Camp Koʻolau provides bathrooms, a warm-water outdoor shower with an amazing view, and parking. Our farm is only a 5-minute drive to the beach, and 15 minutes from popular, Kailua town. As a working farm, we do have insects and geckos hanging around. So, it's not uncommon to encounter them. Also, we often have visits from wild pigs that come down from the mountain, so you may see them as well. Although we are certain you will love this place, please keep in mind, it takes a lot of hard work to maintain it. Thus, you will probably hear farm equipment and activities buzzing about (typically on the weekends). And, we want you to respect, love, and care for this place as much as we do by leaving it better than you found it.

This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, bugs, geckos, free roaming chickens or other elements to be expected in nature, this might not be the place for you. Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. Welcome to Hau'ula Homestead! We are located on O‘ahu, the beautiful Hawaiian Island. Right across the road from Hau'ula Beach park and a short drive from famous North Shore beaches. Flat grass field with some trees and bordered by a stream. We have two RV/tent campsites available. If you are bringing an RV, we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. No hookups are available at this time, the sites are flat. Campfires not permitted. We are pet-friendly, but please keep your pets on leash. A toilet, potable water, and wifi are all available. Kokololio Beach Park is a 2-minute drive from the site. Hau'ula Loop Trail is only 4 minutes away. Kokololio Beach is a nice stretch of sand and during the summer months, swimming is possible. When coming from the south, turn left toward the mountain immediately before the long Hauula Beach park bridge or when coming from the north turn right immediately toward the mountain just after the long park bridge into my dirt driveway. You will have the small river on your righthand side as you drive in.

Sun Farms exceeded my expectations when it came to visiting the area while car camping. The amenities on sight, the privacy of the bathrooms & showers, and the quietness of its location- couldn’t have been much better of a place to call “home base” for 5 nights. The evenings were peaceful and all the decorative lightening made it feel like a charming fairytale. The staff were all extremely friendly and did an excellent job of maintaining the public use areas clean & tidy. Will definitely be staying again! ☀️

It was very private! In fact, we were the only guests at the campground. The host is super kind and accommodating! Perfect for a couple traveling in a van who wants privacy. The shower was very hot and cute. It’s a huge open grassy field and we could park wherever we wanted. The property is secure and closed off with a locked gate.

The campground feels super family-friendly and welcoming. The hosts are incredibly kind and thoughtful! There were exotic fruits everywhere—grapefruit, starfruit, mango… and with Michael’s permission, we even got to pick our own starfruit! They were so juicy and delicious. The spot is great too—just a few minutes’ walk from a small market and a quiet little beach.

We liked this site - there was only one other group camping when we were there and they were friendly. The covered sink and dining area were pretty and clean and the bathroom and shower were lovely! We liked the friendly ducks, friendly owners and proximity to town plus it felt so safe and secure!

This was a nice place to rest. It’s very exposed “ie the name the great lawn” so if you like a little more of a cove, then one of the other spots might be a better fit. Nice chill, simple space! Would definitely come back if needed an overnight. Easy bus access too, long way to walk for food though.

Me and my daughter had an amazing time and our best decision was to camp in Marcos and Michelle's site. Sun farm is beautifully taken care and the people that stay there are super cool too. They have lovely projects around the farm and the structure is well cared and have everything you need. It is super safe as well and well located to visit the best spots in the island. A big thanks to Marcos and Michelle.

Very beautiful and relaxing location. Mike does a great job being hospitable, offering fruit to eat from the trees! The circus tent on site 2 kept us nice and dry and made our stay more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to a friend! Some cons though: large potholes on the entry road and gotta come prepared for a lot of mosquitoes.

Absolutely loved this campsite! My husband and I went with a Campervan and we really enjoyed our stay. Kristian, the farm manager, was very welcoming and was always available for any questions or concerns we may have. The place is beautiful and it looks that they put a lot of effort to take care of it. Showering in the roofless shower is an amazing experience, it even has hot water! At night, we lit a fire and shared some drinks with other campers and Kristian, we had a really nice time. There are a couple of dogs and a cat that live there and are very cute and charming.
