You can recharge your electric bikes at your site after a day on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Nearby attractions include Atkinsons Dam, just a 5-minute drive away, and Wivenhoe Dam, only 10 minutes away. There’s plenty to explore and enjoy during your stay, so why not bring your boat?

We are a 90acre private property who raise cattle and goats and have opened up to campers who, like us, prefer and love peace and nature.

Our rules are really not rocket science, don't take things that are not yours, use the toilets instead of our bush, don't cut down trees or damage things, that includes damaging trees, don't leave anything but ash in the firepit ,make sure the fire and coals are fully extinguished, remove your rubbish and respect and consider your fellow campers and our neighbors.
Axe throwing has recently become popular within the city, if you must try it on the property , bring a board, our trees are not to be used as targets.
Stay out of our gated paddocks. This is for Biosecurity and your safety.
We are trying to create peace and tranquility that people crave so much when they get out of their busy lives. We are not the place for rowdy parties or large groups.
Most of our sites are nestled on different levels between trees and bush, so you may feel like you are the only ones there.
Campfires in the provided fire pit or drum only. Due to the unique surroundings we offer, we do require you to be extra vigilant with fire safety.
You are most welcome to use your own off the ground firepit anywhere in your site.
Please read site descriptions carefully as we have sites that are substantially different in access, privacy , level ground and distance to a toilet.
Our property is dog friendly to responsible dog owners
We have a large farm dam that never runs dry, (NO fishing)
Wamuran is less than an hour north from the city.

Not far from here, Somerset Dam is popular with water sports lovers, and fishing enthusiasts. Pack a picnic and settle in for the afternoon beneath a shady gum tree along Lake Somerset’s shores.
We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower and drinking water. Access to rubbish facilities is provided. The camping area is 2WD accessible.

What a great spot to camp!
The dam was awesome for swimming.
Top toilet facilities, very clean, follow dunny instructions regarding what NOT to flush.
Ordered firewood when booking, was there waiting for us. Plenty of bird life morning and evening to enjoy. Easy to find, instructions were simple. Great hosts. Our third time staying and we'll be back again.

This is an excellent property. The individual sites are nice and private with ample space. The toilets are clean and tidy and well maintained.
Access to the dam for a swim is also excellent. I have been a couple of times now and will certainly return.

First time camping at WoopWoop but not my first stay at The Rustic Resort. I've never had a bad time out here. The site was private, extremely well maintained and Doris went above and beyond accomodating an early check in. As always, I can't reccomend this place enough and look forward to my next visit!

This was our second time staying at Rustic Resort, but beside the dam this time. Beautiful location right beside the dam, lovely flat patch to set up camp on. Toilet amenities were clean. We loved watching the cows graze on the hill, and the wildlife/birdlife. My dog particularly loved swimming in the dam to cool down - as did we! And as always, it was lovely to have the hostess, Doris, popped in for a chat. Given this little peace of paradise is just 4t mins from home, it makes for a great getaway and we will most definitely be back! Thanks for having us again, Peter & Doris!

We camped at Coominya Getaway for a week and a half over our xmas break and it was fantastic
So close to everything!
Our son absolutely loved being able to see and pat the horses and see the cattle next door.
Saw a koala in a tree one night, we found that super cool!!!

Such a great spot to camp so close to Brisbane. The toilet is close to camp site and super clean. The beautiful big dam was my favourite part, great to float around and cool off. The owners, Peter and Doris are lovely and were so helpful when we had a bit of a problem on the last day. Loved it so much have already booked a return trip!
