Beautiful dark night skies. One wall of the cabin is all glass so you always feel a little bit outside. There is a deck you can sit on that makes you feel like you are up in the trees. The shower is nice and hot and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare most simple meals but no oven. We have chickens so you can have fresh eggs. You can wake up and see the horses and stroll through the woods to the creek.

The vibe at Kindred Spirits Cabin
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Private and peaceful glasshouse cabin in the woods! It's magical and a perfect getaway. The space is gives you the best of both worlds: the beauty of nature and the comforts of home. The cabin is well furnished with a new couch that folds out as a bed, a side table and coffee table, a chair, a shelf for clothing, and a space heater. I love all the big windows which make you feel like you're in a forest, yet it's so comfortable inside the cabin where you can cozy up under covers in bed. Probably the best thing is laying in bed and looking out at that view. Although sitting on the deck sipping tea is also pretty awesome.
I could just stay and relax in the cabin all day, but there's so much to explore here...like just a few steps away is a creek and a private fire pit for bbqing. And around the corner is your own private kitchen, complete with everything you need to make a meal. A little further across a small bridge is the garden with raspberries, blackberries, and veggies for picking. Nicole provides fresh eggs too upon request. Cooking is a breeze because there's a private kitchen. And if you feel like eating out, you can just walk to Cocina 7 - a fun hangout spot for locals with excellent live music and delicious tacos. A short drive from here are lots of amazing wineries - and I'm talking biodynamic, organic, creekside, award-winning wineries. Really, you just need to stay here at least 2-3 days!
Please read! I would highly recommend everyone to spend a weekend at Kindred Spirits. It's not only a beautiful getaway, but more so an experience that my wife and I can't wait to repeat. It was beyond worth the 4.5hr drive from Portland to celebrate our anniversary and you cannot beat the price.
The property is gorgeous and peacefully serene, sitting on a 5 acre farm surrounded by mountain views with horses and a handful of wonderfully entertaining dogs. There is plenty of land to explore, as Nicole allows you to go into the horse pastures and use her personal grounds to play games and relax.
The cabin is everything it needs to be. It feels like you're sleeping in the trees... big enough to be comfortable while small enough to force you outside. The bed is comfortable, room is clean and updated (with electricity), the seperate kitchen is only a few steps away with everything needed to prep and cook full meals. (We packed a cooler of prepared dished for 4 days and ate every meal on the property. Cooked over the fire or on the electric burner). The outhouse is extremely clean and comfortable to use.
Make the time to interact with Nicole, she's a blast! Knowledgable about all the things to do in the area (which there is surprisingly a lot of) and if nothing else will entertain you with stories. We ended up accompanying her to a vineyard where we watched paragliders land in the field.. she really knows how to make your stay feel personal.
All in all, I would say this is the best hipcamp/airbnb experience I've had. My wife and I will most definitely be returning for another weekend getaway.
We had a wonderful overnight stay. Nicole helped us find all the local sites - Pacifica Park, Jacksonville historic downtown, local wineries, Pennington Farms, and dinner on the river at Applegate River Lodge. The accommodations were exactly as expected - cozy, rustic, clean, and quiet.
It was a very special stay. The view from the cabin is breathtaking. All the spaces: sleeping area, outdoor bathroom and kitchen were super clean. The kitchen had everything you might need. The place has amazing dogs and beautiful horses.
We loved Kindred Spirit from the moment we got there!
Nicky was a delightful host and made sure that we had everything that we needed during our 4 day stay. This place was the perfect place to escape the noise of the city. We will be back!!
My husband and I loved our stay here. The space is really lovely and peaceful. We were greeted by Nicky's friendly dogs when we pulled up, and we enjoyed meeting some of the horses and area cat. The cabin itself was cozy and sweet, and enjoying a cup of tea on the porch while looking out at the trees is pretty magical. Nicky was helpful and responsive, and she obliged our request for a few fresh eggs from her chickens for breakfast! We would love to come back here and recommend the Kindred Spirits cabin for anyone who wants to get away for a quiet escape.
Where to begin... Kindred Spirits is a magical little ranch off the beaten path NW of Ashland, offering hospitality, privacy, beautiful scenery, and a taste of the frontier. Nicole (and her clan of wily dogs and horses) greeted us and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The kitchen was equipped and stocked--not to mention well decorated-- with everything you would need for a night of cooking on the open fire. Make sure to bring your western wear and riding attire so that you can go out with Nicole and her horses for some early morning rides. Even though we only stayed for a short time, we felt connected to the land and can't wait to return. We can't recommend stopping here if you're passing through, or making the trip for Kindred Spirits!
Gracias, Marshall, Rose, and Nicole! Pura vida!
