Maha Farm (Organic Macadamias)

11 sites · RVs, Tents25 acres · Valla, NSW
Maha Farm is a small family run macadamia farm that is peaceful and secluded. We are only about 10 - 15mins off the highway, far enough to not hear it. All camp sites are just off the entrance way and are on a ridge making for great views. We are 10mins from the nearest beach. Cafes, fuel and shopping centres are within 10 to 20 mins drive. Bellingen and Coffs Harbour are easily accessed via major roads and are approx 30mins away The property is surrounded by natural bush and backs onto a state forest. Wildlife abound including a resident family of wallabies, birds (we have counted about 7 rare/threatened species), frogs and many more. You are guaranteed to feel relaxed and in touch with nature. That said, it is a working farm and there may be noisy work taking place. We are in the process of transitioning to certified organic. Under Cover Area: All campers have access to a large undercover area (Wallabies Rest) where there is a picnic table, fire place and preparation bench, unless booked by other campers. Fires: Small fires are welcome, just make a spot where you see fit with the fire rings provided. Wood can be collected from the bush areas or purchased from the wood shed. Water: A rain water tank is available to campers for washing up etc Free Extras: Campers are welcome to walk down to the dam to the tyre swing and back. Farm and Bush-tucker walk. Infrared sauna. Bunny Patting with our Giant Flemish Rabbit. We are certified yoga teachers, a class can be arranged in our yoga studio. Help on the Farm: There are always jobs to do, let us know if you would like to help out in exchange for staying. Mobile Coverage: There is mobile coverage near by but there is not much coverage at the property, just enough to send a text if you re in the right spot and have the right provider, keep an eye on how many bars you have on your way in and where the last place is you have coverage in-case you need it. Things Near-By Lots of beaches, National Parks, Urunga Lido, Nambucca V-Wall, shopping centres, cafes, fuel. Further afield is Coffs Harbour Big Banana, Bellingen, Waterfalls at Dorrigo. Directions: 99% of the time the GPS maps on your phone work well but here are directions just in case... Don’t take Avocado Road. Stay on the main roads. The only dirt is at the end of morningside drive for about 100m, veer left. All roads to the farm are easily accessible and level for 2WD. For larger rigs though it is tight to turn around onsite.

Waterfalls & More

11 sites · RVs, Tents104 acres · Sherwood, NSW
HIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE! Pure. Unadulterated. WILD. 104 very private acres, securely sandwiched between a National Park Nature Reserve and State Forest. On a dead end road. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. Today the property is registered with Land For Wildlife and hosts a very wide mix of native vegetation communities. ACTIVITIES Bird watch. Climb. Abseil. Photograph wildflowers. Paint. Swim. In the next valley there's even gold to be found. Explore trails by mountain bike. Whale watch. Surf. Learn SCUBA. Go beach-combing. Catch a mudcrab. Go whitewater river rafting. Ask your host about where to find all the local waterfalls, the best walking, how to find gold, the gnarliest off-road tracks, Anything is possible here in this magnificent part of the world, except perhaps snow and ice.

5 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents170 acres · Nymboida, NSW
You will come here to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of `Black Mountain'. `Black Mountain’ is on Gumbainggir country. It is a registered conservation property bordering Nymboida River and Nymboi-Binderay National Park. Alastair and I have shared the property for more than 25 years and consider ourselves custodians of this precious place. Visitors enjoy: the pristine river; walking tracks through diverse terrain; starry night skies and campfires. Previous guests recommend staying at least two nights to soak up the atmosphere and explore the area. Choose from the 'Ant Shack' or four adjacent campsites with easy access and views to the Nymboida River. Shared facilities include a hot shower and composting toilets. You can walk, swim and kayak, explore the area or just relax for days. We can’t accommodate domestic animals or allow fishing, not even catch and release because we protect our wildlife and the endangered Eastern Cod. Black Mountain is remote but just 60 kilometres from Grafton or Coffs (via back way). 2WD access to our house is from Nymboida only. 4WD/AWD from Lowanna or Glenreagh and 4WD/AWD down to the river/campsite area - Not suitable for caravans.
