Binghi Station Located approximately 4.5hours from Brisbane, Queensland, or 1.5 hour drive west of Tenterfield, New South Wales. Binghi Station, once a large sheep station, was a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800 to mid 1900. Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty. Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s. You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)

Lovely spot to park up for the night. Host came and said hello and was so nice! Animals were very friendly and our 3 year old loved it!! Quiet and the showers/toilets were so clean and beautiful!

We absolutely loved our tent stay. The daily visits by the chooks, the horse happily galloping through the pasture and Duncan passing by for a chat (he really came over to bring in the mula, but was happy to chat for a while) made our days. Skippies coming through morning and evening. Just so nice! Amenities are amazing, too! We loved the serenity, peace and quiet. Enough space for everyone to have their space and not be on top of each other. We'll be back for sure!

I loved the the big camp sites, the water and hill views, the fact that the next camp site was soooo far away and the sound of the running water at nighttime. The amenities block was large and super clean and a huge bonus with flushing toilets and hot showers.

Stayed at Drover's Rest. Very picturesque and quiet. Camp sites are extremely well spaced. Well done to Sarah who could easily cram more campers in to get more money but has kept the sites separate and private. Wifi was a definite bonus for us as we need to keep in contact with family for medical purposes. Shower and toilet facilities were clean and a definite bonus. We left early due to threat of rain and slippery road back to Tenterfield but other than that would definitely recommend a stay here.

It's a beautiful property and I can highly recommend this property to dog owners and kids. They have some tough 4 x 4 tracks but Adrian and Oratai are incredible people and we will be back soon !

This place is incredible. Beautiful, peaceful, and the cows are so friendly, they come right up to the kids. Sarah was so welcoming and helpful. The water is nice and the sunset on top of the hill is beautiful. I will be going back for sure. Next time I will be staying more than one night.

Beautiful drive in from Tenterfield, designated camping areas well spaced, with ample grazed grass to set up adjacent the river. Three private shower, toilet & handbasin rooms with hot water available and very functional. Bagged fire wood was easily accessible from an old horse float. The valley is very picturesque and the varied birdlife associated with the river, ever changing. Watched a large goanna cruise past our site across the river. If the weather is hot, bring some shade set up, as tree shade not available until midday on. Being a working cattle property, bring a long handle shovel, as your preferred set up site may need a five minute clean up. Unfortunately, our stay was cut short, due to the recent weather events & needing to return home to deal with clean up activities (chainsaw work). Would look to return at a future time.

We were lucky enough to arrive just after some pretty severe storms went through & were the only ones there. We had the entire 4,000 acres to ourselves! We took our electric mountain bikes & loved riding or walking to Sandy Falls, or even Secret Gorge, which was a little more challenging. Jump’n Rock is about 1/2 an hour by 4WD & absolutely worth the effort. All three sites are absolutely spectacular! Plenty of good camp sites at Shearing Shed Campground but as Adrian says, be prepared as none of them are level. We were OK as we have airbag suspension. Adrian, Oratai & their 5 year old twins were perfect hosts & couldn’t do enough for us. Such a lovely family, they deserve to do well. Worth mentioning the track in. Adrian is careful to state that the track is 4WD only & be aware that whatever you are towing needs plenty of ground clearance also. We have a Ford Ranger & towed a 20’ extreme off road van. The track is very well compacted, so we were never going to get bogged but some of the hills were quite rutted & rocky & we had our hearts in our mouths on the way out, with all 4 wheels spinning! Adrian tells me he has a D6 bulldozer booked in the next month or so, so that should make a huge difference. All in all, we just loved our experience at Binghi Station. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Kingfisher camp for a few days. The site itself is raised above the river by a few metres, so you look down onto it which is lovely for watching the wildlife. The cows are very inquisitive and quickly demolished our tall, portable dog fencing to investigate our camp which wasn't ideal, but it's part of camping in a paddock. We didn't use their amenities but did take a sticky beak and they are well designed and spotlessly clean. Will definitely return.
