Weekend Trip to Middle Camp Berry Springs

We absolutely loved our stay at Middle Camp! It’s a fantastic place to camp with dogs, and we really appreciated that they allow more than just one or two—we were able to bring our three pups without any hassle. The owners clearly take pride in maintaining the campground, as everything was beautifully kept and spotlessly clean. Unlike most places at this time of year where the grass is usually dry and crunchy, the grounds at Middle Camp were lush, green, and soft—an absolute treat! The amenities were outstanding—clean, modern, and comfortable. The warm showers had a fresh, updated feel, and it was great to have access to a washing machine if needed. It made the whole camping experience feel a bit more luxurious. We also loved the location. It’s super close to Berry Springs Tavern, making it the perfect spot to set up camp while exploring Berry Springs and even taking a trip to the wildlife park. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, with enough space and privacy that we hardly noticed our neighbors. We felt comfortable and safe throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back! Middle Camp exceeded our expectations and made for a memorable and enjoyable getaway.

1 night at Wells Creek Retreat

We were Mel's first guests and she couldn't do enough for us. She was super welcoming and her property is a gorgeous oasis about 2kms from Coles, Woolies, Kmart, mechanics and fuel at Coolalinga. Not far from Darwin city and Berry Springs. Easy day trip to Litchfield from here too. Site 2 is huge and offers lots of shade or open grass areas depending on what you prefer. Bit of bushland seperating the two sites on offer, so feels private. Gorgeous little creek to splash in and some lovely green grass for my pup to roll around on, as only just coming out of the wet season. Designated fire places to relax by. Walking tracks nearby too if you fancy a stretch of the legs. We even saw two kangaroos at dusk! Dog and tent friendly which is great! We will be back for sure! :-)

We love rolling out the swag at Middle Camp! Our family loves camp 3 closest to the dam, it's a favourite for the little ones. The amenities are always clean and convenient. I am pretty sure I have camped at all 4 sites, as a family and solo.. and absolutely will go back during the dry season, as it's not too far out from the city. The camp is well looked after and it's close to berry springs pub and all the water spots in Litchfield!

Campsite was really well kept with a fire pit at every site. Amenities were incredible with toilet, hot shower and washing machine. Directions were clear and communication with the host was really easy. The camp is also pet friendly.

Great little spot close to Darwin. Heaps of shade amongst the trees, nice clean toilet block. Only down the road from Darwin river tavern which has a great new pool to cool off in. Good communication from Georgina, would happily come back.

6 nights at Rum Jungle Ridge

Absolutely perfect spot. The creek was just beautiful we had a really peaceful stay. The hosts were extremely lovely and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

5 nights at Casa Carambola

Our stay at Casa Carambola was truly exceptional. Molly and her family were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and went above and beyond to assist us. When we had car trouble and needed to visit a mechanic, they took the time to research the best options and provided us with helpful recommendations. They respected our privacy throughout our stay but were also wonderfully accommodating. On an especially hot day, they kindly invited us into their home to enjoy the air conditioning, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. The location is convenient, with Woolworths, Coles, and plenty of food options nearby. The toilet and shower were in great condition, and the space provided everything we needed, including a place to charge our phones. Casa Carambola is a fantastic place to stay, with warm hosts who make you feel cared for and comfortable. We highly recommend it!

Wanting to escape the crowds? You need to go Somewhere Else! This is an exclusive and unique little getaway spot. Plenty of birds can be seen and heard around the shady and peaceful campsite and you may see some wallaroos that sometimes visit or pass by the campsite. Sit back, relax and soak up nature. Take a stroll to the campsite lookout. Enjoy some spectacular night time star gazing. There is no phone reception so you can be fully immersed in your outdoor experience. We are located just over 1.5 hours from Darwin, and about halfway between Katherine and Darwin via an old section of the original Stuart Highway. With only one site available you will have plenty of space and privacy. There is however enough space for 3 - 4 vehicles with vans so if you are travelling with your mates as a group you may book for extra vehicles. Please go to "Extras" in the booking platform to add additional vehicles and select "Add to Trip". We are just 15 minutes to Robin Falls, 20 minutes to Litchfield National Park's southern entry*, 30 minutes to Adelaide River, 45 minutes to Daly River, and about 1 hour to Butterfly Gorge. You will have plenty to see and do throughout your stay with us. Pets on a leash are welcome. Campers must have their own toilet and take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. *Access is subject to seasonal conditions so please check the NT Road Report for the current status.

