Description

The Black Forest of the east has enough old-growth pines and hemlocks to rival Germany’s claim to fame. You’ll find an awe-inspiring cathedral in Cook Forest State Park, plus a meandering and serene river that is perfect for beginner paddlers. Hike through the incredible forest to Seneca Point for amazing views of the Seneca Valley, then make tracks to your campsite for a meal of grilled something-or-other and an ice-cold brew. Sleep under the canopy of these towering trees—Cook Forest is waiting to share its secrets with you.

So many good memories staying here when I was younger! Also not to be missed in the area is the canoeing! You can get a ride up river so that you can enjoy yourself on the downriver portion. Once we even brought our dog on the canoe! (I don't think he liked it very much).

The Cook Forest area has a TON of amazing camping opportunities and things to do outdoors. The rich history of this area is constantly on display. The Clarion River is amazing for water recreation. The hiking in the area is challenging and beautiful.
