Our property is in a secluded neighborhood, a 4.2 mile drive in from the main road (Highway 11). The drive in or out should take about 10-15 minutes. Volcano National Park is 19 miles from our home and will take about 30 minutes to drive. We are 18 miles from Hilo Farmers Market/downtown Hilo and again should take about 30 minutes. Pahoa area is 20 miles from us and just past a 30 minute drive. Tour the island during the day and come back to a spacious, private courtyard campsite where you can experience the beauty and sounds of our forest sanctuary.

There is snorkeling, beaches, local food, Cafe, BBQ, poke, fish-n-chips, grocery, Sunday farmers market and hiking nearby.
It is peaceful here, but also an active farming community.
As an organic farm, we put alot of effort into soil building and as such, there are soft places that will be damaged by the weight of a vehicle. Staying on the driveway is best. We will guide you to where you need to go.
Our road is paved, but bumpy. Any vehicle will make it without damage if driven slowly. 1 to 4mph tops. *Be sure to avoid the camper rental companies that restrict certain roads.

Hunting & Foraging: There is great hunting for wild boar on the property. Lots of wild fruit and berries are free for the picking.

We are a 2 year old food forest/ sustainable farm located in Mountain View, Hawai'i at 1800ft. So far we have about 25 fruit trees growing along with a vegetable bed, herbs, and numerous flowers and ornamentals. Guests are welcome to any food growing that is ready to harvest. Incredible amounts of love has been poured into this land and there's an infinite amount more to come.
We are located within a 20-25 minute drive from Volcanoes National Park. Two of the best restaurants on the island (Wyatt's Place and Da Beans Greens Cafe) are located within a 12 minute drive, and the Mountain View post office and water spigots are located within a 8 minute drive.
This is an ideal site for car campers and vanlifers. You are welcome to bring your own tent and pitch it anywhere on the open grass area as well.
We have an outdoor kitchen with a 2 burner stove, fridge, copper drinking water container, and a 250 gallon water tank for washing dishes. We have a professionally built outhouse style Humanure Composting toilet.
We are less than 200 feet from the paved road so any vehicle will be able to drive straight onto the land. The land is located in a very safe part of the neighborhood with great neighbors closeby (but not too close)!

Hipcamp’s best, most temperate, comfortable weather on the island. Parking is available outside the gate, with additional space inside a locked double-wide gate for secure access. Room for a van, truck, RV, or car (no hookups). A few extra spots may be available if you need multiple—just let me know. The property sits under a canopy of rainbow eucalyptus on 3 quiet acres, backed by a Hawaiian reserve.
The cabin is a tranquil 2-bedroom, semi–open-air space with a loft. The loft is accessed by small stairs and is not disability accessible. The other sleeping area is open with new flooring—please bring a sleep pad. There is no bed at this time. An attached open-air kitchen area includes water collection and basic food utensils.
Message me with any needs or questions, and I’ll do my best to help. There’s also a solar setup you can connect to if you have a solar generator. The food forest and garden areas are young and still establishing. If you hike, stay aware of your surroundings—there are lava tubes and uneven drops. The trails are safe if you choose to explore.
You’ll also find the biggest ʻōhiʻa I’ve ever seen near the corner of the cabin. I value respect and privacy, and you can count on that from me. If you happen to notice my security camera, it is not active. While you’re here, it’s your place—your liberty and peace matter most. Make yourself at home and enjoy.

Lava covered the site on 5 September 1990, after more than a thousand years of peaceful fertility. The flow met the Hakuma horst and was diverted north, filling the village of Kalapana and the beautiful Kaimu Bay. Lava continued to flow in the area for another 20 years, until 2011. We are restoring the fertility by bringing in mulch and soil and planting coconuts, mango trees, moringa, plumeria, figs, dragonfruits, and more.
Near the camp sites we've recently constructed a house out of local wood; it provides some shelter from the nearly constant trade winds. Premium strawberry guava BBQ firewood can be purchased by prior arrangement. There's a shower with cold water; it doesn't get very cold!
1 mile from ocean cliffs, 2 miles to a basic grocery store and a great weekly farmers market, 2.5 miles to Volcanoes National Park, 5 miles to Kehena public black sand beach at the base of the cliffs, with a community drum circle on Sundays. Welcome to the wild coast of South Puna!
Optionally produce from our nearby rainforest garden. We may offer guided tours to local historical caves and bicycle trips to hidden beaches deep inside Volcanoes National Park.

