Plenty of fantastic swimming holes nearby including Josephine falls and Babinda boulders very popular spots for tourist and the locals. Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ. Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night. Swimming in the creek is not recommended. So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area. A little spot of paradise right here on earth. I felt as though I were wandering the Amazon. Dead white sand, crystal clear water, cool and green, jungly trees reaching across the creek, a place to restore your soul. Jodie and her dog, Blue, were super friendly. Simply fantastic all round.

This place is truly your ultimate camping experience. The land where we camp is large enough for multiple caravans and level. Right in front of where you camp is the most magical fresh water creek. Plus your own private waterfall which is a short walk from your site. This place is truly so special and magical. Hubby and I have a rule that we never return to the same place twice. In 15 years of travelling around the world- this place is the only exception Jodie is so wonderful and welcoming. Please please please respect this place and leave no trace. Jodie thank you so much for allowing us to stay here. It really is one of a kind Oh my god! I forgot to mention the 2 most friendly and kind camp doggos that will come say hi and Blue will lead you to the waterfall like a little rainforest wizard guide haha

We had a real magical time here, Emma was a brilliant host! She showed us and the kids around the farm letting us meet her goats, feed the cows and collect eggs from the chickens. She even brought baby goats down to the camp-site to let the kids feed them milk and meet some very friendly dogs. She even gave us trays of eggs that where collected that day from the chickens! Luckily we got to see a baby cow being born during the night and she walked straight up to meet us in the morning! Your kids will love this spot! Camp site had everything we needed from toilets, showers, fire pit and power. Only a short drive away from other activity spots like lake eacham and yungaburra. Was a lovely trip full of memories will definitely be back

Beautiful little private spot next to the creek filled with fish and turtles. There were small rubbish and recycling bins provided, as well as an outhouse with a portable toilet which was kept very clean. Couldn’t swim in the creek as there has been recent croc sighting nearby but still great to camp by.

We so enjoyed our stay, one of our favourite camps ever. I would return to the area just to stay here again. The beautiful gardens welcomed us in, and our beautifully private lush campsite was easy to access and well presented. The crystal clear creek was the cherry on top, and beautiful Blue the border collie was a great tour guide up to the private waterfall. I loved the company of the horses and dogs so much, and Jodie was a lovely host. The wildlife surrounding us was beautiful, and we even saw fireflies at night. Just, incredible. Thank you so much Jodie and family!

Where to go

Wooroonooran National Park

A 20-minute drive inland brings you to the wild rivers and waterfalls of Wooroonooran National Park, where you can hike through dense rainforest, go canoeing through scenic gorges, or tackle the mountain biking trails of the Misty Mountains. Highlights include the Mamu Tropical Skywalk and Queensland’s highest mountain, Bartle Frere, while campers can choose from three campgrounds with space for tents and camper trailers.

Tully Gorge National Park

Just south of Wooroonooran, the Misty Mountains tumble down into Tully Gorge National Park, where outdoor adventurers can hike, kayak, and go white-water rafting in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. There are also natural swimming holes where you can cool off and two campgrounds with unpowered sites for campervans and motorhomes.

Great Barrier Reef

With easy access to Cairns, Bramston Beach is well situated for discovering the UNESCO-listed Great Barrier Reef. The underwater world of dazzling corals and diverse marine life is best discovered on a snorkelling or scuba diving tour, but you can also cruise the reef on a glass-bottomed boat, camp out on a barrier island, or take a scenic flight.

When to go

The (comparatively) cooler, dryer months of April through November provide the most favourable weather for forays into Queensland’s Far North. This is prime time for snorkelling, diving, and outdoor activities, and coincides with whale-watching season (July-Sept). If you’re hiking and camping in summer (Dec-Feb), come prepared for soaring temperatures, high humidity, and regular downpours.
