We had such a lovely stay at Ellenborough Cabin. The cabin was beautifully decorated, and I loved all the unique touches throughout. It felt like there was a little bit of everything you might need, just in case you forgot something at home. It was almost like a collection of thoughtful items left behind by previous guests, which made it feel very welcoming and homely.
The cows were absolutely adorable and were a real highlight of the stay. My daughter loved every minute of being there and didn’t want to leave!
The only suggestion I would make is to add a sign at the main driveway entrance and another at the gate to the cabin, as it was a little tricky to find at first. Other than that, everything was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’d happily visit again!

Weekend Trip to Ellenborough Getaways
My husband and I have now visited the Mountain Shack 3 times and every time we have been blown away by the stunning view! John is a wonderful host, always helpful and quick to respond. Dave the caretaker also ensured we had plenty of firewood.
The shack had a wood stove to keep warm on cooler nights, and you can bask in the sun on warmer days. Very friendly cows and our 2 dogs had a fantastic time.
Will be visiting again very soon.

Graham and Chris are so lovely and very hospitable, little touches such as vases of fresh home grown flowers and herbs make it special! The bucket shower is the best!! 2 nights at Manning River Retreat
Chris and Graham were so hospitable. Chris met us with organic tomatoes from her garden and Graham checked in daily to ensure we had what we needed.
The church itself is amazing and very comfortable. The river is a 5--10 minute walk away and we headed down each morning for a delicious swim.
However our absolute favourite was sitting by the fire under the stars at night. We were blessed to have amazing weather whilst we were there.
I would thoroughly recommend staying in the church, it's an amazing experience.
I did overlook the fact that no power means no plugs to charge a phone, and I hadn't bought a battery pack. However, Graham kindly showed us where we could use some power sockets up near their house.

Weekend Trip to The Top Place
I loved staying at Meredith’s land, it was beautiful and peaceful. The cottage was cute and had a few camping spots scattered around. The spot was close to a lot of the local towns, restaurants, beaches and national parks, very spoilt for choice. Meredith was very knowledgeable of the local area and provided some great recommendations.

1 night at Ellenborough Getaways
The Mountaintop Shack had incredible views, the photos don’t do it justice. It only had very basic ammenities so be sure to bring an Eski, bedding and shower (if staying more than one night). You will definitely need a 4WD to get to the top, but worth it once you get there! The cows were adorable and friendly, and our pup and 8month old baby had a great time exploring. John was super helpful and gave perfect directions. Thanks a million John!

With kids
We had a great time staying in the old church. My 7 year old enjoyed delivering regular sermons to her heathen parents from the pulpit, complete with massive bible! The set up is completely off grid so make sure you bring plenty of food, a good cold esky, water and pre-charged devices if you can’t quite go electronics free. We had a lovely daily swim down at the river. Graham even gave my husband and daughter a ride with his friendly old dog in tow in the farm jeep up from the river one day which my daughter loved. Highly recommend this as an off grid get away!
