Description

Park-hopping through the Utah wilderness? Check in at Horsethief Campground, nestled in the stretch of open desert between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. If sprawling views of desert valleys speckled with tamarisk trees is your jam, you’ll be in paradise here. RVs and tents are welcome at this spot. Bonus: staying at Horsethief means you’ll always be only 18 minutes away from Dead Horse Point State Park (yes, that’s really the name).

Loved Horsetheif! We didn't book any sites in Canyonlands in advance and they were all booked up when we visited. The camp host was especially awesome and you can purchase firewood here! 10/10 would camp again.

Good location for access to Moab, Arches, Dead Horse Point State Park and Canyonlands. The campground is quite large so expect of have company while camping here. Lots of BLM land to explore around this area as well!

Camping here is INCREDIBLE. The views are unreal if you get a good spot. It's first come first serve so show up earlier in the day and pay for your spot and leave some things out to mark that it's taken. There isn't much tree cover but it gets breezy at night. This is a great spot if you are visiting Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point. I would also recommend mountain biking or hiking in Dead Horse Point. The whole trail has amazing views.

Great location for a Moab trip. Less than 30 minutes to Arches, Dead Horse, and Canyonlands. Terrific high desert views and even a little nice hiking trail on the grounds.
