All sites are accessible by 2WD and 4WD vehicles via a clearly marked gravel road.

In close proximity to us are shopping centres, surfing beaches and areas of outstanding natural beauty.
We operate as a cottage industry, processing alpaca fleece & manufacturing products from it. We regularly conduct tours & maintain a small farm shop.
We also offer a full range of home-cooked meals.

We had such a lovely stay at Ina and Lance’s site. The macadamia farm/forested fairy glen is beautiful. It's lush, quiet, private and incredibly peaceful. It’s the kind of place where you immediately slow down and relax to the sounds of nature.
Ina and her family are genuinely warm and welcoming hosts, and you can really see how much care they’ve put into the property. The old silos they’ve converted are a great touch - the BBQ/recreation area is both practical and charming, and a really nice spot to spend the evening.
The bathroom silo was spotless and well set up, with good lighting and a proper hot shower, which was much appreciated.
Everything felt clean, thoughtful, and well looked after.
Overall, it’s a special place that feels personal and well cared for. We’d happily stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature.

The farm was absolutely stunning! Lance and Ina were wonderful hosts. Very welcoming. We bought some macadamia nuts from them which I cannot wait to try!
The camp site itself was also gorgeous. Completely secluded with a self built little hut and toilet/shower hut. Amenities were super clean and well kept. Would definitely want to visit again!! Thanks a lot :)

Hosts Ina and Lance are lovely and provided all the directions and support during our stay.
We loved the campsite and ammenities. The farm is beautiful and very special.
We enjoyed waking up in such a peaceful environment and would recommend it for anyone to camp at Bush Silo as well 😊

Lance and Ina provided an amazing camping experience. They greeted us on arrival and proceeded to guide us to the camp ground taking great care. Their camp ground provided both grassy areas as well as an undercover silo which could be used for small gatherings by a fire. They have also refurbished a water tank so that we were able to shower. Excellent facilities and service, I would highly recommend a stay and we will absolutely be returning in the future.

I loved this place, just surrounded by Macadamia trees. The Silo is way more cozy that what we were expecting.
It was rainy, so Lance let us place the tent undercover, and the bathroom is one of the cleanest I have ever seen. Highly recommended if you need to stop and go or for a few days as it is very close to Ballina and Byron.

Craig’s Private River Camp was the perfect destination for a relaxed camping Christmas with the extended family. There is plenty of space with not another soul in sight. Numerous potential sites to choose from each with a beautiful outlook. The river was a short walk from our selected camping area and we made use of the beach area with shade from a beautiful tree next to the waters edge. We also made use of the Kayaks available on site to do a bit of river exploring.
We are definitely planning to return.

The place is lovely. You camp in the middle of a macadamia orchard, very far from hosts and anyone else so you can be as loud as you like. There is a toilet and a shower with hot water. The hosts were pleasant and accommodating. You can also buy some macadamia from them (that they grew) for a reasonable price for cash. Checkin and checkout was easy. Would camp here again if I come down there again.

When to go
The water is warm enough for swimming from September through April. Jacaranda season is late spring, with a jacaranda festival in early November. The Maclean Highland Gathering takes places in April, featuring Scottish games, music, and dancing. Yamba’s prawns are perfect year-round, and with so many beaches to choose from, there’s always good surf nearby.
Know before you go
- Yamba is a 7-hour drive north on the Pacific Highway from Sydney, or about a 3-hour drive south of Brisbane along the same coastal route.
- Several local surfing schools offer kayak hires and surf lessons, including the Yamba-Angourie Surf School, where three-time Australian surfing champion Jeremy Walters shows newbies the ropes.
- The cliff-top Pacific Hotel is a fantastic spot for a sundown drink with a phenomenal view. This spot also does good pub bistro classics and usually has live music on summer weekends.
- Among the best places in Yamba to buy prawns is the Prawn Shack, run by the Clarence River Fishermens' Co-op at the Yamba Marina. The seafood comes straight from the fishing trawlers, and you can’t get much fresher than that.
