We are a small farming enterprise and currently establishing aquaculture (yabby) ponds and can offer an introductory tour to those who are interested.
The hut sleeps two (double bed) but there is plenty of room for those who wish to bring a camper trailer or van or pitch a tent. As a working property, you may need to navigate around the odd cow pat! We have recently installed an old roof top ten on legs which can sleep two (double bed size).

This cattle and sheep property in New Valley, half an hour south of Inverell, is raw and beautiful, with New Valley Creek running through it, swimming holes, and waterfalls. The property is so spectacular, that parts of it have even been featured on TV's Farmer Wants a Wife.
The terrain is rugged and hilly, but the host has created easy access to several excellent, grassy camping sites some exclusive to one group at a time, others around the large dam but still with plenty of space. They all have good road access for even 2WD, provided they have good clearance.
The creek and rocks are stunning and will provide hours of fun. Fishing tours are run on the property at an extra cost, it is strictly catch and release and must discuss it beforehand with the host. We do not permit hunting as we want our guests to have and enjoy the tranquility and space.
Please note, that our Farmer Wants a Wife site has a long-drop toilet and designated fire ring, however, our other sites are for completely self-contained campers only.
If you are visiting during the shearing season, you are welcome to come and check it out for an insight into farm life!
Pet friendly, but only small breeds, and must be kept on a lead at all times. Please discuss bringing your dog with the host before booking.

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**
Roadworks will be occurring at Peedee Hill from now until July 2026. This will only affect campers travelling through Kempsey. Peedee Hill is 30 minutes from the campground and just over an hour from Kempsey. The road will be impassable Monday to Friday 9am – 3pm, Wednesdays 9am-2pm, Saturdays 8am – 1pm. If you leave Kempsey an hour before the road opens you will be able to drive straight through.
DO NOT USE GPS once on Kempsey Road! Because the road is closed on Live Traffic, GPS will take you into the back hills.

1.5 hours. Travel through Willawarrin, Bellbrook and continue straight for 32 kms until you see our signs on the left.
From Armidale
From the corner of Kempsey-Armidale Road and Waterfall Way, Cracknback is app 54 km on the right.

- we run a undesignated system meaning you can set up and camp anywhere you would like however some ideas below.
Anywhere around the dam
You have an option to camp at the shed where there is a generator for power (lighting) and toilet amenities. This area is generally flat and can accommodate any type of camping vehicle.
There is a shed to provide shelter for your food prep etc. There is a sink under the awning but you will need to carry water in a container to wash dishes. Outside there is wood-burning BBQ the camping paddock is fully fenced in .
For 4WD enthusiasts, there are good camping spots at the top of the mountain ridge however need to be self contained eg toilet.
You will need to bring your own fresh drinking water supply and unleaded fuel to run the water pump and generator.
We have secure cattle yards as a holding space if holidaying with your horses (please see Extras for horse facility fees).
Enjoy scenic horse rides around the valley and relax in front of the campfire by night. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
There is no phone reception on site
There is a pub in Bundarra where meals hospitality and spending time with the locals and a corner store 25km away at Bundarra, and all shops and amenities are available 75km at Inverell.

"Glendawn" is a small farming/ cattle grazing property with many beaut spots for camping. There are 2 sites with access to power and a few others without. It's a great place to get away but not too far from town. Fire pits and some firewood available.
We have a powered site in the old Woolshed. The Woolshed has had some modifications. It has a camp kitchen, hot and cold running water, toilet & shower. There is a fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, cook plate, outdoor fire pit, chairs, power and lighting. Large central area indoors. Its a delightful spot in the paddock to enjoy being "in the country".
The woolshed itself is 2WD accessible. In the winter months its really quite cold overnight. There's a great outdoor firepit and I provide firewood for $15 per bundle. There's a patio heater too and its 8kg gas cylinder costs $30. I will provide the first one.
This venue has been popular for families 'plugging in' their vans and for others to roll their swags out either inside the shed or under the stars. Privacy and peace and quiet in abundance here.
We also have unpowered camping in the paddocks. There are a few places with shade near a dam, by the old hayshed, or on a hill with views over the valley, excellent sunsets and a clearing for camping, 4WD accessible.
Children under 12 stay for free on unpowered sites.

