This 30 acre property has been in the family for over 37 years and is where I lived my childhood. Now we are running a self-funded Horse Sanctuary and offering camping in a rural setting just a 2.5km drive from the township of Lowood. Our Land for Wildlife registered property has over 30 species of birdlife and many native animals including kangaroos, koalas and echidna.
Stunning sunrises and sunsets and all within walking distance of Lowood shops along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail which stretches for nearly 1km along the boundary. Situated halfway between Fernvale and Coominya makes this an ideal stop on your BVRT adventure or is ideal for a quick getaway being only an hour or so from Brisbane CBD.

Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in.
The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type.
Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you.
Note: There are no ground fires permitted and at certain times of the year Qld Rural Fire brigade may enforce a total fire ban.
We have our “Caffeine Injection” kiosk on-site for the weekends and school holidays. Get your morning caffeine fix as well as bagged ice, firewood, ice creams, snacks, cold drinks etc etc
Then we have the old school principals residence aka “The Bush Holiday House“. It is fully self-contained and all linen is provided.
Just BYO food & drinks. We offer this for one night stays and longer.
Jimna is a tiny town immersed in the Australian bush; with nearby gorges, ravines, creeks and waterfalls - some wild & spectacular places to see.

Being in a rural area we have strict guidelines for campfires. We follow all Local Government guidelines and the QFS. No blazing fires, all fires to be extinguished at night, no coals or ash to be left under trees or on the grass. We will pick up each morning coals and ash if required.

Nice and peaceful. And safe. And very nice countryside and getting at one with nature and animals. And good hosts too.
And the hosts brilliant on top of any potential issues and you can enjoy your space and relax surrounded by animals and nature.
I find it great I have my space and their no issues. And whilst the amenitys aren't five star fancy they are just as good if not better. The shower itself here five times better than the park I use to be in. Big shower head and hot water. The park I use to be in no hot water half the time and a fancy door mean nothing when the water cold. The farm have the comforts you need. And nice landscape to relax and enjoy. And it's a great place to be. And IV invested in the only thing not here. A portable washer for my clothes.

We (6 adults) loved our time at seahorse meadows! Beautiful area, kind wildlife and stunning horses that come up to you for pats.
Host was wonderful, open to questions and very inviting. She never bothered us unless we needed to ask her something.
Camping areas are flat, and you’ll probably never be near other campers.
Only thing I can say is Beware of the mischievous pony!!!!! 😂😂

We had a fantastic 2-night, 3-day stay at this peaceful property in Lowood, hosted by the wonderful Lynette and Lauren. This is the ideal spot for true off-grid camping.
Important Note on Facilities: This is a primitive camp, meaning there are no shower or toilet facilities. Campers must be fully self-sufficient, but if you're prepared, the reward is pure quiet and space.
What it lacks in amenities, it makes up for in space and charm. There is plenty of open land and the entire experience was incredibly relaxing. The check-in and check-out process was easy and seamless.
The absolute highlight was the friendly resident horses! We highly recommend you pack carrots and apples to make some new friends.
For restocking supplies like wood and ice, the town of Lowood is only a quick 5-minute drive away. We highly recommend this spot for a peaceful, hassle-free getaway.

Michaela's place is delighted with creativities. There are art installations, studios, and even karaoke bar with lots of custumes to choose.
We enjoyed our camping time with doggos and horses. Besides, each camp ground is huge and far from eachother. We even had a dam view in the front of our camp ground!
Michaela always responds messages instantly and helped us a lot. :)) Would definitely recommend to come!

Michaela’s land is peaceful, scenic, and full of charm—perfect for a relaxing getaway. What really stood out were the friendly farm animals, especially the pony, pigs, dogs and horses, which added a unique and fun experience. The property is well cared for, with plenty of open space. The sunset and scenery were absolutely beautiful, and our children were fascinated by the daily activities.
We loved meeting the lovely birds, the wild animals, and especially riding on the proud tractor that took us around!

Great spot, just out of Lowood. A gate from the property on to the rail trail was excellent for a bike ride. Great communication. Track in was a little rough but this was communicated well and ok with our set up.
