All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water. Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day. There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler. Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road. You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region. Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway. In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

Weekend Trip to Barachi by the Creek

Barachi by the creek is an absolutely magical place. Peaceful, secluded and surrounded by natural beauty while giving you everything you need for a trip away without all the mod cons. Pete and Tania are speedy and effective in communication and are awesome hosts. Cannot recommend this enough. You will not regret your decision to book. Bit of a walk down and back up but that was part of the charm. Earn your holiday!

Weekend Trip to Barachi by the Creek

We had the most incredible night at Peter and Tania's cabin! The cabin was so decked out with everything we needed and the beds were comfier than the ones at home! The dog and the kids loved the creek, we hiked and explored the paddocks :) A big storm rolled in and we all watched the lighting from the porch and all slept so cozy with rain on the tin roof! Solar shower was perfect to give everyone a wash! Beautiful property and very private, we will most certainly come back again! Peter was so easy to communicate with and made sure we were all set. Great experience thanks so much 🙏🏼

2 nights at Barachi by the Creek

This was a great place to stay for our family, which included our dog who could roam around and was really happy. We loved the serenity, exploring the creek/surrounds and unplugging from technology - cards and Yahtzee are a must! The barbecue was great for cooking and I recommend doing a fire at night. The accommodation is as described and I would definitely recommend the buggy ride down/back for luggage. If you do want to go back to your car and do some exploring around Modenville, it is a fair walk (30-35 mins) from the shack so be aware of that if you have younger kids or are not that mobile you probably just want to hang out down at the shack. Only small negative was the shower was pretty basic. Peter and Tania were great as well, make sure you have a chat and ask any questions. Overall - highly recommended.

3 nights at The Meadow -Byron Hinterlands Domes

My wife’s sister came to visit from Canada, and this place was perfect for our whole family to travel together. There were no disturbances at all, and it was a private space just for our family to relax and enjoy, which we really loved. There are many nice areas nearby, making it a great location for light sightseeing and enjoying delicious food. Also, the amazing sunsets and stars visible from the dome tent gave us a perfect escape from the tiring city life. If we get the chance again, we would definitely love to visit again.

The facilities are very well maintained, the tent was clean and comfy, and the cows were super cute and friendly to pet. We 100% recommend 😊

Jane has created a truly unique property with her two dome tents in Dunoon. It was so much fun just being there and seeing the incredible views from the dome and the central covered kitchen / lounge area. The sunsets are amazing! After camping for over a week prior to getting to the domes, it was so luxurious being able to have a proper shower, flushing toilet and comfy bed and huge couch to savour the evening skies. Really interesting and unique place. ❤️

This camp is AMAZING. Hosts Jodie and Caz were so helpful. They organised us a hot bath under the stars on the first night. We sat around under the huge camp kitchen which had a large table and chairs, a pot belly fire and an option for another fire under cover if needed. There were also a few games which was great during some down time. The fairy lights and solar lights are not only very practical and provides excellent lighting around the camp, but look so beautiful too. There is a waterfall hot shower, and the huge fire pit was beautiful to sit around and keep warm. Our hosts assisted in lighting the fire and talked us through our camp oven roast dinner - delicious. We were taken on a tour of the property on the Polaris which was great fun. Caz has lots of information about local wildlife and native plants. Although we had some rain intermittently, we had plenty of room to stay warm and dry under the camp kitchen. There is fresh tank water and firewood. Will definitely be back. This would be a great spot for a group booking with so much room. Loved it. Thank you.

This is the sweetest spot! Tucked in amongst hills and paddocks, private and peaceful. The dog had the best time too. Creek, cows, birds, and quiet. Only regret is not staying longer. Would love to go back.

Absolute perfection. Peaceful, abundance of wildlife, beautiful creek and the shack is the ultimate rustic cabin experience. I couldn't stop smiling. It felt like we were in a scene from Man from Snowy River. Absolutely beautiful! Tania and Peter are such a lovely couple who have thought about everything you may need. They know the terraine better then anyone and ensured we got to the cabin and home from the cabin safely. This is definitely a place that we will be coming back to again and again and would recommend this to anyone who wants to step away from everything and do nothing but relax. Our 10 & 12 yo kids can not wait to come back and neither can we. Thanks again Peter and Tania. Was so perfect!

We had a wonderful stay at The Meadow! The accommodation is absolutely beautiful and truly unique — waking up inside the dome with the marvelous view of the open meadow right outside was such a special experience. Watching the sunset from the dome was simply breathtaking — the whole area lights up in warm, golden tones, making it feel like you’re in your own private slice of nature. The dome is thoughtfully set up with all the comforts you need, including a very comfortable bed that made for a great night’s sleep. There are two domes and each dome has toilet and shower. Despite experiencing severe windy weather during our stay, we felt completely safe and secure inside, which really shows how well-constructed the dome is. The kitchen area is well-equipped with everything you could possibly need — BBQ grill, plates, cups, cutlery — making it easy to cook and enjoy meals without missing the views. The hosts were absolutely lovely, very responsive, and genuinely cared about our comfort. When the solar power was affected by the extreme weather, they handled it with generosity and offered compensation, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, The Meadow is the perfect mix of comfort, nature, and thoughtful hospitality. The views, especially at sunset, are unforgettable. Highly recommended for a peaceful, scenic, and unique glamping experience!