Peedee Hill is 30 minutes from the campground and just over an hour from Kempsey. The road will be impassable Monday to Friday 9am – 3pm, Wednesdays 9am-2pm, Saturdays 8am – 1pm. If you leave Kempsey an hour before the road opens you will be able to drive straight through.
DO NOT USE GPS once on Kempsey Road! Because the road is closed on Live Traffic, GPS will take you into the back hills.

- we run a undesignated system meaning you can set up and camp anywhere you would like however some ideas below.
Anywhere around the dam
You have an option to camp at the shed where there is a generator for power (lighting) and toilet amenities. This area is generally flat and can accommodate any type of camping vehicle.
There is a shed to provide shelter for your food prep etc. There is a sink under the awning but you will need to carry water in a container to wash dishes. Outside there is wood-burning BBQ the camping paddock is fully fenced in .
For 4WD enthusiasts, there are good camping spots at the top of the mountain ridge however need to be self contained eg toilet.
You will need to bring your own fresh drinking water supply and unleaded fuel to run the water pump and generator.
We have secure cattle yards as a holding space if holidaying with your horses (please see Extras for horse facility fees).
Enjoy scenic horse rides around the valley and relax in front of the campfire by night. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
There is no phone reception on site
There is a pub in Bundarra where meals hospitality and spending time with the locals and a corner store 25km away at Bundarra, and all shops and amenities are available 75km at Inverell.

"Glendawn" is a small farming/ cattle grazing property with many beaut spots for camping. There are 2 sites with access to power and a few others without. It's a great place to get away but not too far from town. Fire pits and some firewood available.
We have a powered site in the old Woolshed. The Woolshed has had some modifications. It has a camp kitchen, hot and cold running water, toilet & shower. There is a fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, cook plate, outdoor fire pit, chairs, power and lighting. Large central area indoors. Its a delightful spot in the paddock to enjoy being "in the country".
The woolshed itself is 2WD accessible. In the winter months its really quite cold overnight. There's a great outdoor firepit and I provide firewood for $15 per bundle. There's a patio heater too and its 8kg gas cylinder costs $30. I will provide the first one.
This venue has been popular for families 'plugging in' their vans and for others to roll their swags out either inside the shed or under the stars. Privacy and peace and quiet in abundance here.
We also have unpowered camping in the paddocks. There are a few places with shade near a dam, by the old hayshed, or on a hill with views over the valley, excellent sunsets and a clearing for camping, 4WD accessible.
Children under 12 stay for free on unpowered sites.

Amazing and beautiful. Very well presented very surprised at the ability to hook up to power and water but mostly the lovely well thought out and maintained ‘ensuite’ complete with goodies to purchase if you want. We got some fresh eggs. Amazing views, quite easy access via well maintained farm roads. Visited by a couple of very friendly dogs and a few horses. Will definitely revisit, great place to explore from or just sit back relax and enjoy the 360 views. Annabelle and Dave very helpful nothing was too much trouble - a hidden gem

Had such a peaceful stay at Glendawn. I was welcomed from the start by Jack the friendly labrador. Frances was a wonderful host and showed my where everything was when I first arrived. It was comforting knowing she was on the property too, but it felt very private.
I stayed in the Woolshed. It's loaded with character and I loved having the amenities available. I was in town for the Gem Show. I plan to return next year and stay at the Woolshed again 🙂

Awesome site. Construction is in the works at the property, with them installing showers, toilets and a camp kitchen for future hipcampers. Everything was functioning despite being in construction, and we were thrilled to be able to even have a hot shower after a week on the road. Can see the owners vision for once construction is complete. They were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. If you do have a reactive dog, just be mindful as the sheep and alpacas do pass by the fence fairly close to the camp site nearby facilities. But overall really great camp, will definitely pop back to stay again once construction is complete!

The cows and horses are beautiful and the native wildlife is plentiful along with great country views.
