Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Bring your pets . Enjoy bushwalks on our 110 acre property. Enjoy a stroll to the creek. Enjoy a swim in the dam. Enjoy the peace amongst the protected bushland. Access: The driveway to the property is long and steep. A 4WD/AWD is recommended although not required. We make it up and down there in a Honda City every day however the first drive up may be a little daunting. If you have any concerns, please let us know and an alternative access may be arranged upon request and depending on the booking dates. The Site: The campsite has its own access and is surrounded by garden and bush with abundant wildlife. There are two dams nearby one of which has two kayaks for you to use and you can go for beautiful walks to explore the surrounding conservation bush land. A camping toilet with a small tent around is provided by us. The host’s house is a 5 minute walk away from the tent on the same property but cannot be seen or heard. While we are always available for questions and anything you need, we also value our privacy and will respect yours. Optional Breakfast includes: - Home-made granola - Cornflakes - Home-made bread - Jams - Nutellex - Free organic coffee; green and black tea - Free locally made organic herbal teas - Natural Harvest brand almond, soy or oat milk Optional Lunch/Dinner: - We have a variety of frozen home-cooked meals available for purchase if you just want to have a healthy meal without leaving the property. We also have frozen pizza or pies available for purchase. - We have a variety of local Hunter Valley wines, champagnes and beers available for purchase if you feel like a drink but don’t want to go for a drive. Kids: Babies and kids are more than welcome! Faraway is an organic farm that will have you immersed in the hills and feeling far away from civilisation. A chance to recharge and nourish yourself and your group at the base of the Barrington Tops 1 hour and 30 minutes from Newcastle, 3 hours from Sydney and 20 minutes from Dungog. Near Chichester State Forest and Barrington Tops National Park and bordered by the pristine Jerusalem Creek, the land offers beautiful bush walks, swimming holes and an abundance of wildlife. Special sightings include Orchids, Koalas and Lyrebirds Camping is located on the ridge line overlooking the Barrington Tops to the west. There is a 10 min walk down to the creek which has a swim hole and lovely spots for exploring and forest bathing. A bush toilet is available at the site. You may mindfully collect firewood onsite – eg. collect fallen timber only and leave it if it is home to other animals, otherwise BYO. While you’re sure to be interacting with many birds and wildlife there are also a small herd of goats, chickens and a couple of horses in the paddocks on the ridgeline, near where the owners reside. Nearby attractions include Chichester Dam and the Wonga Loop, Jerusalem Creek Falls and Dundungarra Falls walking trails. The town of Dungog just 20 minutes drive away has all your basic needs including IGAsupermarket, food coop, cafes, gift shops, restaurants, post office, hospital, butchers, chemist, mechanics and Dungog Common Mountain Bike Park and Walking Trails. Faraway Farm is drug and alcohol free, chemical free and pets are not permitted.

Pets are definitely welcome, but please be sensible and do not bring them if they are aggressive. Please pick up after him/her (there is nothing worse than stepping in a dog dropping). Horses also welcome - we have a fenced cattle yard. Hot Showers are available, but if you would like to use them please bring a container of water (not essential) to keep the water tank topped up. Toilets are placed around the property. We have communal sites plus separated private sites for those that would like some privacy. (If you would like a private site, please message us once you have booked). We also have a Fenced off Kids Playground. Buggys (allowed any weekend at an extra fee).
