We had an incredible stay at the Old Mill Cabin. The cabin was so comfortable and felt like a home away from home. We were blown away by the attention to detail and the thoughtful preparation that had gone into making our stay special. From the canoe ready to go on the marsh/pond to the fully equipped kitchen with all the cooking ware we needed, everything was simple but perfect. And let's not forget the fire pit, which was well stocked with wood and ready for us to cozy up around on chilly evenings. The cabin had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and we felt so relaxed and at ease. We can't wait to come back and experience it all again! 5 stars isn't enough - we'd give it 10 stars if we could! The perfect getaway from the city, with all the amenities and comforts you need to unwind and connect with nature. thank you Ian and Gilah!

I loved the cabin very much. It was tidy, unique and I felt warm welcome from the host. They prepared lots of wood for us and even the welcomed drink. There was very clear guideline about the cabin and area nearby. Definitely recommend for my friends.

Ian and Gilah were great hosts. Everything was well communicated and they were accommodating to questions/requests.
The cabin itself was as pictured and contained an information booklet with anything you may need to know. Washroom is a bit far, but that was listed on the site.

Definitely would stay here again. The cabin is very well insulated, stocked with everything you may need. The beds are comfortable and the blanket for the loft was thick. I enjoyed my weekend here and I felt truly like I was "getting away". Thank you Ian and Gilah for providing such an experience.

We loved how private and tucked away Ian and Gilah’s cabin was. It was quiet and had all the essentials that we needed for a relaxing stay. I feel like I haven’t rested like this in a very long time. Would definitely come again! :)

I loved my stay with my wife In Ian and Gilah cabin ! There is really no network which we loved !! There is plenty of woods for the fire place and the fire pit outside !

Staying at the Old Mill Cabin was by the far one of the most memorable experiences I've had. The amenities were complete and as advertised. Ian and Gilah were accommodating to my specific needs. I truly felt welcomed and at home in the cabin.

OMG. The place was exactly as described.
The vibe and the views were magical. We saw what looked a lot like a flying squirrel and some Sandhill cranes they told us about.
Ian and Gilah's instructions were clear and very detailed. They provide everything you need for a short stay in the woods. The solar panel with the Jackery system is genius–glamping experience elevated. The bed... oh my the bed is so comfy. And the view when you wake up from your slumber is even better.
We recommend going into "town"–with Cobden just a short drive away, Sour Jo's Sourdough bakery has some sweet treats and if you're in the mood for a refreshing beer, there is also Whitewater brewing company.

We’ve stayed here a few times now, and it’s always so amazing! Ian and Gilah are such great hosts, the cabin is so cute and comfortable, and the land is beautiful! It’s a great place to use as a base to explore the region, or as a place to relax and bird watch on the marsh! The extra touches in the cabin really make our stay special every time. 1000% recommend!

We loved our stay at Old Mill Cabin, it was so cozy and well taken care of. Every detail you could think of was taken care of. The frogs and the birds singing all through the day was so relaxing and spotting them on the dock was wonderful.

An amazing little cabin to spend a weekend out of the city. The little pond outside the cabin is fully private and is so full of life. It is both magical and so peaceful to sit on the small dock and just observe nature do it's thing. The cabin it's self is super cozy and homey. I will definitely be keeping the cabin in mind for future weekend getaways

I loved how this property is developed for the campers. It gives you a very cozy vibe with the lake view. I would highly recommend this cabin for couples.

We had a fantastic time at the Old Mill Cabin. Everything was easily identified in the handy cabin book. From the battery to the fireplace, it was easily used by even the most inexperienced off grid camper. Cabin was warm, clean and dry. Two adults and two kids (11 & 9) fit just right inside the cozy cabin. Winter was a great time to go, although lots of snow, the temp was only about 0°c so late night travel to the outhouse wasn’t to chilly. Limited cell signal made the stay even more enjoyable as we had no choice but to disconnect. Even on the way out my 9 year old daughter couldn’t stop talking about the “little house”. Hoping to get back soon

We had such a great time at the Old Mill Cabin! It was such a cost spot to come home to after a day of enjoying the outdoors. Ian was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed to have a perfect weekend.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the cozy winter camping on Ian and Gilah's land. It is the perfect location to get away for the weekend , read a book, and cook a nice meal. It was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend!

The cabin was a perfect getaway for two. We loved having a fireplace both indoors and outdoors. The upstairs bed was comfortable and what a delight to wake up as if we were in the trees and a wonderful view of the lake.
Great trails to walk along and breathe in some fresh air. Qui est and very private, good ambiance for staying cozy and getting enveloped by a good book.

Our stay at Old Mill Cabin was an amazing experience. The land is so beautiful, it was a winter wonderland! We cooked over the fire outside, snowshoed through the forest, and got cozy by the fire inside. The place was clean on arrival with two local beers waiting for us, and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again.

This little cabin was exactly what I needed. Secluded, off-grid, with so many beautiful and thoughtful little touches. Having both indoor and outdoor spaces was very appreciated. We had everything we needed. Ian was very helpful and responsive. I would love to return again in the summer.

Stayed at the Mill for the weekend and it was absolutely amazing. Ian and Gilah made sure that our stay was comfortable. The cabin was pre warmed, with plenty of firewood and kindling. It was cold out but the cabin was nice and toasty all day and night. There was a bbq where you can cook and tons of useful things were provided for us to use during our stay such as pots, pans, plates etc. We managed to hike around the property that was nice and peaceful. Thank you! We will definitely be back and hopefully there’s snow in the ground as there are tons of snowshoe trails around.

Where to start with this reservation? The hosts were absolutely amazing and super easy to communicate, even going as far to start the wood stove before we got there so it would be cozy (it was) they have thought about everything and anything you could need and gave it a very homey feel. The location is my definition of glamping, we get all the views but still get a cozy bed and cozy fire to go with it. I would recommend this place to my family friends and even strangers.

This was such a magical stay. My partner and I have already talked about going back next year for thanksgiving.
We hunted through the woods for the historical remains, drank coffee to the sounds of birds, and sat infront of a beautiful fire.
The simplicity of making the fire to heat the cabin and adding logs throughout the night was very gounding.
Everytime we do such an outing, we keep our phones off the entire time to just enjoy time together and nature. This place is fantastic for that.
