An amazing stay, huge clear campground perfect for larger groups, right next to the stream. We also swam, which was cold but amazing. The host was awesome too. 10/10 time

2 nights at Mellows Ridge

Hidden Terrace is an amazing camping ground surrounded by trees and mountain views, plus with all the amenities you need provided by Ian. Perfect for a tent or a campervan with easy access from the driveway and perfectly tucked away for peace and quiet. Highly recommend adding the Hot Spa and Star gazing at night for a wind down. Ian is exceptional in his hospitality and his love for the land and is shown through the care for the campsites.

Great location and host. Will continue to come back to this site. Has all the setup you need to take the hassle out of camping and just enjoy your trip. A+. Highly recommended.

Weekend Trip to Joadja Gorge Retreat & Camping

Clean campsite with lots of space. Site is generally on a slope, easily fixed though with RTT, just leveled the car with some rocks lying about. Heaps of firewood about, and a big firepit area. Table and chairs were handy. Great location overall, easy to get into Berrima 25mins. Beautiful Bush walk half way up to the toilet and off to the right. Some good tracks to choose from. We had perfect winter weather, sunny days and cold clear nights. Would definitely stay again.

Ian was an amazing host and his campsites even better. Stunning views across to the Wide Blue Pacific… Lana (The Dog) was a great mate for Pino (The Puppy). Ian sets you up with a great camp-dunny and the WiFi was strong & long.

Weekend Trip to Joadja Gorge Retreat & Camping

Had an amazing time! It was my dog’s first camp but Ian and Lana made the experience so worthwhile :) Lana was definitely a highlight, made quick friends with my own pup and was a calming presence throughout!! Definitely coming back!

We stayed at the gorge campsite and the views over the gorge were absolutely stunning. The campsite itself was flat, spacious and private. Lots of firewood and beautiful birds. Sunrise and sunset were particularly special! Only thing to be aware of is it’s a fair walk to the toilet if you need it. Would definitely stay again!

Weekend Trip to Above Syd at Trigonometry point

Great little spot, really enjoyed the stay. It’s quiet and a beautiful place. Things to note, no fire wood was provided even though the description said so.

Nice camp! Grounds were very well maintained and clean. Amazing tall gum trees spread over the property make for a beautiful area and the river is amazingly clear. Will be back!

We loved camping at the Dwayne! There was plenty of space for our tent, and to hang out near the fire. The trees protected us from the wind. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Suitable for people with good mobility as there is a bit of a walk through rocky terain to get to your vehicle. We got to meet Lana the 2yr old doggy who was so super friendly with our Staffy! Ian was so helpful and quickly replied to any of our queries. Thank you for helping us have a wonderful night away from Sydney!

Weekend Trip to Avoca @ Coromandel Agistment

Great camp site. Ian and Lana were great hosts always available for anything needed during your stay. Nice property just a short drive out of Sydney and our dogs had a great time. Nice views from a few vantage points on the property all just a short hike.

We loved camping at Elizabeth's property. The site was well maintained and the instructions were easy to follow. The site had plenty of privacy and it felt like a proper bush camp. We can't wait to go back.

Great spot to immerse into the sub tropical rainforest under the Illawarra escarpment. We stayed for a long weekend with our 6 y.o, and pup Frankie. Rustic but comfortable, the fire pit kept us warm, while the walks to the creek and waterfall were a highlight. Ian is a welcoming and hospitable host, definitely recommend this spot for a bit of off grid forest bathing within easy drive of Sydney. The freshly baked bread was a treat, thanks Ian!

Mellows Ridge

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. We've just (mid December) added a spa half way up the driveway. It can be booked through the extras. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

100 acres of secluded paradise with a kilometer of free flowing pebbled creek. Bound on two sides by the craggy escarpments of the Budgong and Morton National Parks there is ample grassland to give a feeling of space yet an abundance of trees to wander through as you engage with the tame wildlife and magnificent birdlife. Bring your mountain bike, fishing rod, swimmers, hiking boots, tennis racket, basketball (a hoop on the tennis court) or climbing gear and leave the kids in the play area while you sit by the creek and listen to the water tumbling through the rocks. If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider. We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available. Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses or long low slung vans. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers.
