The campsite/RV site sits on 8 acres of prairie with a small orchard of peach, apple and pear trees. The surrounding area is called Kettle Moraine State Forest with beautiful views and glacial remnants. The property also has bee hives, vegetable garden, fruit garden and tree house with two hammocks besides that campers are welcome to use and sleep in. There is state forest land across the gravel road. Its very secluded with two distant neighbors barely visible. A mile away, Long Lake State Park offers swimming, biking and fishing. A mile in the opposite direction is Butler Lake, which offers boating, fishing and hiking. In fact, the Ice Age Trail runs next to Butler Lake. Our location is very convenient for backpackers hiking on the Ice Age trail. There is a bike trail that starts at Long Lake State Park that brings you to Mauthe Lake State Park, which has a great beach for swimming, hiking and boating. The Zilmer hiking trail, Greenbush hiking/mountain biking/skiing trials, Parnell tower with hiking and the historic Wade house historic site and museum are all under ten miles away. The closest little town is Dundee and can be reached by car in five minutes or you can bike to it on bike trails, in 15 minutes. The Hamburger House, famous for their large ice cream cones and cheap prices is found in Dundee along with Camp Dundee bar and taco stand. A few minutes further is Tiki Beach Resort with food, drinks and beach with aquatic floating toys for the kids. The resort is located on Kettle Moraine Lake. Armstrong Apples Orchard and Winery is a 9 minute drive through scenic Kettle Moraine. Another great spot is SoLu Estate Winery is a 6 minute drive which also offers live outdoor music and sportsman club. For those that are hiking on the Ice Age Trail, my neighbor creates and sells beautiful walking sticks that are for sale with more information upon request.

Great stay! We booked the day before, and Mark was very responsive and helpful. When we arrived, the site was setup with wood, chairs, a grill rack, and some other helpful things. The land was beautiful and private. Would love to go back when the goldenrod starts to bloom.

Overall, we had a very good weekend day visit. Mark, the host, was very accommodating. The setup for the camp is nice. The prairie around the camp is beautiful, full of birds and other small animals. We even noticed fireflies, sporadically. Mosquitoes were heavy once it got dark. People in neighboring camps/homes were setting off fireworks very late into the night making it difficult to sleep at times. Simple, but a good site for a (mostly) quiet weekend. Would definitely recommend.

McDundee Hollow was a great, quiet place to camp. I loved that I could let my family explore the property without fear of strangers. It has a super convenient location by being snuggled in the Northern Kettle Moraine State Park units. The host was very knowledgeable of the area and provided lots of insight into the must sees. My favorite part of our stay was simply relaxing by the campfire with no sounds of radios or traffic, and my daughter sticks with the tree house as being the best part. I highly recommend staying here.

Picnic area. Hiking trails near by. Great view of fire, prairie and clouds building. Parnell Tower.

Two friends and I took our boys camping here for the weekend. The host was outstanding in providing directions, tips for things to do in the area, and otherwise making us feel comfortable.

The property is amazingly beautiful and provides very convenient access to all the Kettle Moraine has to offer.

Will definitely stay here again.

The site was a great size and adequately fit two tents (probably could’ve fit another two at least). The cooking grate installed over the fire pit was a huge surprise and very convenient. It rained the 5 days leading up to our trip, so the site was a little muddy, but not as bad as I was expecting. A lot of space for a dog to explore and plenty of open space if using a tie out. Convenient location for hikes and exploring. Only down side (for some) would be lack of shade, and since it’s an open field, the wind was a bit intense at times.

What a wonderful campsite. So private with more amenities than I ever expected. Super close to Kettle Moraine hiking areas yet “ so far away.” I hope to return soon.

Nice spot centrally located in Kettle Moraine. Campground area was cozy next to the fire. Our host Mark was thoughtful and timely. Thankfully the night sky was clear and we saw thousands of stars!
