Get your butt ta Augusta—specifically Fort Custer—with as many friends as you can muster! Alongside this modern campground, you’ll find not one, not two, but three whole lakes, plus the Kalamazoo River, in which to splash around as you please betwixt mountain biking, horseback riding, dog sledding, and other such on-land activities. You’ll also delight in the old-growth forests and prairie restoration this area boasts—but watch out for poison ivy! Unfortunately it’s been spotted on this campground, but hey, Mother Nature’s gotta keep us in line somehow.

I'm so thankful to live somewhat close to this woodsy, yet modern campground! The plethora of hiking and biking trails, beautiful sandy beach, and well-cared for campground make this campground a gem. We especially enjoyed the nighttime family bonfire gatherings (think: guitar+fun campfire songs+s'mores!) put on by the hosts, and the delicious hot coffee they offered near the entrance on our last day there. The bathrooms & showers are kept very clean, and the playground is centrally located. There's a great field area for night time star viewing, or to play a game of frisbie during the day. The campground felt very safe, and our children rode bikes nearby during the day. We can't wait to stay again!
