Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance.
Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

Welcome! Lovely to see you here. Our property is located in Arcadia, just 45 minutes from Sydney CBD. The campsite is located on the high side of the property that looks over into the valley & has stunning views of the Berowra National Park.
There is a multitude of walking, hiking and mountain bike trails. There are also many nearby horse riding trails. The property backs on to Calabash Creek which is like a rain Forrest once you get down to the valley floor.
Berowra waters is near by, whereby many fishing, canoeing, boating activities are available, coupled with some great cafes/restaurants.
Campfires are allowed as long as there are no restrictions in place and they are supervised. Pets are welcome and can be off leash, however are the responsibility of their human parents.
The property has ample room to accommodate larger groups that might want to hold milestone celebrations such as Birthday parties, whereby all sites will be closed to accommodate such events. Recently Calabash Haven hosted a party of 50 people for 50th Bday celebration. Feel free to inquire to see if we can accommodate your needs.

We had a beautiful spot under the trees which gave us morning and afternoon shade. The view over the valley was stunning especially as the evening fog settled in.

What a stunning place to pull up, set up a tent or campervan, sit under the sky, the stars, on the soft grass. Admiring and taking in the views of the surrounding mountains, trees, horses, cows and bird life.
I loved this spot, it’s magical. Kerren and Mark are awesome hosts too!

We (a group of 4) spent 3 nights at Debbie’s spot on site 5. The sunsets were incredible, the area peaceful and with an amazing amount of space between sites. The facilities are basic but maintained well.

We had a wonderful stay at Canoelands Valley Camping hosted by Debbie. The place was incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. Exactly what we were looking for. My partner Hannah and I really enjoyed the time we spent there, switching off from the city and just enjoying the calm surroundings. Debbie was a great host, and the overall experience was simple, stress-free, and rejuvenating. We’d definitely love to come back again.

We loved our 3 nights on pitch 1, the site has a spectacular view and there is a good distance to pitch 2 so it never felt overlooked. The location is very peaceful even with the road close by. Being dog friendly meant our dog could also enjoy the kicking back and relaxing time aswell. Debbie instructions were very clear. We will be back.

Katie was an excellent host. We camped near the hen house with the horses nearby. Shower and toilet were great and we were able to power the trailer for some aircon on the hot days we had while there. The kids loved feeding the horses and getting the fresh eggs in the morning.

The different sites were beautiful! If you’re looking for more private and exceptional sunsets, I would recommend site 4 but site 1 & 2 have gorgeous views of the valley. Debbie was very accomodating and allowed us to look at all 4 as we were the only ones staying.
She kept me up to date with fire bans and ensured I had everything I needed. She was great host and I’ve already sent her property to multiple friends
