Theres plenty of space for large groups and vehicles. As to maintain the private and secluded nature of this site, we have limited the space to 1 site only so you'll have the place to yourself! The bottom camp is small and level - good for single groups of 1-2 vehicles, the upper camp is on a bit of a slope and may require chocks for vans and the like, but great for larger groups. Both camps are adjacent to each other so you can take one, or take the lot! all included in the same booking and price
The Hunter River is a short 5min walk down the stone steps, where you and your dogs can fish, swim or enjoy a cold can.
The property has good access - less than 10mins from Hunter Expressway. 1hr40mins from Wahroonga, 40mins from Jesmond

Our property is located on a relaxed 5 acres at the gateway to the Hunter Valley. Enjoy the lush forests and views of the mountain nearby. There's a number of great lookouts nearby if you're up for a walk.
The Barn accommodation is great for groups who enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy your outdoor adventure with open living and eco tourism at the foot of the Watagan Mountains. Wildlife and bush tucker walks available.
Firewood provided for your indoor fireplace. You will have access to a camp oven and rotating grill, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. There are toilet and shower amenities, and access to drinking water.
There is phone reception in certain spots and limited wifi. There is no TV.
The barn can accommodate sleeping for 10+ and features two double beds, two single beds, one couch, two air mattresses and five floor mattresses. There is also a fully equipped gym.
You will need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bag etc for added comfort. Sleeping close to the fire upstairs is recommended in the cooler months. Camping is optional with nice flat spots near the dam under sheoaks.
Our campsites are equally as beautiful. Chill out in the shade by the dam during the day. Firewood is provided and you're welcome to use the camp ovens and the rotating grill, but if you get stuck cooking on the open fire there is a microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. These are situated downstairs in the barn a short walk from site. A great swim in the 50m dam.
There is access to toilets, showers, drinking water and rubbish facilities.

Our property is situated in the locality of Rosebrook, a fertile area steeped in a rich dairying history. We're only 10 minutes from Maitland and 25 minutes from the Vineyards, but the privacy of the camp site makes it feel like you're miles from anywhere. You've got direct access to the Hunter River with a sandy beach, great swimming holes and it's perfect for a peaceful kayak up or down stream, dependent on river levels at the time of your stay. Bring your own kayak or use ours for a small fee.
For those a bit more adventurous, we take you via road to our drop off point and you paddle downstream (a leisurely 3 hours) until you arrive at the beach near your campsite. There are heaps of places to stop and have some lunch and a swim on the way.
The site is a drive through level, grassy area and easily accessed by 2WD vehicle if you're not towing. For caravans and camper trailers, a 4WD is recommended but it's pretty easy going.
Pets are welcome, but MUST stay within the site paddock if not on a lead. Our neighbours have stock and it's important we are always respectful toward them.
A garbage bin and recycle bin is provided but you will need your own toilet. There is a designated area for a fire (when conditions permit) and we can supply firewood if required for a small fee.
We’ve kept things simple and natural because that’s the way we like it. It’s a true bush camp — plenty of space, plenty of privacy, and no fuss. We just ask that everyone who stays treats the place with respect and leaves it as they found it, so the next campers can enjoy it too.
Whether you’re here for a quiet weekend, a bit of fishing, or just to switch off from the world for a while, this is the place to do it.

La Cascina is a small property on a hill surrounded by trees and bushland. There are two main camping areas which would suite tent and small to medium van/car camping. There is access to neighbouring bushland with nice short walks available in the area. Only 20 minutes by car to Newcastle CBD, 10 minutes by car to Redhead Beach and 5 minutes by car to Lake Macquarie.
La Cascina is a great spot to stop overnight on a road trip or to get away for the weekend to relax. We have no toilets so please bring your own. The access to the property is a steep sealed driveway.
Site 1 is an open site with plenty of shade. The area is flat. More suited to larger camping setups. This site is less private. There is vision of the neighbouring property and an overflow campsite 50 meters away.
Site 2 is a more uneven surface area which is better for smaller vans and tents.
Redhead Beach is the closest dog beach 10 minutes by car.
Croudace Bay is a dog park on the lake which is 5 minutes by car.
This is a family owned acreage that brings the best parts of environmental living with the benefits of being close to the coast and a city. A very long time ago it was the site of a quarry. The nature has returned and we are left with a beautiful forested acreage.

