In May 2024, we completed the first of our glamping pavilions. These pavilions have allowed us to provide our first step of offering a variety of accommodation options for our discerning guests. This project received tourism grant funding from the Australian Government, which has allowed us to expand on our original concept and has made the glamping pavilions really quite special.
Our amenity buildings have undertaken a fresh makeover which now provides state of the art washing machines and dryers with tap and go payment options - no need for coins. A vending machine for that late afternoon or evening snack, immaculately clean bathrooms and a camp kitchen with shared facilities for those campers who like to do their own thing.
Our Food & Beverage van is now open and offers a variety of food choices. Open daily from 12pm to 8.00pm (season dependent) we invite our guests and locals to come and enjoy our beautiful park setting.
With a multitude of accommodation options for the most discerning guest, Daintree Beach Resort is becoming the destination, not just a place to stay.

This was a lovely family orientated campground with a great backdrop of the hills behind Cairns and lots of bird life in the trees. The bathroom was nice and modern and very clean. The laundry facilities were also excellent. There is lots to do here with pools, waterpark and golf. Pizza at the bar was also really good.

A little spot of paradise right here on earth. I felt as though I were wandering the Amazon. Dead white sand, crystal clear water, cool and green, jungly trees reaching across the creek, a place to restore your soul.

This place is truly your ultimate camping experience. The land where we camp is large enough for multiple caravans and level. Right in front of where you camp is the most magical fresh water creek. Plus your own private waterfall which is a short walk from your site. This place is truly so special and magical. Hubby and I have a rule that we never return to the same place twice. In 15 years of travelling around the world- this place is the only exception

We so enjoyed our stay, one of our favourite camps ever. I would return to the area just to stay here again. The beautiful gardens welcomed us in, and our beautifully private lush campsite was easy to access and well presented. The crystal clear creek was the cherry on top, and beautiful Blue the border collie was a great tour guide up to the private waterfall. I loved the company of the horses and dogs so much, and Jodie was a lovely host. The wildlife surrounding us was beautiful, and we even saw fireflies at night. Just, incredible. This was an amazing campground! You are not packed in like sardines. There is so much space between sites. The bathrooms/showers were clean and tidy. The food truck/bar/dining area are a great bonus if you don’t feel like cooking after a day of adventure. I’m from the US and camp quite a bit. It is quite possibly the best campground I’ve ever been to.

The best luxury camping near Cairns guide
When to go
April to November is the best time to visit Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef and the tropical north. Any other time, it’s hot and humid. It’s also the time of year when water visibility for snorkelling and diving is at its best. Summer is less popular, due to the heat, hence camping areas will be less crowded. May to September is the peak camping season.
Know before you go
- Remember to pack sunscreen; the north Queensland sun can be fierce. Check out sunscreens that won’t damage the coral reefs (those that don’t contain oxybenzone or BP-3).
- Camping permits are required for all Queensland parks, forest and reserves and must be booked online and paid for before arrival.
- Despite its name, Nudey Beach on Fitzroy Island isn’t for those who want to bare all. In fact, nude beaches are banned in Queensland.
- Boat transfers are available to the two free campsites on Russell Island in the Frankland Group National Park, just south of Cairns.
