The historic French built antebellum plantation home and gardens was built circa 1793-1820. The home and gardens is located on the Ouachita River. I built a culinary herb farm and nursery on the plantation grounds, in which I was named after by my family. My farm is called Louisiana Herbs LLC. Their are plenty of great sites to pitch a tent and camp in the plantation gardens or on the river bank. We can wine and dine you at the plantation dinner table with home cooked Louisiana cuisine (optional for an extra cost) & get you liquored up with mint juleps, homemade absinthe, mix drinks, etc. anywhere on the plantation grounds is acceptable to pitch a tent and make a campfire. we can provide wood, & possible minimal electricity to your camp area for now. there is access to water at the greenhouse area, as well as electricity. the greenhouse is a culinary herb farm and nursery, no smoking tobacco near the nursery and greenhouse area.

Great overnight stay... not too far off major highway.
They have a trail on the property that gave our 2 little Chihuahuas an added delight with all the various smells & a great way to stretch your legs.
Property was well manicured - grass was cut, sites were excellent & the wifi is an added touch.
Overall great stay & will definitely recommend to other travelers if in this area.

So peaceful. The spaces are wide and far enough apart to allow a little privacy. Our site was more than long enough for the truck and 5th wheel. Just FYI, all of the connections are at the back of the site, so make sure you have long hoses if your water and sewer are mid-rig like ours. Nicely treed and far enough off the road that you don't hear the road noise.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Container Cabin
We really enjoyed having access to the beautiful creek. Exploring upstream and downstream was one of the highlights of our trip. We took our chairs and our coffee each morning and sat on the sandbar while the sun rose. It was very peaceful. Cooking over an open fire each night was also extremely enjoyable.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Container Cabin
I was in town for a few days working in Natchez and decided to book this cabin for a nature getaway, since I’d previously stayed in hotels and wanted a different experience. The drive to and from Natchez was easy and manageable. I stayed two nights, and the cabin had everything I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the AC was ice-cold—perfect after a hot day outside.
Zach went above and beyond by providing plenty of firewood and bottled water, which made the stay super convenient. I didn’t need to leave the cabin for anything. The location is very secluded; I didn’t see another person the entire time, yet I still felt completely safe. Zach stayed in regular contact throughout my stay, which made me feel especially secure and cared for as a solo traveler.

Zach's land is very beautiful. I was able to camp for two nights. The campsite was secluded and shady. Hardly heard any noise from the road. I felt like I was the only human in existence there. The creek was very nice too. A bit too shallow for fishing but still a wonderful spot to wade around in.

The camping area is very large and very secluded. It is mowed grass surrounded by old pecan trees. It is next to a river, but with my bad knees I didn't venture to the top of the dike. Breston invited me in for seafood gumbo and cornbread. I had a great chat with him. I also met his father. I gave him some money for the meal, but I had no problem with that. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys southern hospitality.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Container Cabin
The container cabin was great! The walk to the creek is nice and there were so many birds in the area. Unfortunately, I picked a rainy weekend, so I didn't get to enjoy the outdoors as much as I wanted to, but one night was clear and perfect for stargazing. The immediate area around the cabin is clear of trees so there's lots of sky to see while still being surrounded by nature. The cabin has all you need and definitely enough space for a couple and one or two kids. The drive to Natchez isn't too long and it's beautiful, so that was a bonus. I guess the rain interrupting my plans means I'll just have to book another stay.

The location on US 61 was very nice, all level campsites plus packed down gravel access road. The front of the campground appeared to be an old roadside motel, but is actually apartments. The campsites were really good, had 50a, 30a, and 120 electrical, water hookup, and onsite sewage, all sites were mostly level (except for 19 & 20, I had to use shims on one side). Plus, A couple of very bright security lights illuminated the entire campground very well.
I never met the host. We communicated by text only, and only after I sent him an email informing him we arrived. Please note, there is NO internet or phone service!! There appears to be guest internet service, but it needed a password, which wasn’t provided to us. There is also a laundry room at the south end of the apartment building, and the host did provide the pass code for access.
Overall, we were pleased with the location, easy to find. The camp sites were well maintained and private. But, In my opinion, this location is not suited for a long term stay. Picnic tables were all located in the middle of a fire ant infested yard with barely any shade, & campsites are all lined up next to one another-especially if full capacity!

Great scenic spot right on the creek. Cabin was great. Made a day trip to Natchez, which was only 40 miles. Great fire pit and outdoor furniture. Zach was a great host. This will be a great place to visit in the warmer months to swim in the creek. We will definitely be back!

Base Camp is top notch. Amazing tiny space with incredible attention to detail in the woods a stone’s throw from a picturesque sandy creek. I brought my 2 youngest boys for the weekend and we had the perfect mix of wilderness and comfort. Cooked all our meals in the fire pit and grill but had the luxury of showers and a big comfy bed and central heat to sleep. Zach was an incredibly responsive and helpful host. This was my first time using Hipcamp and it was a breeze.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Container Cabin
This spot was such a special treat. My husband and I had a wonderful weekend here. It was quiet, relaxing, full of modern amenities, and we had the best day enjoying the nearby creek. Zach left us firewood too, which was an unexpected and welcomed surprise. There’s lots of hiking throughout the Homochitto Forest to enjoy as well.
I can’t recommend this listing enough. A perfect stay.