I was looking for a quiet spot to do Tai chi as the sun was rising then finish my book. This spot was perfect, with a georgeous view, permaculture vibe and a small pavilion to chill in. A nice breeze was blowing thru the evening and the sound of the cane grass and banana tree leaves is a memory ill carry for a long time.
I even came back a few nights later and used this as base camp before a great hike in the Kau desert which was on my hike list for a long time.
I highly recomend this spot for anyone looking for peice and quite.

This camping location was purely ideal. The large grassy area for camping was very private and spread out. We could not see the one additional camper and it was amazingly quiet. Weirdly there were no chickens during our stay.
The short walk to the lava cliffs led us to 2 chairs and the most amazing view of the blue waters and crashing waves! What an oasis you have created here! Better than the photos!!!
The host and hostess were great! They met us upon arrival and gave us info on where to park and how to use the jacuzzi! There was a spacious shower with plenty of hot water.
The friendly dogs provided us a doggie fix we needed as we have been away from our pooch for a month.
We highly recommend Wild Blue Waters! Thank you so much! Aloha and we will definitely visit again 🙏🏼

While we had no direct interaction with our host, one of the other tenants greeted us and showed us the ropes. There are no great camping views, but the bathrooms were clean, kitchen area convenient, and a shower is always nice. Plus we are orchid geeks, so really enjoyed walking through all the tents and seeing the variety of plants. We would 100% stay here again on another visit, but it looks like the proprietor might be moving away from hosting campers.

The meadow is soft for sleeping on and in the morning we could see the ocean in the distance. Lots of different plants and trees including a big tree that smells like cinnamon and sounds like a rain stick when the breeze blows. It is a long bumpy road but Colin will give good directions. There is a grocery store mall not far away for supplies (and rest rooms)

Could not reccomend Blaze’s land enough. It was even more stunning than pictures could do it justice. The pups were sweet and welcoming and you can’t beat the views. We will definitely be staying here again and already can’t wait to come back!

The host Tom is a very nice person, we got very well welcomed. As it was raining and we had a tent, he let us sleeping for free into one of his set. There is an outside shower and toilets with hot water. The site is very close to the Volcano National Park.

We stayed here for a night with two sleeping cars and one tent, you got plenty of space. Colin was very nice and always available for helping us. The road to get there is a bit bumpy but nothing too crazy.

We got in late and had to leave early, but the facilities we used (shower, bathroom) were wonderful. The groundskeeper was very kind and helpful, and the property is well attended to. Directions were well written. Would absolutely stay here again and get to enjoy it for longer.

As per other reviews, this place is great. Peaceful and quiet. There were some wild pigs rummaging about at night but they weren't too disturbing and when we caught sight of them in the day we were excited to see them. The porta potty was fine. The campsites flat. Good all around.

This is such a beautiful and calm place. The bathroom is in the middle of the campground. You have a nice view to all of the plants and you can hear the ocean. Shawn welcomed us directly when we arrived. He has 5 dogs but they are very friendly.

We hiked the Kilaeaua Iki trail! A beautiful hike across a solidified lava field. Lots of Ohia! Lots of birds! There was also a lava tube to hike through at another segment of the trail.

Honestly one of the best campgrounds I’ve stayed at. Let’s just say, the bathrooms had mirrors and soap. Registration was super easy and it was only $10/night for the walk-in spots!

Very near Mae's Moon Garden Getaway!
Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park was a highlight of our trip. In a single day, we hiked past steaming vents, watched people cross a vast crater, walked through lava tubes, and spotted rare plants and honeycreepers. The mix of raw volcanic power and fragile life was unforgettable, and everyone we met—visitors and staff—seemed relaxed, curious, and genuinely happy to be there.
