Weekend Trip to Millingandi Station

What's not to like about "Millingandi"? Nothing! This camp was our first ever Hipcamp and we weren't disappointed. (With the exception of the clunky Hipcamp booking site + the gazzillion emails we received from Hipcamp with all sorts of useless info!) We spent two nights here in the caravan section on a level, grassy site, complete with power, water, dump-point and a lovely walk down to the pontoon on the lake. Free firepit provided and the option to purchase firewood that was delivered to our site by Brett. All for $30p/n (off peak). Jodie and Brett are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make your stay very pleasant. Oh, and Brett grows delicious oysters for sale if you're interested!! We'll def be back! 🙂

2 nights at Millingandi Station

Perfectly situated between Pambula and Merimbula. Great spot by the river loads of birdlife and fish a plenty. So nice to have a fire by the river. Highly recommend to those travelling through it’s an easy stress free stop. Cheers Jodie and Brett.

Weekend Trip to Riverview Farm, Bodalla

It's peaceful... no one travelling past your camp, no one walking through your camp. Its your own paddock to relax in, secure knowing no prying eyes looking over your equipment, allowing you to safely explore surrounding areas safe in the knowledge your gear will still be there when you return. Sharon was cheerful and friendly and guided us to our site and took the time to explain where the best places to access the river. The site is reasonably flat and an easy set up , we had a resident possum in the old dead tree that would come out at dusk and look us over before climbing through the trees foraging for the night. Will visit again and try another site.

Weekend Trip to Scout's Run Private Creekside Camp

While the weather wasn't the best, our weekend at Scouts run was lovely! The sites are closer together than expected, but as we were the only ones booked it was private enough. The creek looks amazing and we would love to come back in summer ☀️

What a spot! Did not disappoint. Great big site right in the river, sound of bellbirds, awesome big fire pit. Definitely worth getting the trailer full of wood. Excellent value 👍 we didn’t leave our site for the 3 nights. Kids fished, lots of room to set up badminton. We were lucky enough to be the only ones there. Lush green grass. Very friendly hosts. Will definitely be back. We have a large rig and had no trouble on the road in or getting down to the river. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property.

We loved our stay at Millingandy station. The paddock was perfect for the kids to run around and ride their bikes. They loved going down to the river too and meeting Milli the dog! Perfect location too, an easy drive into Merimbula and Pambula. Would definitely stay again.

We loved this campsite so much. The pictures were exactly what was there and both Jenny and Arthur were so accommodating. The toilet was the cleanest outdoor toilet I have ever experienced. Will definitely be back!!

Beautiful area with well kept toilets and choice of powered an unpowered sites. Firewood and fire pit available on request. Jodie was very kind to have it ready for us before we arrived. Would highly recommend staying here! Nice and close to Merimbula too!

Highly recomened for those who love get away and switch offf and Having the entire place to yourself Great river access for kayaks fishing mountain bikes bush walking bird watching and in warmer months swimming Great for our extended Family group and one dog 4x4 camp trailers a swag and a tent . Very well maintained big cleared flat grassy areas The facilities are excellent loved the added bonus of camp kitchen area and we also rented the cabin. all spotlessly clean. The owners gave us very clear instructions and We had no trouble with the toilet or the hot water showers just need patience and maybe take notes before you head in as it’s Patchy even Telstra reception We had added bonus as we had acess to internet thru starlink provider. 1 hour drive mainly on dirt road to Bodalla 4x4 easy pulling camper trailers Would only recommend all wheel drive if you have high clearance and good tyres . We will definitely returning .

Jodie was a wonderful, friendly host who was flexible and thoughtful and helped us change to a site that suited us better. They had a you beaut veggie patch that they share with campers-yum. Toilet was basic but clean and smell-free. It is near the highway but we really did not notice the traffic while ww enjoyed the beautiful views and soaked up some winter sun. The river frontage sites are not powered and are shady and quite soggy after dome rain so not ideal for us. The paddock was very good. Milli their Jack Russel terrier was a delightful visitor with great manners who visited and played with our puppy for several hours a day. I highly recommend this place. PS no showers is a slight disadvantage in cooler months but a dip in cold ocean is a very refreshing alternative. Very close to Pambula and Merimbula and beautiful beaches

2 nights at Glennbrooke River Camp

Wow, what a stunningly beautiful campsite right on Billa Bilba creek which is really a tidal river. We had total privacy and it was so quiet, only sound was the wind through the trees and the occasional fish jumping out of the water. We even had a swim in the river. Nice and close, easy drive into stunning Narooma. Try out the Narooma pub pizzas - delicious and a great view too. Glenn and Brooke were perfect hosts. Highly recommend.

Jodie’s land was in a super convenient location, making it easy to get to and a great base for exploring the area. The price was incredibly affordable—great value for money! One of the best parts was getting a huge load of firewood for just $25, which kept us warm and made for a perfect campfire experience. Jodie was also a very friendly and welcoming host, which made the stay even better. Highly recommended.

