Campsite1 is a tent site surrounded by woods near a lake for up to 6 people. Included is unlimited firewood with everything you need for a campfire. There are benches around the campfire and a picnic table to use. Unlimited water is provided and a portapotty only your campsite uses. This campsite is ideal for people looking for a quiet camping trip.
Camp Blackbird is a secluded 28-acre property located along the border of Beltzville State Park in Lehighton, PA. This tent site, Campsite1, is surrounded by trees with a partial view of the 949-acre lake. Walk a short ways to swim or sit along the lake. Miles of hiking trails for you to explore from your site. You are not on top of other campsites and the state park does not allow overnight camping. You might hear people on the lake from your site during the day but overall, its a quiet spot. There is a 2nd campsite about 250-ft away from your campsite.
In addition to the beautiful immediate surroundings, we are centrally located near many exciting destinations. Year round activities at Blue Mountain Resort, adventure on The Appalachian Trail, fine dining, biking the rail trail and white water rafting in Jim Thorpe, all within a 25 minute drive.
The property is not suitable for parties or events. The area is a QUIET ZONE. Ideal for people looking to unplug from it all and become one with nature. It is teaming with wildlife and is ideal for birding. The hosts mission is to disturb wildlife and its habitats as little as possible.
From your car to the campsite is a 30 second walk. It's the earth you are laying your tent on so its not perfectly flat or without stones. We recommend bringing an air mattress, cot, foam pad or extra blankets to lay down on your tent floor. Some past campers have slept in their car in the driveway. If you prefer sleeping in your car, Campsite2 has a better layout for that.
We welcome pets. Please add your photos! Especially of your dog camping!
You are welcome to rent Campsite1 and Campsite2 at the same time if you have a group up to 12 people counting all ages.
We, the hosts, live on the property about 900 ft from the campsite. We try to have minimal interactions with the guests to ensure privacy and personal space but we're always reachable.
VERY IMPORTANT - NO PARTIES or unregistered guests on the property. There are other campgrounds in the area that are great for people who want to party.

This spot was fantastic! Everything we could have hoped for right there on the lake!
It was a 3 minute walk to the water, we had firewood provided, water provided, and were not disturbed at any point!
Will defintely return!
The hosts, Sarah and Stein, were very responsive, helpful and flexible. The campsite is in a lovely wooded spot and is well laid out and set up with water, a picnic table, fire pit and wood, and a toilet. Really kind of the best of both worlds - isolated like a primitive campsite but with all the convenience of a campground. The site is also located on a lovely quiet branch of the lake and a nice little hiking path along its shore. We had a nice swing off a nearby rope swing and swam at a nice swimming area minutes away on foot. We had a great time
This site was great, we booked last minute but were happily accommodated. The site was easy to find and clean. Since it is located near a main road BUT right off a back-road on the property, you get the best of both worlds, privacy and seclusion but close to town if you need an extra blanket (like we did). The only complaint (and it is barely a complaint) is that there must be an small airport near by, on the last day there was a small plane in the sky for at least 3 hours which caused a lot of noise. Again, it was not for the whole trip and the site was pretty quiet otherwise, but if you want complete quiet, this isn't the site for you. If you want mostly secluded and quiet, with the luxury of only having to walk 100 ft to your car to unload, this place is perfect. The hosts were kind and responded quickly to us, although all of our needs were met in advance. We also definitely recommend the all you-can-pick-blueberry farm down the road, great produce and so cheap!!

We stayed at this great spot with our kids and had a fantastic time. All as advertised, well kept, very private, and nearby beautiful trails and lake access. We did not see the hosts while we were camping, but they were attentive and thought of everything we needed. Well maintained fire pit, level picnic table, plenty of water, clean port o potty, and appreciated that they left kindling, extra paper and lighter for starting fire. Would definitely return sometime.
Site was super easy to find (thanks to the great map and communication of the host).
I loved that we had access to a portapotty but it was off to the side so it didn’t interrupt our amazing views.
We were provided with a huge jug of water and an ample amount of firewood.
There was a picnic table placed in the most rad opening so when the sun was shining it was like it was highlighting the table at noon. Looked like it was straight out of a movie! :)
It’s just a short walk to the lake which was warm, clean and felt like our own.
Host was available if we needed anything.
Totally recommend this spot!

The place was just as described and very soothing. No sounds other than nature and the sound of nice firewood. I went for a couple days with my dog just to get out of the city and perhaps cool off a bit, we got to swim, hiked, found some fossils, made a fire and enjoyed the solitude and peace. I will be back perhaps with a little more time and will recommend to all. :)

Beautiful camp! Looks exactly like the pictures. Great location with activities nearby such as Jim Thorpe. Stein was so nice when we arrived. He was very responsive prior to the trip and was kind enough to let us set up camp a little early because of our day plans.
We came for my boyfriend's birthday and wanted a quiet place in nature which is exactly what we got. Definitely plan on coming back!

Secluded, well-kept campgrounds. Great for 4 campers. Five min walk to secluded lakeside section. Also: unlimited firewood.
While I have been camping for a long time -- mostly car camping usually at state parks and backcountry camping on backpacking trips -- this was my first experience with Hipcamp. And I have to say, this campsite far exceeded my expectations.
This is car camping at it's finest. My favorite part about this site was its beauty and privacy. One of my biggest gripes about car camping in state parks is that it always feels like you are on top of other people and for me, it defeats the purpose of being outdoors. This site is quiet, well-maintained and extremely private. Did not see another person on the property the whole time I was there. I fell asleep to the sounds of frogs on the lake and woke up to sun peeking through the trees. Could read a book in my hammock while sipping on my morning coffee and gazing at the lake and felt totally relaxed and in my element. Large fire pit and plentiful supply of dry firewood and kindling. Just a few minute walk to the lake for hiking and birdwatching. Hosts were great with directions and communication before the trip. Cannot recommend this site enough! Thank you!
