Pull your kayaks out of deep storage, prep your tent, lace on your hiking shoes and head to Twin Falls, Idaho, an area rich in nature from Snake River cutting its way through a gorge and Shoshone Falls to Sawtooth National Forest. In fact, Sawtooth National Forest to the north and south, Three Island Crossing State Park to the west and Milner Historic Recreation Area to the east of Twin Falls boast plenty of camping opportunities. The Sawtooth National Recreation Area – which surrounds Twin Falls – boasts 700 miles of hiking trails alone. Hike up to the Pike Mountain Scenic Overlook to really appreciate the pristine wilderness, or camp at the Third Fork Trailhead for quick access to some exploring. If you want to stay even closer to town, think Snake River and Shoshone Falls Park. The huge falls gives you inner photographer something admire, and the hiking trails, boat ramp, and swimming area gives you a lot of somethings to do. If you need a break from camp food, head to downtown Twin Falls for some brunch at Depot Grill or Buffalo Cafe or a serious sandwich at The Twin Falls Sandwich Co.

A picture of totality during the eclipse event last summer. The chickens roosted, crickets started up, the stars came out, and the temperature plummeted 20 degrees during this event, it was amazing!
A view of King Mountain and Beaverland pass from the camping area. On the other side of the pass is a natural rock arch that can be accessed by car and a short hike.
