Blackhawk Park Campground

Pool 9, as it's so affectionately called, is located on a forested bend of the Mississippi River. Blackhawk Park Campground is part of this prime recreation area, nestled beneath towering cottonwoods, swap oaks, and green ash. You’ll have to get in the river if you want to be where the action is -- kayaking, canoeing, fishing, boating, and swimming all offer respite from a scorching summer sun. As she sinks over the river, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more beautiful scene. Watch for soaring bald eagles, hike the bluffs, and thank the Army Corps of Engineers for bringing you this little utopia on the Mississippi.
