Conveniently located 20 minutes outside the pretty town of Manilla and right on the river banks of the Namoi River. Also 20 minutes from beautiful Warrabah National Park. The campground is tucked away in a little valley overlooking an idyllic stretch of windy river with an amazing swimming hole, sandy beach, tranquil rapids and a beautiful, mesmerising, majestic rock. We have four primative campsites suited to all types of large and small, self sufficient campers in RV's, caravans, camp trailers, vans and tents. All sites are unique and positioned to enhance space and privacy as well as proximity and views of the river. They all showcase the varying, natural beauty and characteristics of the landscape. You can also book our amazing, award winning glamping tent. We are not a party campsite. Our little slice of paradise is for peace and relaxation. We also need to respect and encourage the presence and abundance of birds and animals and continue to ensure it is a peaceful and quiet home for them. You can enjoy your music just as long as other campsites and the local wildlife can't hear it. Manilla, only 20 minutes away has two dump points and water refill stations as well as a good number of shops to cater to all your needs during your stay. We are not in a high traffic area so you may get to enjoy having the place all to yourself. Our campsites have good access for all types of camp set ups and are not impacted by flooding. Nor do they become boggy in wet weather due to the high sand content in our soil. You could be sitting on the warm sandy bank overlooking the river and being captivated by the surrounding beauty and the magnificence of the swimming hole. This secret little piece of paradise has been untouched for 40 years and is home to an abundance of birdlife. Birds include the colourful Rainbow bee eaters, Kingfishers, Superb Fairy Wrens, Eastern Yellow Robins, Red Browed Finch and many more. A magical place that will delight your senses and make you feel relaxed and at peace. BYO camp toilet and leave no trace. Fish in the river; cod, cat, golden perch and carp. We are located near Manilla, which lies 45km northwest of Tamworth. You can purchase all you need at the shopping centres there, or in Manilla where you can can pick up groceries and fuel. We are suitable for caravans or motorhomes with self contained toilets and showers as we have no facilities. It is essential that visitors have these facilities. All waste must be removed. There is a waste dump station in Manilla. Our property offers flat access from the road, with plenty of room to manoeuvre. We recommend 4WDs - please message us if you are unsure about your vehicle. You are welcome to stay near the river or in a hidden valley. But again stress the need for self contained removable toilet facilities. Swim in the river and have a camp fire. Walk in the area, see the abundance of birds and wildlife. This is a hilly and mountainous area to explore, you are welcome to go fishing along the river bank, or bring a camera as it is a photographer's delight. Very private camping areas. Enjoy listening to the crackle of the campfire in the evenings. There is access to drinking water, but no amenities so you need to be a self-contained toilet/shower. Well behaved pets welcome.

Explore local areas such as Nundle (45 minutes to gold panning and the Woollen Mill) and Currabubula (30 minutes to the Curra pub), visit Goonoo Goonoo Station (magnificently restored and renovated historic sheep and cattle station now also an event centre and restaurant) and Dungowan Brewery (30 minutes to remodelled shearing-shed-come-restaurant and farm animal zoo). Church on Sundays is at St Lukes at 9:00am (7 minutes to local evangelical Anglican and morning tea is served). Four wheel drive access only. Maximum speed 20kms per hour. No power. No running water. No amenities. Please bring your own waste management which can be deposited to the green lid bin at the front gate. Campfires strictly only between 1 July and 1 September and never on a windy day.

Great spot, peaceful and quiet, surrounded by horses, chickens and ducks- perfect 👌. Close to the house but not a problem, no noise or intrusion. Bathroom close by. Great hosts. Easy cycle into town. Would choose to stay here again. Feeding carrots to the horses was my highlight ✨️

A beautiful view especially at sunset. Tight access with a medium sized caravan (15ft off-road hybrid). Freedom to pick a spot wherever we liked in the paddock. Unfortunately lots of thistles and long grass and no mown area so boots were necessary.

We really enjoyed our stay. The site is very private, nice and shady, close to the hosts house but you would not know. The amenities were nice and clean and Christine gave us clear instructions on how to get there and a warm welcome on arrival. Just remember to pack a converter as the power is via a standard 10amp. Definitely would stay again if travelling through Tamworth again.

Weekend Trip to Oakenville Farm, Nundle

I had the most magical time away at the Oakenville Farm Bell Tent. What a blissful adventure. From the beautiful Birdlife to the quirky chickens every part of my stay here felt like a home away from home. The lovely Rachel could not have been a more hospitable host, she was always around if you needed a hand or just a good old chat (which I definitely loved to do😂). The best way to spend the long weekend and get away to totally switch off. The tent was beautiful, comfortable and spacious, filled with plenty of blankets and a small heater to stay warm during the cold nights. I highly recommend this beautiful location to anyone who wishes to get away without having to organise anything except food and transport. Weekend Trip to Oakenville Farm, Nundle

Lovely little farm. 2 friendly dogs and Rachel is very friendly as well. If your not a fan of roosters its not ideal but if you're like me and love the chooks, ducks and dogs it's a great spot to stay. Not to far from town so it's a nice 1 kilometre walk into town.

Weekend Trip to Namoi Valley Escape

Perfect location on the river! Dave and Joce were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great camping trip! Plenty of fish in the river so be sure to pack a rod! Will definitely be back, and thank you to Dave and Joce for sharing their part of the world with us!

2 nights at Riverside Escape Off Grid Camping

Lovely spot on the Namoi river. Great for swimming and fishing. Swimming hole is excellent. Private camp is very private. Directions to campsite were clear and easy to follow. Would go again
