Valley View Farm is located in the beautiful upper Hunter Valley - home of racehorses and wineries. We are spread out over 40 acres, set in a picturesque 600-acre valley, with Mount Dangar dominating the skyline. Our property is set on top of a huge inland sandbank/cliff, with deep gorges on two sides, which gives amazing valley views. Due to these cliffs, our property is not suitable for groups with small children, and older children must be supervised at all times. The valley is service by a dirt Crown road, snaking through private land, this acts as an excellent walking track with minimal traffic, there is also exploring through the native bush up in the mountains. Plenty of wildlife abounds, including kangaroos, wombats, lizards, birdlife, and not too many snakes! The property is accessed via a 6km dirt road, off the Golden Highway, with some corrugations. We do recommend SUV or 4WD however others have accessed it via 2WD successfully. I drive my horse float up there all the time, and provided your caravan or car isn't too low clearance, it should be fine. Any concerns, please discuss with us prior to booking. When we've had heavy rain, this will hinder access for 2WD vehicles until the water drains, which it does quickly. For this reason, please keep an eye on the weather on your arrival day. We currently offer 4 camping sites - 2 in our back paddock which are 4WD accessible only, and 2 in our front paddocks, both with easy access to the flushing toilet and one with exclusive use of a large 9x9m shelter. Unfortunately due to fires in the area we were unable to camp, we were really looking forward to the stay. The host had impeccable communication, messaging us the day prior to our stay letting us know about the fires near buy and offered a refund. We initially chose to stay away, then changed our mind the day of our stay and we were still giving a refund. Very kind when really they didn't have too.

Weekend Trip to Kamameja Remote Bush Camp

I stayed one night on a solo trip and had an awesome time. The directions from the host were clear and easy to follow, making the drive in simple. The gravity trails were great fun with a good mix of challenge and a tough pedal back up to the top. The campsite itself is huge, with plenty of space and privacy - perfect for a quiet getaway. Highly recommend!

Great location for a pitstop for our trip to Mudgee and beyond from Newcastle. Camped near the creek and would definately recommend a weekend or so stay. We met out host M'Liss and she was great. She gave us some recommendations to explore locally. We had the campsite to ourselves cooking over the fire.

We had the whole Beelisco campsite to ourselves, and it was pure bliss. The place is incredibly peaceful, surrounded by nature with the most beautiful creek just a short walk away. It felt private and untouched — the ideal spot to unwind and reconnect with the outdoors. Everything was well-kept, and you can really feel the care that’s gone into maintaining the land. Can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a quiet, serene escape. We’ll definitely be back! 💚

Weekend Trip to Beelisco Honey Hipcamp

We stopped in for just one night at Beelisco and wished we had the time to stay longer. We stayed at the creekside site and had the whole place to ourselves. The site was huge and well maintained, with a new and clean compost toilet (which my partner said smelled like honey). The creek was stunning, unfortunately didn’t see any wildlife but saw what we believed to be kangaroo prints on the sand of the creek, so sat patiently waiting to see if any came back. Would absolutely stay again. And will be recommending this to anyone I know who is staying in the area.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay, woke up to the cows coming down to the damn for a drink of water. The sun set was amazing over the ridge line. And Jane was so lovely. Would definitely stay again

We loved our time at Old Barra Camp, the sites are very pristine and scenic. Saw kangaroos, an echidna and plenty of birds. Directions were clear to get there and Amenities were clean and convenient. Thanks Sally and family for a great time

1 night at The Old Widden Schoolhouse

Fantastic quiet night. Great instructions. Perfect fireplace, and benefit of having 240v and a roof when a wild storm came through was appreciated. There is a pump or genset on across st the farms all night. Apart from that, no noise! Occasional horsey whinny and a few night birds. We spotlighted microbats. Saw lots of wombat evidence but no Wally. Nice chilly, start to the say, with a hill to the West. Drove further up the valley to walk over Reuben’s trail to Baerami: no go, it means we’d have to access via private property and neighbours at Baramul suggested kindly ‘it might not be wise’.. Thanks Clare we loved the schoolhouse. Esp the monkey bars!

Magical spot right by the creek. The site and facilities were clean and well maintained. Lots of beautiful birds around. We were the only guests and we loved having the campsite all to ourselves. Bonus points for being dog-friendly! We will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved little brothers, dale was very welcoming and helpful would definitely recommend and will be returning soon!! Me and my partner and our two dog loved our stay we took our dirt bikes loved the trails. The hut had everything you need, toilet and shower very clean had no issues and no complaints Very peaceful place it was very relaxing

Old Barra was great. Huge sites, quiet with rolling green areas and waterways. Check out the ‘Picnic Table’ an easy 4WD track to the top of the hills. Wonderful place for cheese and wine as the sunsets across the hills. Loved our stay. It’s going to be our regular escape.

Great weekend spent at old Bara. Such beautiful land! We will be back. Definitely worth a visit if your wanting to be close by to Mudgee
