Description
Within shouting distance of New Brunswick and Quebec, Aroostook State Park is an awesome base camp if you want to get your culture on. Skip over the border to practice your French, and then head back to the states to enjoy the icy waters of Echo Lake. Black flies, the mosquito’s violent and brutal cousins, are ravenous in early spring, so if you’re an angler looking for spring’s first trout, be prepared. They ease up a bit in the summer, allowing you to enjoy the miles of hiking trails, kayak the shores of the lake, and relax fireside in your private campsite.
