Weekend Trip to Warning View Campground

Stayed at The Oxley at Warning View for 1 night. $24 night per person. 4x4 with 5m hybrid van. General Area - lovely drive with rolling hills and a concrete creek crossing through running water was very beautiful. Tyalgum is the closest township to camp, a small country hip township that was about 10 mins drive from this campground. Booking - clear instructions was received upon booking. This is a multi booking site as it states this on the description however this ment that another hipcamper was able to book this site at the same time and were approx 20m apart. Site - is off to the right with a defined track that leads to The Oxley, a cleared squared area that has electric fence surrounding it with direct access to the pristine running Oxley River. This site track was a bit wet and muddy on our visit that required 4x4 to exit the track with the van, was overcast misty and dewy this visit. Telstra mobile signal was completely lost around the entry to the property with no signal at the camp. Highlight - The constant running of the river was fabulous.

Well, I planned my camping this time with family and friends. But unfortunately the weather was not very pleasant as it was all rainy and muddy but the owner Greg and his mates were very very helpful. He was very friendly. He made our trip go very smooth. Our camping site was very safe and beautiful. The view was spectacular. All the amenities were really easy to find. Thanks will definitely recommend.

Weekend Trip to McKenzies Mountain, Wollumbin

First time camping in the paddock site (and at property) and it was pretty nice. We parked our van opening to Mt Warren view and it was very pretty. Can only imagine if the weather was bit nicer than what we had, it would of been spectacular views but it was still nice regardless. Someone had a wedding party there in another area close by with their back drop of the creek which would of been lovely for them. We went on a long wknd and it became pretty full everywhere but still was ok. Area is pretty clean and only 40 minutes drive to Tweed Heads and about 15 minutes to Murwillumbah shops which has everything there u would need. Toilets (porta loos) are scattered but do not have flushing water so basically a "short drop". Did not use them so cant comment on cleanliness. Will definitely return as only approx 90 min drive from the Gold Coast.

Although the weather tried its best to ruin our trip it failed to do so. If you are looking to get away, sit back and admire the rolling hills whilst listening to nature this is a good place to do so.

Weekend Trip to Natural Bridge Retreat

This site is so picturesque, there’s nowhere like it. Tent camping right along the creek, by an amazing waterfall and rock pool, was beautiful. There’s an awesome short hike up to the plateau on the property with incredible views. There was a bit of mud due to rain when we camped, but Keith was awesome and helped us unbog the ute with his tractor. Great host, great site. Highly recommend.

3 nights at Oakey Ridge

So much space & much to admire. I had rescued a 3rd dog & was on my way outta Casino; this was the perfect place for the scared pup to get his 1st taste of freedom xx I chose the 1 fenced site so we could all relax, there was a tree to put our swag under & a portaloo 50m away or a short walk to full amenities + wifi. I was happy leaving the pups secured/in their crates napping while I went to use the shower/kitchen/wifi thanks to the fenced site. Had the place to ourselves, so we got to explore widely! Friendly host, already invited some friends & their dogs to visit ✨

2 nights at Rowlands Creek Camp Area

Loved the whole set up, felt super comfortable as a solo traveller, toilets were well kept. Fabulous stay and great exploring the surrounds, highly recommended!

2 nights at McKenzies Mountain, Wollumbin

What stood out to me about James’s land was the peaceful seclusion and the natural beauty all around. The site was well-maintained, with clear signage and thoughtful touches like fire pits and shaded spots. The stars at night were incredible—definitely a highlight! It’s a perfect spot if you’re looking to disconnect and enjoy nature. Perfect little break away. Definitely be coming back. P.s been able to get firewood straight from James is a plus too. Tks James for having was in your land.

It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp. Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent. Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east. Campers & Day Trippers Rules: The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park. By using this park you agree to the following rules. All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed limit. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure. Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish. It must be taken with you! The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem! Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set up on top of other campers. Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of 2pm to 6pm. Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all times. No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users. No antisocial behavior. No camping on creek banks. No playing around toilet block area. No livestock to be kept on the park. No cutting down trees. No person to travel in the load area of vehicles. No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between your campsite and the road. No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones or fireworks allowed in the park. No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek. No washing dishes or clothing in creek. No hitting of Golf balls. No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok). No swings to be tied to trees. Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for trespassing. Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use of the park. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Gerard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.
