Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening. Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite. Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies. Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

Weekend Trip to Truffle Farm Camping

Beautifully maintained camping grounds and very nice setting. We camped, but also used the van as an ensuite/kitchen storage, which worked well. There's only a few camp sites which can be booked at the same time so there is a great amount of privacy and we could camp a long way away from other campers. Kids will love the farm animals, as ours did. Thanks Tricia for having us.

Weekend Trip to Shepherds Rest

Shepherd's Rest is a magic little spot. We stayed in the Barn Room and it was so comfortable and cozy... Not that we were in it much! The property and amenities are awesome, so much secure space for the kids to roam, a beautiful bathroom (love the bath) and gorgeous little kitchen. The animals are very curious and friendly (especially Squashy the llama!) and our dog got on really well with Jacqui's own sweet doggo. Jacqui was an exceptional host, so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We can't wait to plan our next trip back!

Weekend Trip to Brooman, on the Clyde River

A secluded little historic village in a peaceful valley. Half hour drive to the start of Pigeonhouse Mountain walk. The restored cottages are so charming, we were comfortable and cosy in ours, loved all the timber and features. Host took extra care to make sure we were comfortable. Highly recommended.

We had a ball at Shepherds Rest. The shipping container was a cosy little space for our family of five and the kids loved exploring the land and visiting the goats and lama. This spot was well equipped with all things needed for a camping trip with the family, fire pits, camp kitchen and the cutest little bathroom. Jacqui was the perfect host, ensuring we were comfortable and going above and beyond during our time. We will be visiting again!

2 nights at Calabash Retreat

We had a fantastic time, the cottage is cozy and the views were lovely. We had some hot water issues but our host was amazing at getting this fixed asap for us. Great little getaway for us and the dogs who loves running around in the enclosed yard.
