors daily from all over the world. Offering its guests an interactive, Australia cattle experience with a little adventure thrown in also and exquisite cuisine. Our accommodation consist of 2 cabins sleep 2 adult and 2 children, the room is not interconnect but fence with our private court yard for dinning. Price include Petting Zoo entry for 2 adult and 2 children. Guided Horse riding and ATV tour is available daily and minimum age is 4 years old for horse riding and 6 years old for ATV. Lunch is available on Saturday and Sunday. Sunset Wagyu BBQ offer daily.

The river has cleared up and back to near normal flow. Visitors need to go through Mareeba A beautiful 160 acre paddock that you can enjoy. Cleared slashed areas beside the river. Enjoy a river swim to cool you down during summer and go for a cold dip during winter. River is also good for fishing during the right season. Access to river is 100 metres on graded walking track. Unless you have a ‘booster ’there is very limited mobile coverage or internet. {enjoy the peace and solitude} Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway. Sites are private separated from each other. Site is 300 metres from road and provides privacy. Tents and small caravans are ideal. Not suitable for highway caravans or very large vans as the access will be too rough. There are walking areas at rear of property. Be aware tropical North Queensland has paralysis ticks and we have snakes at times and visiting pigs. Water can be supplied upon request. Power generators are permitted . There may be minimal mobile service with Telstra. Campfire will only be permitted within fire pit. All campers will need to be self contained and leave no trace behind. Checkout is generally when you feel like it. Dog friendly. Site may be closed in the wet season from December to April, once monsoonal events occur

Our 20-acre exotic fruit farm backs onto World heritage rainforest and provides a relaxing base for which to explore the wet tropics south of Cairns. We have a beautiful freshwater swimming hole down the road, and also the Mulgrave River is very close if you want to do some fishing.The camping area is large, grassy and reasonably level, with space closer to the tree line, and space more out in the open. There is a firepit provided, and plenty of firewood around the place for you to help yourself to. We also welcome four-legged family members! We have had recent sightings of cassowary on our property so keep an eye out, you might just see one!We prefer self-contained campers, who have their own amenities, but we do have a toilet and shower up at the main house (about 50 metres away) you are welcome to use if needed. This is an unused bathroom downstairs so you will still have privacy. Access into the property is not suitable for large motorhomes. Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. When it's in season, you're welcome to sample some! Gordonvale is the nearest town, with a quiet historic charm, just 15 minutes drive away, while Cairns is around 25 minutes.
