It's so fresh we drink it! Each camping site is by the river, prime position for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. Based on availability, you are welcome to choose your spot on arrival. All options are grassed and level. You will have access to pit toilets (3) otherwise, please BYO facilities. Small campfires are welcome in the fire pits provided, or BYO firepit (permitting there are no restrictions in place at the time). Firewood can be purchased at the time of booking. We’re pet-friendly! Please note, however, that we are a working farm with ongoing activities and resident animals, including livestock and farm dogs, so all pets must be kept under control at all times. Aggressive, disruptive, or potentially dangerous dogs of any type are not allowed — especially restricted breeds (e.g. Pit Bulls, Bull Mastiffs). Only friendly dogs are permitted, and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog is deemed unsafe or aggressive upon arrival. If you have any doubts, please message us prior to booking. Also, please ensure kids are supervised at all times, particularly around the river. Lifejackets are recommended. During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. There are also some beautiful swimming spots and walks to discover in the region, as well as good facilities in town, including the local swimming pool and shopping centre. Enjoy a campsite overlooking the stunning Brindabellas, a small spot next to the dam, if you bring your 4WD, or a fabulous site next to the old cottage that comes complete with a flushing loo! Our beautiful border collie, Sollie, will naturally want to come say hi no matter which site you pick. There are plenty of local food and wine venues in the surrounding area for you to enjoy. Pets are welcome but we do have livestock on the property, so please keep them on leash. Campfires are allowed as long as there are no fire restrictions in place. All campers must have their own supplies and be self sufficient as we do not supply any amenities: you will need to be self-contained with own camping toilet, shower and water. Please do not dig a toilet hole, even though you leave it covered, it doesn't take long for the foxes to dig it up!! There is mobile reception. No shooting, archery or hunting. Camper trailers and caravans are welcome but can only stay at the easily accessible camp site. Please note, the road to the river is now impassable even for 4WD - we will update here when it is back up to scratch. But you do get your pick of 2 other lovely sites!

Merigan Farm is a 1400 Hectare (3500 acre) working sheep and cattle farm. Our family has lived at Merigan for more than 50 years. It has been a farm since the 1840s and we still run sheep and cattle in a regenerative manner, to this day. It’s a pleasure to be able to share the countryside and farm with guests. We currently offer two accommodation options: Cherry Tree - A cabin with a beautiful farm outlook. With a bookcase full of books and a fire pit for cosy evenings, it's the perfect escape. The Quarters - A private section of the old farmhouse offering rural charm and a perfectly comfortable stay. Merigan is the name of the local Parish and on Ngunawal country. It has been recounted by indigenous locals that Merigan means Dingo. The story being that Merigan fought the Bunyip and in their tussle created the rivers and creeks across the range. It’s a southern Australian Mediterranean environment with distinct seasons – it can reach over 42 degrees and in the winter its been known often to snow. Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening. Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden. Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area. Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite. Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies. Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area. Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite. Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Weekend Trip to The Ridge
A weekend at the Ridge provided exactly what my wife and I were after. A weekend where we did nothing but relax. The hosts, John and Pippa, were wonderful and very welcoming at their property. The walk with John and the Goats was insightful. John is full of fun facts about the area and, of course, Goats. To our surprise, the walk with the goats was very calming. The camp spot was great with a terrific view of the valley. It had plenty of options as to where you could set up your camp. There was a lo a very well-kept fireplace I would strongly recommend the addition of the Eggs and the bread; they were great. We will definitely be returning, I would say, many times. Weekend Trip to Shepherds Rest
My family, our dog and some close friends drove down from Sydney to Shepherds Rest for a nice long weekend get away, and honestly aside from the wind deciding it wanted to party - it was such a beautiful area. The local fauna gave a symphony of sounds to wake up to, along side the crisp, fresh air. Jacqui’s property has a communal area with a cozy kitchen, clean bathroom space, seated bbq space and fire pits. Jacqui is a super wholesome and lovely host, who is more than willing to try and help out for anything you need, we were greeted by her and her little shadow Brookie, a cattle dog who just wants to love you and check in on you. If you’re wondering if Shepherd’s rest is worth the visit (or the drive, if you’re from Sydney) I can with confidence 100% say for certain. Just make sure to pack for the weather in the cooler months, cause it can get really cold of a night time. Thanks again for having us, Jacqui. :)

We had an awesome long weekend at Burrendah Farm Camp! Sarah was super friendly and easy to communicate with, which made everything really smooth. The campsite was perfect, beautiful spot with incredible views of the Murrumbidgee River. We saw so much wildlife during our stay, an echidna wandered through our camp, two eagles flying overhead, heaps of roos, wallabies, lizards, and plenty of birds. It was great having access to the cottage too, with a proper bathroom and running water. Highly recommend this place if you’re after a peaceful spot surrounded by nature. We’ll definitely be back!

We had such a great time at Sarah's farm. Sarah, her dad Peter and husband Nick were all super helpful and friendly. The site is great - amazing views, lots of wildlife (we saw a wombat, two wedge tailed eagles, lots of other birds, numerous lizards, some wild deer and heaps of Roos and wallabies). The walk down to the river for a swim and fishing is no big deal (my 6yo managed it no sweat) and it's worth being a bit more elevated to take advantage of the amazing views.

Shepherd's Rest is a magic little spot. We stayed in the Barn Room and it was so comfortable and cozy... Not that we were in it much! The property and amenities are awesome, so much secure space for the kids to roam, a beautiful bathroom (love the bath) and gorgeous little kitchen. The animals are very curious and friendly (especially Squashy the llama!) and our dog got on really well with Jacqui's own sweet doggo. Jacqui was an exceptional host, so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We can't wait to plan our next trip back!

2 nights at The Ridge
Spent an amazing 2 nights @ The Ridge with my wife who was a first-time camper and she loved every minute of being in the outdoors! Apart from the beautiful sights of the kangaroos and other wildlife as well as the sounds of the birds, we enjoyed the gorgeous night sky in the warmth of the fire pit. While our second night was uncooperative weatherise, we still enjoyed our trip on the whole. Pippa and John are amazing hosts, friendly, accomodating with our questions and it was a treat meeting the pet goats cruising along the place! Bonus were the farm fresh dozen eggs and delicious home baked bread which is available to purchase as part of your booking, along with the coffee on a windy day. Will definitely return soon.

Weekend Trip to Merigan Farm
Lovely spot and such a great environment to get away and switch off. Still close enough to towns for food if needed, and only 35 minutes to Lake George's wineries. Hosts were very accommodating. Will definitely be back.
