If we had to choose one phrase to describe the magnificent wonder that is Niagara Falls, it might just be ‘jaw dropping.’ And for this reason, we highly recommend camping near Niagara Falls, where thousands of tons of water pass over the falls every second leaving you amazed. Be sure to visit all three falls— Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls, which are listed from largest to smallest and combined, produce the highest flow of water among any waterfall in the world. Camp at Four Mile Creek State Park, which is just a quick 30-minute drive from the park but feels a world away in terms of crowds (yes, Niagara Falls gets very crowded). If you’re looking for a change from tent or RV camping, give yurt camping a try. A bit further away from the falls, camp at Evangola State Park, Golden Hill State Park, or Cherry Hill Campground. Regardless of where you stay, you’re in for an exciting time—just don't forget your rain jacket.

If you visited Niagara Falls 12,000 years ago, it would have extended seven miles further down river. The change is due to erosion.
