Look over the mountain ranges and lay on the sandy beach at Circle X Ranch, a former Boy Scout camp. There you can explore the highest point of the mountains, Sandstone Peak, surround yourself with ferns at the Grotto, and peer over the distant islands on cloudless days. This is the only campground in the SM mountains, all other campgrounds are in the state parks!