Jean & John's Bynoe Stopover

The property is 40 acres of carefully maintained virgin rainforest. Our flora and fauna are exactly the same as nearby Litchfield National Park, unfortunately without any waterfalls. We have cleared about 10 acres of undergrowth leaving the trees for shade. Animals and other wildlife are abundant with the lilly pond on our front lawn being the only permanent water other than the Finniss River that they have in the area. We have hundreds of wallabies, goannas, frill necked lizards and plenty of bird life. Our pet Red Tailed Black Cockatoo "Butt" attracts the local wild ones, because she is happy they trust us so you can get closer to them than usual for photos. We have toilets and showers set up, the showers are cold water direct from the bore which meansminimum ground temperature so around 30 degrees not really cold at all. There is also a large wood fired BBQ in the same central area. The fish filleting table and boat cleaning area is also nearby. The local kites and other raptors including sea eagles and if you are lucky may see a wedgetailed eagle come in for fish scraps. Croc and dingo area - be aware! We are on the narrowest piece of land between the Finnis River and the Bynoe Harbour so although unlike my neighbours I haven't encountered crocs on the property I'm well aware that they would cross it. The dingos are heard at night as they pass through the area so we request that all food and scraps are kept out of reach as we don't want to encourage them...The pool is a magnet to children and adults alike, it is very old so we request that care and respect be exercised. Each afternoon we gather on the deck for happy hour with the drink of your choice. This is a lovely relaxing end to the day sharing camping adventures and learning about other's lives on the road and often at home too. This is generally Butts photo session and she can be a poser. It's a memory of your stay unique to here as Redtailed Black Cockatoos are generally shy but our Lady is happy to stand on your shoulder and even sqwauk in your ear if she's being difficult. We allow fires in pigs or other ground fire pits as well as the large bbq. We have a few fire pits that you may borrow. This is governed by fire conditions of course and usually we follow the local rating .

Strangy's Place

The weather is warm and the site behind our pool is a nice space to be! It is lovely to be in a space where you are the only camper! The tropical gardens provide privacy and abundant bird life. The property is safe and secluded in the rural suburb of Virginia. We are situated in the Darwin Rural area on 5 acres of bush land with tropical gardens and a saltwater swimming pool. There is a variety of bird life, lizards, frogs, and possums. You can feed our friendly butcher birds and King Fishers on the fly from our verandah or pool area. Sit with the fish pond and chat with the turtle who is very shy! We have dogs that live at the property so pets on application only. (we do have a dog cage available if required and can pet sit for a day if required ) We have caravan sites for fully self-contained caravans and unpowered sites in the horse yard. There is a single shower / toilet block available at the top of the driveway. We do have power to some sites, and we would appreciate it if you do not leave air conditioners running while you are off site. If you are travelling in a group, we can accommodate you in a large open area if your group would like to stay together. Each caravan site has its own fireplace for your use. Only 5 minutes from Palmerston or Coolalinga, 25 minutes from Darwin CBD. If you are looking for a local fishing tour, we can hook you up with the locals. We have many fishing and crabbing locations close by on the Elizabeth River, Middle Arm or around Darwin Harbour. Hillier Hideaway is a beautiful 5-acre property located 2 minutes from Coolalinga Central. With 4 well shaded, spacious sites this is the perfect place to pull up and explore Darwin and its surrounds. Sites are not visible from the road and there are no dirt bike tracks or open land adjoining the property, making this a very secluded and safe site. We can accommodate vans up to 24 feet and have 1 dedicated site for either a camper trailer or tent. All sites have no power or water, so you will need to be fully self-sufficient. There is however a single shower and toilet for use if needed. There is a dump point at the Caravan Park across from Coolalinga Central that can be used for a small fee. All sites are well maintained with plenty of shade, please note during the dry season the grassed area will die off. There will be areas allocated for small campfires and guests must follow fire bans as the restrictions come up. There are wild peacocks that come in at dawn and dusk to get their daily feed, guests are welcome to come watch, Burdekin ducks and possums at night. Pets are allowed however dogs must remain on a lead as there is allot of wildlife that call the property home. We can also store caravan/boats on the property if needed, contact us for further information.