We have stayed here before and really enjoyed it here. It is close to everything and is a very pleasant and attractive spot to camp. We particularly like it as we can have a fire and you are not crammed in next to one another. Would definitely recommend

Great location if you’re into paddle boarding, kayaking or fishing or like to be around a fantastic variety of birdlife. It’s only a 10min drive to fabulous beaches for swimming, surfing, beach walking and there’s even a great dog beach nearby. The communal veggie garden is wonderful and very generous. Our second time here and we’ll be back!

Sunset Point

When you stay at Sunset Point you have lake frontage onto Borang Lake ( 4km from Potato Point), which connects directly with the Tuross lakes. You are able to launch your own tinny at our private jetty. A firepit is provided and you can collect your own wood yourself, or purchase a $25 a wheel barrow load with your booking. Wildlife is plentiful here, so please respect the environment and clean up after your self. There are some amazing local beaches only minutes to Potato Point or down the back track 10 minute drive or, ride your pushie or walk (its a bit of a walk) - straight to Blackfellows Point at Potato Point. There are lovely walking tracks around the property and lots of fishing, kayaking, SUP or pop your Tinnie in and fish till sunset or just plain lazy days. Watch the sunrise or walk to the other side of the property and watch the sunset. Watching the moon rise on the lake is quite beautiful. Launch your tinny and go fishing or simply kayak or lazy around. The site is dog friendly, but your pet must be well behaved and not aggressive as there may be other campers and pets on the property during your stay and a Sunset Point Camp Cat. You may not be right next to each other but please respect other guests, with noise. Just 10 minutes from the charming village of Bodalla, which was founded on the back of dairy farming and cheese production back in the 1860s. 30 minutes drive either way to the hubs of Narooma and Moruya. No barking dogs and no loud music or parties. This is a peaceful getaway. Short car trip to famous beaches where you leave nothing but footprints. It's our secret!

Nerrigundah Tuross River Camping

Based near Mount Utopia, Nerrigundah, we fell in love with our little sanctuary in 2020. There are two families Dwayne, Michelle, Robbie and Sharon and their four boys Blake, Taeg, Cooper and Flynn. Campers at heart, we started spending nearly every second weekend in our campers and this lead to many a night discussing what else we could do to make this property a place for others to use. It is a work in progress and there is plenty more to come, currently there is a ablution block that is up near the old house site, we decided it was best to have the camp area closer to the river. We have since added a camp kitchen, large undercover area and two cabins (for our own use at this stage). Enjoy direct access to the river plus more swimming areas on the property. Campfires are permitted. There is some firewood on the property but probably best to bring some of your own. There is Telstra service enabling mobile coverage if needed especially for emergencies. 4WDs are recommended to access this campsite. During the rain we recommend 4WD only. In dry you can access with an all wheel drive. Please message us if you're unsure about weather conditions and your vehicle. Our little piece of Utopia is still a work in progress but is picturesque as well as peaceful. Your furry family member is welcome to join you. We hope you enjoy our little Utopia.

Jackie is always willing to give fresh produce from her veggie garden during your stay just to make you feel welcome. There are horses you can pat and a few sheep that are very friendly and love to be given bread. The historic Bega Cheese Factory and Heritage Center is just a couple of minutes away. The main shopping center and mall in town is just a five-minute drive. On our property, we can offer you a relaxing quiet stay in a secure area. Riverview Kiah

Riverview Kiah is offering one campsite nestled on a very quiet part of the Kiah/Towamba river. To minimize impact on neighbors and make your stay more enjoyable, there is only one campsite offered on the whole property, so apart from the owners you will have it all to yourselves. You will need to be a self-contained camper who brings their own camping toilet/shower. We offer access to water via a 1000l pod that is close to the campsite. This water is drinkable and may be used to fill jerry cans/ wash etc. We just ask you to please be frugal with usage. The campsite is situated on a grassy knoll a mere 30m away from your own private beach, which is ideal for fishing kayaking and swimming. The Kiah / Towamba river is well renowned for its excellent fishing. Live bait or soft plastics are best. Live bait can be sourced at nearby Nullica beach or alternatively, frozen prawn's, pipis or salted pilchards also yield success. Some of the species that call the river home are, Flathead, Bream, Luderick, Whiting, Estuary Pearch, Jewfish, Mullet and Flounder. If you bring your kayaks, canoe or roof top tinny the river is very picturesque with unique photo opportunities and an abundance of wildlife. You can head upstream for a way but if you're feeling up to it, it's about a 2.5-hour paddle (at a slow steady pace) to the mouth of the river where Davidsons whaling station is located, as well as the view across the bay to Eden. If you time it right, you can go and return with the tide. Two kayaks and life jackets are provided with all bookings so that people without their own equipment are able to explore the pristine waterway. There is a large firepit near the river that may be utilized as long as there is no total fire ban in effect. If you have your own firepit that can also be used but there are to be no fires on beach or bare earth. Firewood can be provided at an extra cost, (please select in extras, 1 bundle will last 2 nights on average). Directions will be provided 48 hours before arrival; you are welcome to head straight to camp although if around I will meet and greet you upon arrival. Roagumba Farm

