From U.S. Highway 550 (mile marker 112.5), you will see the National Park sign, drive south on County Road 7900 for 5 miles. After 5 miles (the road comes to a “T”) you will see another National Park sign, on the right hand side. Turn right on County Road 7950. You cannot turn left. (If you go straight, that will take you to Pueblo Pintado). Drive 3 miles on County Road 7950. The pavement will end. On the right hand side you will see a sign that says "Dry Camp". THE CAMPGROUND IS ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE. There will be a sign that reads: “Horsethief Campground”. In front of the short road to the Campground. At the end of the short road to the campground is: a large school building, and 2 other buildings. We apologize that the road is a little uneven, but we are looking to improve this real soon. You are welcome to park inside or outside the gated area. Horse-Thief Campground is an upcoming camp; located on 5 acres of land and more, for campers to enjoy. In a quiet; serene, beautiful landscape area of the Dine Nation. With beautiful sunrises; sunsets and night sky is out of this world. There are trails in which visitors may walk or bike, as well as a Look Out Point. Horse-Thief is currently a Dry Camp with no Electricity or running water however generators are welcome. There is one portable restroom. P.S. If you have already paid on Hipcamp, you do not need to pay again. However, please sign the Waiver provided. Thank you very much! We hope you enjoy your stay. 😊

A peaceful and serene camping site. We've built a Zen Garden at the top of the hill. This is a very rustic place to camp up in the Central Mountains of New Mexico. The Stargazing view is stunning! About an hour from Gallup, near the Wolf Sanctuary. All the Land of Enchantment has to offer in the Spring, Summer and fall! A sacred place where your family can go car camping. I like having my 4x4 Truck...right here at my campsite. For others that don't care, there's lots of tent camping available. One must see it to believe it it's absolutely sublime. We're building a retreat for camping with groups it's so peaceful and beautiful. A peaceful Serene setting definitely a getaway spot nestled in 7,300' Mountains.

Florez Riverview Campground

5. Florez Riverview Campground

45mi from Chaco Culture National Historical Park · 41 sites
Nestled in the breathtaking valley of the San Juan River, our campground offers a unique blend of rustic charm and family-friendly amenities, making it the perfect getaway for those seeking an authentic outdoor experience. The Florez family, rooted in the small village of Angostura near Blanco, New Mexico, has dedicated decades to working the land and raising cattle, and this rich heritage is reflected in the welcoming atmosphere of our campground. At the BAR MF Ranch, we cherish the joy of outdoor living, where children can grow alongside colts, calves, goats, lambs, and baby chicks. Our picturesque setting not only fosters a connection with nature but also creates lasting memories for families. Inspired by the stunning blue and silver hues of the San Juan River, we transformed part of our riverfront property into a campground designed for relaxation and enjoyment. Our campground features essential amenities such as picnic tables, covered shelters, and charcoal grills, ensuring a comfortable stay for all visitors. Located at the end of a private road, you’ll find tranquility surrounded by cottonwoods, just steps away from the serene San Juan River. Whether you’re camping in a tent, parking your RV, or simply seeking a day shelter for a family gathering, our campground provides the ideal setting for a peaceful retreat. In addition
