Located, just 25 minutes from the pristine beaches of Yamba and Iluka. Across the river and just 15 minutes from the Scottish town of Maclean, nestled high in the Yamba hinterland. You will not hear traffic, you will not see headlights. Pure peace and tranquility for you to relax, chill and enjoy. The sites are surrounded by rugged mountainous bush land with views, trails, cliffs, 3 creeks to explore and includes a private lake ‘Lake Arid’ with its own island, ‘Dead Dog Island’. Swim, paddle, fish, play. Metres away is another private swimming hole ‘Pants Off Pond’ stocked with Silver Perch and Bass. So whether you indulge in pants off, or leave them on and just fish it’s up to you. Explore a little further and you’ll find ‘The Abyss’ a former micro quarry, 9m deep waterhole. The creeks have waterfalls, swimming holes, pure and clean, though are a rugged unmarked hike. The sites are site only. You’ll need to take care of your waste, water, rubbish and power. Generator is ok, we’re out of earshot, so is everyone else. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit and an abundance of ‘cut your own’ firewood upon the ground. Remember, fires this time of year are for ‘cooking only’, so be sure to bring those marshmallows… Pet Friendly, 4WD friendly with a bunch of serious challenges too… Horse friendly too, yep, there’s a yard to keep them too, up by the house. Accessible by 2WD with sites with enough space for any size caravan or motor home. While exploring, if you find a spot you’d rather camp, simply ask. We live on the property so help is nearby for any issues and the access road is shared. Peace, quiet and nature abounds.

Glendaryn, our property, is located 30 kms west of Kyogle and 2 hours from the Gold Coast. Featuring 35 acres consisting mainly of creek flats on the banks of Iron Pot Creek, a permanent creek which runs from nearby Toonumbar dam, this place is perfect to pitch a tent. The dam is only 2 km away and has a boat ramp. Iron Pot provides scenic camping spots with fishing (bass and cat fish), swimming, hiking, kayaking and there are bush roads nearby suitable for horse riding. Fresh drinking water and a pit toilet is available at the shed . Bring your horse and put up a yard or safe yards are available. Dogs are welcome as long as they are controlled and don’t chase our horses and the local wild life. There are a variety of camping sites near the creek and also one on the hill overlooking the flats. Creek side spots are dry weather only as the flat can become boggy or you can walk in around 200 metres from road. The property is 2WD accessible.

I moved here from Sydney in 1987. In that time I have seen many changes. I have come to love the Bungawalbin and have formed a very real bond with the whole area and have learnt so much in the journey. Like most parts of the East Coast the land has been badly managed since European invasion in the way of logging, grazing, farming and burning practices that have degraded the diversity of what was once possibly the most diverse part of Australia. The bush is resilient but there is a limit to what it can withstand and I fear this precious wetlands is disappearing fast. 5 years ago bushfires devastated the whole forest leaving very little undamaged and it is still struggling to recover. Then catastrophic flooding in 2022 destroyed the homestead. The property offers spacious, private campsites in a natural and tranquil setting. Bush walking and birdwatching are a must, or just relaxing by the billabong may reward you with a wildlife encounter. Adrian's camp site was amazing. We did a roadtrip up from Newcastle to Brisbane and back, camping at 5 different sites along the way. Adrian's was the best one we found. It had the perfect balance of amenities (all of which were nice and clean) and isolated. There are only 3 sites on his property so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Highly recommend.

My wife, I and ours 9 and 6-year-old daughters, have had a wonderful stay at Sylva Lagoons Camp for 2 nights. We liked the quiet and tranquility, and the perfect tent spot. My daughter and I enjoyed kayaking at the lagoon! The toilet was very clean, and the nature hot shower was great! But above all, Peter and Elaine are very friendly and were willing to help with everything with a big smile! Highly recommended for a family vacation!!

Peaceful and lovely views around farm. The cows were lovely to wake up to and were everywhere. Friendly though and some cute calfs. The information given before and after booking is a little confusing, as it depends where you camp as to what instruction to follow. I had messaged Tom prior to going to ask questions, but never received a reply. Once I got to the farm I called Tom, as I did not know where to go as I was in a converted minibus 2W and not all areas were suitable. However, Tom was not that helpful when I asked and just said he had been too busy to reply to me and to just go anywhere and that I’d be alright. Felt a little like he wasn’t too bothered, which surprised me given the previous reviews I’d read and how helpful Tom was. Maybe caught him at a bad time….. price wise, I thought it was a little expensive given that toilets are the only amenity. I had only paid $10 more in the area for power and water hook up, but guess you’re paying for the views and peace instead! That said, we did enjoy our stay and our chosen spot was really nice. Toilets are close by and clean enough.

Beautiful place to camp. Well spaced out (we barely saw anyone while staying), perfect views, beautiful creek. Portaloos accessible from all of the areas we looked at and were clean and looked after - I saw Tom checking them all while we were there. Access to firewood for $20. Great fire barrels. Lovely spots to walk through. Tom was really helpful. Easy drive and lots of spots are accessible for 2wd. Recommend going for a walk around the property as there are some spots we found after setup that would've been lovely - so we've picked our spot for next time! Loved the place and we will definitely be back.

We had the most amazing two nights at Sleepy Hollow, we camped on top of the ridge and enjoyed views of the property. The sites are huge, the cows are so friendly and Tom is awesome. Location is also 10/10, super close to Pottsville but also Kingscliff & Byron. Will absolutely be back here, couldn’t recommend it more

Easy to get to, but far enough away to feel peaceful and quiet. Unfortunately, the weather was very stormy during our stay, so we didn’t get to explore much of the property, however there was still a reasonable amount of birdlife around the campsites. The house is currently undergoing extensive renovations, so the bathroom is fairly basic at the moment, but it was clean and perfectly functional.

We loved our stay at Sleepy Hollow Manor! The property is incredibly peaceful, and waking up to cows grazing right outside the van was such a cool experience. The location is perfect too, so close to Pottsville Beach and an easy drive to Byron. We had an unexpected issue with our van and had to leave it on the property while waiting for a tow truck. Tom was amazingly accommodating the whole time, with great communication and a genuinely helpful attitude. Couldn’t recommend this spot more. We’ll definitely be back! 🌿🚐🐄
