We are working small family farm only 5 km north of Orange and home to the Williewarrina Poll Hereford Stud. With an ample vegie garden, we are happy to supply you with some of our in seasonal produce, fresh eggs and home made bread for breakfast. We offer only one spacious camp site at a time with stunning views overlooking grape vines to the east of our farm. If the weather is a touch damp - which it is inclined to be in winter in Orange - we can offer you the shelter of our very large hay shed. It will easily fit a caravan and vehicle with room to spare. It will keep your gear dry and your camp site cosy. After a busy day of visiting the vineyards of Orange you are able to relax around the campfire, whether you're camped under the hay shed or not, and take in the serenity. If you wish, you can accompany us on a cattle experience with both our herefords and highlands, feeding and grooming them (weekends only). You are welcome to try your luck in our dam if you have your own fishing gear. Pets are welcome but we do have livestock on the property, as do our neighbours, so please keep them under control. Unfortunately we don't have any toilets or amenities at this point so you will need to be fully self contained and take your waste away.

Burrill Banks is a 35-acre hobby farm just off the Newell Highway, approximately 33km from Parkes, NSW, home to the famous ELVIS Festival (8th- 12th January). Just a few Km up the road is the famous Parkes telescope, or "The Dish". Large cropping and sheep farms surround us. We have 35 sheep and 2 dogs. Burrill Banks is on Burrill Creek which runs down from the Harvey’s Ranges to the east of Goobang National Park. The creek is often dry through the summer. The camping area is about 7 acres with open and treed areas. It is on the south side of Burril Creek'. The site can accommodate up to 8 caravans. Alectown is historically a farming and gold mining area with mine shafts from the 1800’s dotted across the area. You can visit an open-cut gold mine in Peak Hill 15 km north of Burrill Banks. Very quiet campsite, with toilet and shower facilities. We struggled to find a campsite in the Orange area with facilities that were not a caravan park or Showground. Field Days ticked our boxes, we had the place to our selves, it is close to the wineries and walking in Mt Canobolas. We Will be back.

Fantastic stay, Sam and her family were very welcoming and helpful right from our arrival with suggestions of activities in the area, all of which were great. We had a tour of their beautiful property including their garden full of fresh produce, we purchased some sourdough and eggs for breaky which was perfect and the cow experience was so good with the Highlands and the beautiful Hereford cows. Nothing was a problem for Sam or her two kids who helped out and ran us through the cow experience and showed our kids around. Would 100% recommend.

Beautiful farm with lots of space. The grass was manicured. Plenty of clean toilets and showers. Unfortunately, we couldn't put our tent up. It was our first attempt at camping. We decided to drive back home. We will give it another go when we have learnt how to put the tent together.

Hosts Damo and Tammie made us feel genuinely welcome. Their generosity and laid back style of hospitality set the tone for a relaxing getaway. The property is hugely spacious, with campsites thoughtfully spread out to ensure privacy. Take care: Access to riverside camp sites is via steep and rocky track. A high clearance 4x4 is a must. You’ll need low range, especially if you are towing. As for our site this visit … Clancy of the Overflow was just 1 row back from the riverbank, in the far corner for privacy … but a hike to the loo. The pre-ordered homemade bread and fresh laid eggs was also a treat. We’ll be back.

5 nights at Lyndon Hill

We had a lovely 5 days at Lyndon Hill. Sam was so helpful with local information and alterations to our booking before we arrived. The family showed us and all our guests to the site and they were all super friendly. We even had freshly squeezed Blood Orange juice delivered to camp one morning by Sam (flipping delicious 😋). The cows were even more friendly if that's at all possible. The paddock isn't exactly flat but there was plenty of room to fit 4 caravans easily (and level). The grass was slightly long but it didn't stop us having a wonderful stay. Only a short drive from town, the perfect launch pad for all the wineries we visited (Heifer Station and Stockmans Ridge were our favourites). Thanks Sam 😊