Brightwater sits beside Olney State Forest and Kuluwan Flora Reserve. It is a 50-acre farm with a lovely spring-fed dam, with our nearby campsite. The site contains van parking, an open pavilion, an open deck by the stream, a fire pit, and a dunny. It is private and secluded, and with just one group staying at a time, you are guaranteed the space to yourselves.
Please go straight ahead on Collins Ave and enter through the car entrance, NOT the truck entrance which is off to the right. If you come in the truck entrance I can't see you.
There are many beautiful walking and bike trails in the area. Lots of wildlife to meet, including water dragons, wild ducks, and pythons, to name a few. There is also nearby evidence of the original occupants, the Darkinjung people.
You are also welcome to bring a couple of horses! There's a safe paddock with a trough and nice trails in the area to explore.
The Kulnura General Store and bottleshop is just 9km down the road for basic supplies.

At Lakestead Farm we pride ourselves on our beautiful environment. We have lots of wildlife around. We are very upset when visitors to the Farm dig holes and poo in them. Leaving toilet paper on top. This is so unfair to us and future campers on our sites.

Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions).
The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit.
You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here.
Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around!
Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances.

We are only 10-15 mins to Nelson Bay centre.
Beaches are just down the road also which includes Birubi Beach which goes all the way to Stockton and many more near by.
Right next door is Murrays Brewery and Sunset in the Vines, very handy to be able to walk next door (a really short walk) and have dinner and a drink.
Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road.
Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood if you would like, please let us know on arrival or before you arrive so we can have it ready, (this in not an extra it is included in the price). We can offer electricity for an extra cost of $10 per night if needed. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way, you will be camping (Approx 50 m from the house). Pictures show this. We endeavour to appreciate your privacy as much as possible.

The barn can accommodate sleeping for 10+ and features two double beds, two single beds, one couch, two air mattresses and five floor mattresses. There is also a fully equipped gym.
You will need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bag etc for added comfort. Sleeping close to the fire upstairs is recommended in the cooler months. Camping is optional with nice flat spots near the dam under sheoaks.
Our campsites are equally as beautiful. Chill out in the shade by the dam during the day. Firewood is provided and you're welcome to use the camp ovens and the rotating grill, but if you get stuck cooking on the open fire there is a microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. These are situated downstairs in the barn a short walk from site. A great swim in the 50m dam.

Our property is situated in the locality of Rosebrook, a fertile area steeped in a rich dairying history. We're only 10 minutes from Maitland and 25 minutes from the Vineyards, but the privacy of the camp site makes it feel like you're miles from anywhere. You've got direct access to the Hunter River with a sandy beach, great swimming holes and it's perfect for a peaceful kayak up or down stream, dependent on river levels at the time of your stay. Bring your own kayak or use ours for a small fee.
For those a bit more adventurous, we take you via road to our drop off point and you paddle downstream (a leisurely 3 hours) until you arrive at the beach near your campsite. There are heaps of places to stop and have some lunch and a swim on the way.
The site is a drive through level, grassy area and easily accessed by 2WD vehicle if you're not towing. For caravans and camper trailers, a 4WD is recommended but it's pretty easy going.
Pets are welcome, but MUST stay within the site paddock if not on a lead. Our neighbours have stock and it's important we are always respectful toward them.
A garbage bin and recycle bin is provided but you will need your own toilet. There is a designated area for a fire (when conditions permit) and we can supply firewood if required for a small fee.
We’ve kept things simple and natural because that’s the way we like it. It’s a true bush camp — plenty of space, plenty of privacy, and no fuss. We just ask that everyone who stays treats the place with respect and leaves it as they found it, so the next campers can enjoy it too.

La Cascina is a small property on a hill surrounded by trees and bushland. There are two main camping areas which would suite tent and small to medium van/car camping. There is access to neighbouring bushland with nice short walks available in the area. Only 20 minutes by car to Newcastle CBD, 10 minutes by car to Redhead Beach and 5 minutes by car to Lake Macquarie.
La Cascina is a great spot to stop overnight on a road trip or to get away for the weekend to relax. We have no toilets so please bring your own. The access to the property is a steep sealed driveway.
Site 1 is an open site with plenty of shade. The area is flat. More suited to larger camping setups. This site is less private. There is vision of the neighbouring property and an overflow campsite 50 meters away.
Site 2 is a more uneven surface area which is better for smaller vans and tents.
Redhead Beach is the closest dog beach 10 minutes by car.
Croudace Bay is a dog park on the lake which is 5 minutes by car.
This is a family owned acreage that brings the best parts of environmental living with the benefits of being close to the coast and a city. A very long time ago it was the site of a quarry. The nature has returned and we are left with a beautiful forested acreage.

Brightwater sits beside Olney State Forest and Kuluwan Flora Reserve. It is a 50-acre farm with a lovely spring-fed dam, with our nearby campsite. It is private and secluded, and with just one group staying at a time, you are guaranteed the space to yourselves.

There are many beautiful walking and bike trails in the area. Lots of wildlife to meet, including water dragons, wild ducks, and pythons, to name a few. There is also nearby evidence of the original occupants, the Darkinjung people.
You are also welcome to bring a couple of horses! There's a safe paddock with a trough and nice trails in the area to explore.
The Kulnura General Store and bottleshop is just 9km down the road for basic supplies.

Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions).
The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit.
You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here.
Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around!
Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances.

This circular campground is ideal for family get-togethers or accommodation for local weddings. The farm has been in the same family for over 80 years and offers a genuine country experience.
The site is a large, flat paddock with plenty of open space and privacy, surrounded by a tall hedge of trees. Our Bottom Creek Camp is also available nearby.

Caravans and RV's that are fully self contained eg: has a toilet are welcome. Sorry no tents. If you could please let us know your ETA that would be very much appreciated.
We are only 10-15 mins to Nelson Bay centre.
Beaches are just down the road also which includes Birubi Beach which goes all the way to Stockton and many more near by.
Right next door is Murrays Brewery and Sunset in the Vines, very handy to be able to walk next door (a really short walk) and have dinner and a drink.
Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road.
Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood if you would like, please let us know on arrival or before you arrive so we can have it ready, (this in not an extra it is included in the price). We can offer electricity for an extra cost of $10 per night if needed. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way, you will be camping (Approx 50 m from the house). Pictures show this. We endeavour to appreciate your privacy as much as possible.

Had a great stay at Mick’s place. Awesome setting with easy access to the river and all to yourself. My dogs loved it. The cows and their calves were entertaining to watch while having a cuppa! It was lovely to meet Mick. He is an excellent host, friendly and great communicator. Made us feel very welcome.
I will definitely be back.

Easy accessible from the road, close to stores yet the campsite is isolated. Well shaded with relatively easy access to the river and a great fire pit, this is somewhere to enjoy year round.

So much space so you can enjoy privacy whilst camping. And plenty of lovely little areas to pick from to set up. I love camping remote with no signal, power or amenities, but at the same time being so close to town (15 min drive) is handy for supply runs.

A Nice Private tranquil spot.
Carol is a fantastic host. The land is immaculate, the facilities extremely well maintained.
As we were leaving she brought a baby joey over for the kids to see.
Don’t hesitate on this one. A short 1 hour and 45 minute drive for us from the northern beaches. You won’t be disappointed 👍
We camped but very tempted to try a cabin next time as they look great

My partner and I loved camping at Wattle Valley Farm! Each spot looked very secluded and lots of room between each one.
All the amenities were clean, well-maintained and uncrowded.
Lots of areas to explore and a nice little creek to swim in as well!

We had a lovely time at Wattle valley farm camping. The hosts welcomed us and showed us different spots available for our tent and car. Every spots felt private and we never felt on top of the other guests. It was a really hot weekend and were really glad we could swim in the river ! Also the shower and toilet facilities were perfect, clean and enough for all the campers. U would really recommend this place for families and people with dogs.

Great hosts and campsite, have been before and would go again. There's a good availability and variation in sites. We had a lovely time with our dog in a little spot surrounded by bush and near the river so we felt quite separate from everyone else, although you could still hear adjacent spots, which was to be expected

We loved camping at Mandalong Manor! Our site was well secluded from other campers. Jim drove down 20L water jerries each day. We saw many kangaroos and birds and they did not raid our site. We had a nice view from our site. Jim was welcoming and helpful and saved us from our car trouble. Jim's neighbours were really nice. Jim has a cool collection of old Land Rovers. Overall great experience would reccomend!

Our first time camping with our youngest (6 yrs) and we all loved it. A large open field with several pitches (marked by campfire sites) and also several other pitches dotted around the bush in nooks. A short walk to the river which was a welcome way to cool off on a 39° day! FYI the water isn't clear. Hot showers and flushing toilets were good. The middle shower in the family room is temperamental and doesn't flow as well as the others. Jenna and Matt were both lovely, approachable and welcoming. The cave walk was short but sweet. Unfortunately we didn't manage to get to do the 45 min loop bush walk...next time! A short drive to Wollombi village and also a great location to explore some of the wineries in Broke. The bridge over the river, to access the site felt a bit scary driving over as it felt narrow (no barriers on the sides), especially in the dark but in looking in the wing mirrors we had a good foot or 2 either side.
A successful first trip and already booking another for Easter! Thanks for giving us the bug! I loved this site and would recommend to others.

Beautiful camping spot not too far from Sydney, hosted by absolutely lovely people! You can camp near others in the open paddock or find a more secluded campsite surrounded by trees, which was perfect for us. Having toilets & showers was such a luxury as well. Swimming in the river on such hot days was the best way to cool down! We brought our puppy and she had the best time too. Overall just loved the vibe at this site, lots of friendly people all enjoying the camping experience. Thanks Matt & Jenna for having us at Wattle Valley Farm!
