We are only a couple miles from the beautiful Elk River where many come to canoe, raft and kayak every year! We recommend the premier outfitter

We still find wild strawberries growing. The hills we ride and hike in, were once used by Jessie James and his gang. They robbed the local bank in Pineville, MO. And the first Jessie James movie, filmed in 1939, with Tyrone Power as Jessie James and Henry Fonda played Frank James.

We had a great time here. Beautiful land and cozy cabin. Very comfortable and great kitchen set up with induction stove and convection countertop oven. Everything was very clean and well stocked with everything from board games to laundry soap. The hosts John and Ginny are nice and welcoming. We will definitely come back when we can stay longer.

If you’re looking for an educational and inspiring destination, I highly recommend visiting **George Washington Carver National Monument**. Located in Diamond, Missouri, this site offers a unique and enriching experience that highlights the life and legacy of one of America’s most influential scientists and educators.
The park features a well-maintained visitor center with engaging exhibits that showcase Carver’s contributions to agriculture, science, and education.
