There was no data around our campsite, the bathroom/ rec center however had free WiFi and it was only a short walk away. Host provided lots of firewood, more than you would get in store and was very quick to provide it which we appreciated very much!
There were directions on how to get to some really lovely water/swimming holes which was very nice as well!

I was looking for a quiet campground to relax and solitude.. This was the perfect place for me. Although I stayed in the RV area, the individual tent sites were all very private.
The open area was great for stargazing in the evenings.
Adam and his family were very polite and helpful when I needed a hand.. and I learned a little bit about the history of the campground, which explained some of the unique climbing apparatus throughout the area.
I would happily recommend this campground and the peaceful community around it.

I have learned that some buildings at Thunder BRidge have been there since the 30s, back when they were building the parkway. Then it became a juvenile detention camp. The camp was shut down in 09 and sat vacant until around 2021. So much history here.
Adam has done a great job restoring this historic site. It is extremely peaceful there with deer playing and roaming every night. Unfortunately I never did get to meet Adam, but he was very communicative and accommodating with clear instructions. I was at RV Site 1. (Power and Water). There is a really nice dump station nearby the sites. Don't forget to bring bug spray. There are a lot of gnats there, but you actually get use to them. We stayed for 2 nights and hated to leave. This is one of the most unusual places I have ever camped at, but loved it and will be back. Natural Bridge is beautiful and this place is only 10 minutes away from it. Give it a try. You will love it.

Adam is very helpful, kind, patient and responsive. We were very slow getting in and he waited for us and was ready to direct us into the camp. He gave us a map and was available for questions and very prompt in responses. We had a great time there and our party of 4, including 2 kids (4 and 11) had more than enough space at our site (woodpecker 1). There was plenty of seating and the cots were better than expected. We appreciated the directions to the swimming hole and other campers told me they were really great places to swim but we ran out of time! Will definitely check that out next time. This kids also loved the ping pong table!

I loved the campsite area. It was clean and very private, quiet and large and all campsites were very well dispersed. There were a multiple benches around the fire pit area and Adam was extremely helpful and helped us navigate to the campsite when we checked in.

We enjoyed our stay in a tent at Bunny 2 site. It was peaceful and quiet, and there was firewood by the campfire when we arrived. We had two wonderful evenings in family! The owner was also very accommodating on short notice! thanks for everything!

Butterfly 1 was the perfect spot for our family! Our girls loved having easy walking access to the river. The firepit was perfect set up for s’mores. It was great to have the seating area by the firepit and inside the shelter. The spot was private and quiet with easy access to nearby gas station for essentials we forgot. We will definitely keep this spot in mind for future adventures!

This was our second time camping here in the past year- Adam is super responsive and helpful, you get a lot of wood for $10 (compared to Va state parks), the sites are well kept and all unique, and the bathhouse is clean.
We originally were going to camp at butterfly 2, but Adam let us move to woodpecker 3 (which has a cover) to pitch our tent under for forecasted thunderstorms. He also helped us with our river tubing route, where we put in from his nearby river access (which happens to have very cute farm animals) and got out at the Glasgow public access which took about two hours. I also lost my keys and he helped look for those.
It thunderstormed for part of our trip so we hung out in the super nostalgic main lodge and played ping pong to wait out the storm. Overall a second time great experience and we will definitely be back- this property is so cool and conveniently located!

Thunder Bridge was beautiful, rustic, well maintained and felt very private. The owners were so kind and helpful to us when my car broke down. We would come back anytime, a wonderful experience!

This camp is peacefully situated in a beautiful forest with a clean creek running through the back end of the campground. With lots of large, spread out camp sites you will have lots of privacy to relax. Nice park model screen cabins with cots to sleep on and a table. Large fire pits and our space also had a fire pit grill. We will definitely be returning!

What a great space and experience! Quiet and secluded, yes close enough to the hike, breweries, cider house, and other attractions. Brad was fantastic, met us right when we walked in, and was super helpful. Looking forward to coming back.

Great camp sites and very interesting camp ground primarily for boondocking. Surrounding area was outstanding for hiking and bike riding as this is just off the App Trail and adjacent to Jefferson National Forest. Gorgeous!

Great spot in a beautiful area! The campsite was clean and ready for us upon arrival and the bathhouse/ rec hall were a great reminder of summer camp. Highly recommend pre-ordering firewood onsite; was a good amount for the price and much easier not having to haul it to camp.

I absolutely love the site! It was spacious and not too close to anyone else. The bathrooms were clean and convenient. My friends and I were impressed and talking about how excited we are to come back.

This place was a lot of fun. Very close to local attractions like Natural Bridge State Park and Dinosaur Adveture 2. Owner was very attentive and responsive. Had a blast with a group 17 folks at 4 total sites. Would highly recommend of your looking for an affordable, no frills camping experience. Also the location has such an intrusive history which really brought out the creativity in the kids of our group.

Great camp that the kids loved. Bath house was clean, sites were spacious, and wifi at the pavilion was great for the kids to call mom each night. Adam was great to work with and super helpful!

We loved the cabin! It was beautiful and comfortable. The area of the campsite is very quiet. You can hear the nearby creek while sitting outside by the campfire.

Wonderful camp grounds and easy access in/out. We really enjoyed the privacy of the Bunny4 campsite but also how convenient it was to still get to the bathrooms and common room. This is a pretty secluded site so there will be bugs. The camp site is a short walk from (not next to) the parking spot, so plan your gear accordingly. We would absolutely rebook this site.

The site we stayed at is lovely. It is our second year staying there. Adam was prompt and friendly to greet us, and the firewood bundle that he provides is well cured and worth the money!

My family and I had 2 RV sites and loved our stay. Beautiful back drop of the mountains and a large peaceful field all around. Adam was amazing and was very communicative. The facilities were great and it had a awesome play house for entertainment. We will definitely came back!

Had a really nice stay at Thunder Bridge Campground. We stayed in the RV section, which was fine but no shade (fortunately not too hot). The camping section looks really nice and would be cooler in summer if your RV is off-grid capable.

We had a great time at Thunder Bridge! The campsite had plenty of room for our two tents, and spacing between other campsites was good for privacy. Adam was a great host who was very helpful and even delivered a second bundle of wood to the camp site for us. There is lots to do in the surrounding area and we would enjoy returning in the future!

We tent camped at Woodpecker 4, and it was fantastic. I've camped at several public and private campgrounds in that area and this has been by far the best. The amenities were great, showers were hot, bathrooms were clean, wifi was good to check the weather and maps, the creek was a great feature to explore for the kids, there were minimal bugs and the best part, the campsites were the farthest away from each other I have been to at a campground. Adam was highly responsive and very accommodating. We will definitely be back!