Roagumba, or Roa for short, is our 920 acre patch of paradise in the stunning Yowrie Valley, an area traditionally inhabited by the Yuin people. Roa is a working cattle farm, made up of approximately 60% cleared land and the rest native bushland. The Yowrie Valley is largely surrounded by the beautiful Wadbilliga National Park. It is a 35 minute drive to the beaches near Bermagui, whilst the historic and quirky town of Tilba is 40 minutes away. The crystal clear Yowrie River flows along the western side of the property with numerous secluded swimming holes. The property is a working cattle farm so you're likely to meet some very friendly Jersey cows during your stay, as well as a lot of native wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats and birds. We operate three Hipcamp sites and two different locations on the property. Mountain Camp is a single site and offers complete seclusion and privacy, while River Camp is a double site and offers views across the valley whilst only being metres from the river. Both locations have composting toilets. We cater for small groups who are seeking a quiet, peaceful escape. Our sites are small and are capped at 6 people each, per night. To reduce traffic and out of respect to our neighbours, there is a maximum of 2 vehicles allowed per site. One additional vehicle per site can be organised, however we need at least 72 hours notice.

Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge

Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge is a 330 acre farm which provides sanctuary to kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas and many bird species including their habitats. There are Alpacas and Sheep, Kangaroos, Wombats, Kookaburras, Echidnas and many other animals that enjoy this property. The land has 80 acres of cleared grassland this side of the river, and for the adventurous and energetic you can rome the other 250 acres by crossing to the other side of the rive, there are large stands of rainforest and bushland, with 2.5 km of Brown Mountain Creek and its tributary meandering through it. There are some swimming holes and mini rapids; the crystal clear water flowing over the river rocks can be heard from most parts of the farm. The land comprises Little Brown Mountain and has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and farmland with wonderful cloud formations and mists contributing their mystery and beauty to the dramatic landscape. There is an orchard with trees producing several varieties of apple, stone fruit and citrus in abundance. A cottage garden produces various vegetables and herbs such as spinach, celery, potatoes, garlic, chives, lettuce, rocket, parsley, turmeric, peas, beans, tomato etc. Past bushfire damage to some trees in the cleared paddocks is evident however, many are recovering well and most provide photographers with interesting and dramatic subject matter. Due to the catastrophic events of the NSW bush fires in this area all camp fires must be kept responsibly safe and no unsafe camp fires will be tolerated. All Guests are required to have an acceptable camp toilet, no holes in the ground. All river access points are shared, be mindful of others. As dogs are welcome and even well behaved dogs will be dogs when it comes to their family, all guests are advised to make themselves known prior to going near another's camp site, then there is no surprises either way. Overview

Set on the shores of Boulder Bay in the south coast, Tathra promises campers prime coastal views, sandy beaches, and excellent fishing. This seaside town may be on the smaller side, but the abundance of natural activities and national parks make it a haven for camping. Tathra beachside accommodations vary from rustic campsites for motorhomes to glamping in cosy cabins and safari tents. After a good night’s sleep, zip across the bridge to Mimosa Rocks National Park to scuba dive to shipwrecks and birdwatch along the shoreline before jetting off to Bournda National Park. Spend the day here trekking along the coastline while watching for more local bird species. Beowa National Park highlights even more wildlife, with incredible whale watching from a historical lighthouse.

Where to go

Mimosa Rocks National Park

Just across Bega River sits Mimosa Rocks National Park, only a 10-minute drive from Tathra. Find holiday parks for tents, camper trailers, and caravans in the area with on-site amenities like picnic tables, BBQ facilities, and toilets. Avid divers can wake up and scuba dive to the Paddle Steamer Mimosa, a shipwreck that lays just off the coast, while beginners can swim, snorkel, and fish in Moon Bay or Nelson Lagoon. Take in the picturesque views from a variety of different headlands, and watch for waterfowl along the shoreline year-round.

Bournda National Park

Found 15 minutes south of Tathra, Bournda National Park abounds with outdoor activities. Kayak the Bournda Lagoon or the waters of Wallagoot Lake before sauntering down Sandy Creek loop track, then keep an eye on the trees for native bird species while walking. Bournda campgrounds welcome swags, tents, camper trailers, and campervans with a range of facilities and amenity blocks with flush toilets, showers, and BBQ areas.

Beowa National Park

The stunning rocky coastline of Beowa National Park sits an hour and a half from Tathra. Take on Boyds Tower walking track, a favourite for beginners, or conquer the multi-day Light to Light walk for experts. History buffs can check out Green Cape Lighthouse, where wildlife watchers can also scan the seas for migrating whales. Campgrounds in the park offer basic amenities, but there are more luxurious accommodations available too. Take a break from the tent and get pampered in a bunkhouse or heated cottage vacation rental with bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and fresh linens.

When to go

Every season in Tathra offers something special, which makes it a first-rate choice for year-round camping trips. Feathered friends flock to Mimosa Rocks National Park throughout the year, and if whale watching is top priority, plan to visit in spring between September and November. The hot and humid summers that last from December until March are an ideal time for beach lounging and exploring the waterways in Bournda National Park. Campgrounds will be at peak capacity in summer, so plan ahead and reserve a pitch when possible.
